Team Building and Leadership is interconnected. For one to happen, the other has to be effective. Only an effective leader has the skills to drive a team to achieve shared goals. A team consists of a group of people who have come together for some common objective. They are committed to a greater goal at a broader level, which is much more than their personal objective. For an effective team building to take place, it is important to improve and maximize this feeling of togethe ess and accomplishment. Now, you may ask what leadership is. It is the ability of a person or firm to inspire, motivate, and influence people to work together in the same direction sharing a common focus. Now, can you see the obvious link between team building and leadership? Leadership and Team Building: Let’s look at the some of the activities that a leader must do in order to build a strong team.
  • Improve team dynamics
  • Motivate the leader within each employee
  • Strengthen the confidence of the team to perform their best

  • Organize team building activities or games for a better understanding and bond within a team

Leadership and Motivation: One of the key tasks of a leader is to motivate employees to perform their best. As a leader, you can motivate your employees in more than one way that too without any additional expenditure. For instance - a free yoga session after work hours. Moreover, it is important to let your employees know that you are a leader who appreciates open communication. It is a fact that when employees know they are heard and can discuss anything with their manager openly, a trusting relationship can be developed. One key factor of a team building activity for a leader must be to ensure that employees are assigned their right match of jobs. Evaluate your employee’s ability and preference and match him with the right role. If you just appreciate the employee for his work, you could motivate him to do his best.
