Since English is widely used in all the countries across the globe – every student, employee and businessmen aspire and dream to improve their English Speaking Skills. Many resources are available to the learners or aspirants if they really wish to develop themselves as good speakers of English language. What is expected from a learner is – he should have more interest, enthusiasm and above all strong passion towards English Language Speaking.
By following the below mentioned steps, a learner can naturally and effortlessly improve his English speaking skills:
1.Firstly, a learner should begin his learning by studying Verb forms, Tenses in English and their structures very carefully. By gaining good command over on these topics you can easily converse with anyone.
2.Secondly, you should also concentrate on six very important concepts in English Grammar namely – Articles, Prepositions, Relative Pronouns, Voice, Indirect Speech, and Usage of Helping verbs by referring to some standard books on English Grammar.
3.Thirdly, a learner should have confidence in himself/herself. By overcoming his fear and shyness he can gradually develop his confidence levels and can become a potential speaker.
4.Fourthly, the leaner should try to talk with someone in English and in the initial stages there will be more mistakes but by ignoring them a learner should keep on speaking in English language only.
5.The next step is – Request the speakers who are really good at Speaking English to listen to you by sparing some time and to kindly correct the mistakes that are being made by you.
6.Reading English newspapers for not less than an hour daily will be very much beneficial to a learner. Observe carefully how the sentences are drafted in different articles by the writers. Besides reading newspapers a learner must also read “Conversation Practice” books extensively. Note down the expressions in a separate note book and use them in your day-to-day English. I recommend an excellent book by the title “English Conversation Practice by Grant Taylor”.
7.When you get an opportunity to talk with a person who is a good speaker of English language, listen carefully to him by paying your complete attention. The more you listen to such a speaker the more knowledge you will gain instantaneously.
8.Think twice or thrice before speaking a sentence whether it is a correct formation or not. By thinking in such a way you can possibly reduce many mistakes at the time of speaking English.
9.Evaluate your performance every time and every day after having chatted with someone in English. By continuous assessment and evaluation you will come to know the mistakes that are done by you and do not repeat the same mistakes again the next time.
10.Lastly, a learner should adopt one more important thing in his life that he should talk to himself in his mind and talk to a Wall in English language. This seems a very strange activity but it boosts the confidence levels of a learner and slowly he can overcome many of his problems or hurdles related to English speaking.
If these steps are followed English could be spoken fluently within three to four months of time. Wishing you all good luck in your attempt.
