We all need little “pick-me-ups” at times, and it’s amazing how a simple change can really make such an impact. Here are 5 simple strategies to feel happier, less stressed and more energetic through your day. Just start with 1 or 2 of these simple changes…
1. Drink WATER every hour. Yes, every hour. According to a study published in the Archives of Environmental Health, just a 2 percent decrease in body weight due to dehydration (the point at which you become thirsty) can lead to fatigue, lack of mental clarity, excess weight, cellulite, water retention, headaches and constipation. Be sure to use high quality #7 bottles to store your water, and drink at least a ½ gallon a day!
2. SMILE. Making yourself smile – a real smile, using not just your lips but also the muscles around your eyes, can activate the feel good parts of the brain. Need some help getting happy on a down day? Call your most cheerful (or funny) friend to help get a smile on your face.
3. Clean your house! This is a double whammy because you know that busting dust and germs can protect you from colds, allergies and asthma. But it can also put you in a joyful mood. 98% of people say they feel good about themselves when their home is clean. Plus, keeping your house tidy – with everything in its proper place, can help reduce stress levels. Try turning on some great music and have fun while you clean.
4. Splurge on fresh-cut flowers. Keeping a bouquet of flowers in the house has shown to make people happier and less anxious. Both men and women actually respond to fresh flowers. Certain flower types like peace lilies and bamboo are also particularly effective at breaking down indoor pollutants, and lilies smell amazing.
5. Turn off the TV. Switching off the tube just one day/night per week can give you more energy. Researchers from the University of Leicester in England discovered that after 2 weeks without TV, people were more likely to go to bed earlier and wake up refreshed and alert the next day. Try it and spend that time relaxing, reading a good book, or soaking in a bubble bath.
6. Have a glass of red wine. A little wine is a good thing and too much is a no, no. Just one glass a day reduces heart attack risk, cuts inflammation, protects memory, guards against osteoporosis, and helps keep you slim. However, note that two or more glasses a day can boost breast cancer risk, hurt bones, raises odds of diabetes, ups lung-cancer risk, and may lead to addiction. Keep it to once a week, and it is a relaxing and healthy way to reduce stress and relax.
Now, pick something from the list and start today. Add one item per week and in 6 weeks you just might be surprised to find how relaxed and happy you are!

The 4 Keys to Building Lasting Wealth
It hit me while I was having an inspiring conversation this week with a woman wanting to get a job selling mops like I do. After seeing my numbers and opening the door to possibility that she could also make 900$ a day selling mops, noticing her eyes glisten and sparkle as she soaked up every morsel of information I gave her as if it were the most important thing in the world, I felt inspiring. Then I realized that my 900$ a day earnings (although above average to many) could also be seen as a fart in a windstorm compared to someone who say makes 9000$ a day, or even 900$ an hour.
