3 Questions to Ask Yourself Every Day to Change Your Life for Good

From the time we're small children, we are not taught a lot about how we work: how our mind works, our thoughts, our bodies, our brains, etc. The reason we're not taught this is because the loving, well meaning parents who gave birth to us didn't know either, not to mention the rest of society. In classrooms we're taught that being able to memorize information and repeat it back is revered, and that if we make an "F" we are in fact, a failure. And so the story goes, throughout our lives. There are a few of us who begin to "wake up" at some point and decide to learn more about the mysterious workings of our mind, body, and spirit; only to find at the same time we have to let go of a pile of beliefs, habits, and actions we've spent our whole lives with.
I've been not only on this path myself for several years now, but actively help others through it. I see over and over again when someone comes to me for coaching, they are there because they are asking these deeper questions. The process begins with learning how to think properly, then putting things into action, developing new habits, and finally enjoying different results.
Learning how to think properly is the first step. I invite you to imagine your brain being like a supercomputer - literally. You program it a particular way and based on that programming, will perform. When you feed questions into this supercomputer, then it will deliver answers to you. It is a lot like searching the Internet for a particular question. When you're doing a search, you type a question or a key word in to bring up the solution to the problem you have, right? Your brain is the same way. If you are feeding into it questions such as "what's wrong with me?" or "why do I keep doing this dumb thing?" or even "why am I so stressed out?", then your brain will have no choice on but to provide you with a list of reasons. This will NEVER solve your problem, but keep you circling around in it.
If you sit and ask yourself these questions each day, and keep asking them, out of the blue you will have answers pop into your head. Maybe not right away, but within a few days it's amazing what you will have access to. The more you do this, the quicker the answers come.
1. What is the easiest, fastest, and most joyful way to (my desired result?) I learned this from Jeanna Gabellini and Bridget Engel, when they were on my radio show a few weeks back. I was so inspired and began to ask this question every morning. I meditated on it. Sometimes I got answers right away, sometimes ideas or resources would show up later, and it ways I didn't expect. Plus, asking this question sure feels a lot better tha
"what if this doesn't work?". That's NO fun.
2. If I knew that it would work out in a way even better tha
I could imagine, what would I create for myself? It's usually the doubts that silence our internal dreamer even before it even speaks to us. This question will shut those doubts up for a few minutes, because it's prefaced with "If I knew this would work out". Write this question down, ponder it, think about it. Talk to your friends about it - well, supportive friends. Take turns asking each other this question. You'll be surprised at what may come out.
3. What is working in my life right now? This is that fabulous question that will have you focus on what you're grateful for. There's always something working in your life. Unfortunately, most of us get something we want, spend five minutes being happy about it, and then are now looking for the next thing. If you ask yourself this question each day at least once, you'll begin to start training that brain of yours to enjoy what you've got a little bit more.
There's a million more questions like this, but these three will bring you powerful results. When you take the time to do this, and you begin to see and hear the answers coming, you actually create a new neuronet in your brain that accepts this as a possibility. You begin to do it more and more. After a few months, you learn more about how your brain works and it will not be long when a problem presents itself before you ask these questions and get answers. Then, you don't spend days, weeks, or years in the contemplation of the problem, but a few minutes in contemplation of the solution.
Remember, the law of flotation was not discovered by the contemplation of the sinking of things. I invite you now to not take my word for this, but to try it yourself. Really. The answers are there, waiting for you to open up to receive them. These questions will not only help with that, but give you a peaceful mind, and from a peaceful mind do great ideas flow.
