10 Reasons I Know Your Life Is Really Great Right Now

Hi. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. You are wondering how some person who doesn’t know you can tell you with certainty that your life is great. The thought running through your mind is probably:

“How can you say that about me?”

“You don’t know my life”

“You don’t know what I’m going through”

“You don’t know what I’ve been through”

“You don’t understand how difficult this is”

“I wouldn’t wish this situation on anyone else”

“Things might be wonderful for other people but my life is NOT really great”

Yeah, excuse me. I don’t mean to interrupt your laundry list of grievances and woes but I was making a point if you don’t mind. Ahem. Yes. Thank you. I was saying that your life is really great right now.

It’s okay if you don’t believe me but please just hear me out. There are at least 10 reasons why I know your life is really great and if you will help me, we can go through this list together.

You see life is all about perspective. Your mind will get busy finding evidence of whatever you choose to believe. If you believe you can’t, then you can’t. If you believe it’s possible, then it is. If you believe everything is purple, you will suddenly notice how much purple there is in the world. In fact look around at all the purple you see right now. Your eyes zero in on anything purple no matter how small the purple thing is. Suddenly you are noticing purple above anything else. Green is sitting there wondering when you stopped loving him but that’s not your issue right now.

So, you have a choice in how you see the world. Life is full of purples and greens, great and not so great. You get to choose what to notice. You get to choose where you put your focus and energy. I choose to know with absolute certainty that, no matter what your current circumstances, issues, or troubles, your life is really great right now. What do you choose to believe? What have you decided to see? Where are you putting your attention? It is as easy as noticing the purple all around you. It doesn’t make the green go away, it’s just a choice to pay more attention to the purple.

Are things really great in your life right now? (Say yes) Great! It’s okay even if you don’t believe it 100% right now. It’s okay even if there is a voice in your head arguing with that statement.
