Smell a calming scent Aromatherapy is basically defined as a form of alte ative medicine in which certain scents are inhaled to achieve therapeutic benefit. The effectiveness of aromatherapy in helping soothe and calm the emotions has long been proven. Research suggests odor molecules affect certain brain organs that control emotional memories, heart rate, blood pressure, hormone balance and stress levels. The most commonly used scent for relaxation is lavender. So if you need to relax, light a lavender-scented candle or drop a few drops of lavender oil in a diffuser and inhale the soothing scents. Stress in moderation is said to be the spice of human life—it could put you in an efficient state and help you accomplish things. But, when stress becomes too much, it can lead to mental, physical and emotional problems.
