Here in the U.S. and I suppose other places, people seem to be cynical at times. It seems that faith or trust in feelings is taken away or shied away from at an early age. Nor do we value the notion that we have energies inside that can actually help us create a better life for ourselves, along with emotions that come into play often when we need them most.

Pure love is very simple. You love the person for who they are – right now, whatever they are doing or not doing. In its simplest terms, you love them and give your love unconditionally. Many of us believe that is what we do, ye, the reality is, we love them, but we want something in return. A classic example of this is how we use attention. When someone is pleasing the horse trader, doing what they want, are present for them, spend each moment with them, give good eye contact, and listen actively to what their partners have to say.

1. First have the Coaching clarified - This involves skill and knowledge. It recognizes when a team member is having trouble with a skill and implements things to correct this. However this can be done by the leader or by other team members. The coach recognizes this and starts the correction but often it is useful to have other members of the team go over things because it takes pressure off the correction. It can help take the nervousness out of the situation. At times there is counseling. This cannot be done by another team member.
We recently worked with a senior team which had a new leader. The fact that the leaders working style was very different from the previous leader and the added fact that nearly half of the members were new to the team, made it necessary for the team to get into an offsite – to try and construct a cohesive team identity. Constructing an identity for a team – is never something that happens ove ight or in a two day workshop. It is always the result of the members of the team making a deliberate effort and showing deliberate intent in making it work.
The Team Development ProcessnnWhen I became a team leader, I quickly learned that there was more to teams than I'd realized. Although I had been on many teams, I had never realized what it took to manage a highly functional team. People do not always respond the way I think should. Sometimes they get frustrated with other team members or with my leadership. Perhaps, you've had similar experiences. nnLater I learned that teams go through a natural maturing process from a simpl
There are symptoms that teams are beginning to not function well even if they have in the past. These manifest in different ways. The most obvious are that more ansences begin to happen along with people being late. But more will occur that has to do with attitude. Employees will seem to lose energy with everything taking longer or worse a feeling that employees don't care as much. I personally don;t think that employees don't care but instead are upset with a situation.
“To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.”- Joseph Chilton Pearce Fear of the boss, or the boss’s system, destroys creativity. Fear creeps into the workplace in many ways: fear of making a mistake; fear of other peoples’ opinions; fear of embarrassment; fear of change. The more afraid employees are, the less creative they will be. It is a well-accepted scientific belief that we humans need to feel secure to focus on higher-level intellectual tasks.
Yes there are. I have put C's to team building simply as a way to remind me of all the aspects that go into team building. There are many different areas that need attention from time to time if not daily. But that does not mean it takes an incredible amount of time. It is more about checking on tasks and giving bits of attention to the team. They need to know the leader is involved. So more C's? Commitment - There needs to be a commitment to the goals of the team. This comes down to wanting the team to succeed. However this should be defined so each member knows what that means.

What comes to mind when you hear the word "Stress"? How do you define the word "stress"? I have asked hundreds of people these two questions, and the answers continue to surprise me. However, the responses always seem to fall under these four categories: people, situations, outcomes and feelings. People often define the word stress associated with a specific individual, symptoms of stress, causes or a situation they have experienced, the results or outcomes of stress, or by feelings related to stress. Rarely do I hear an actual definition of stress.
Ask, and then listen. Really listen. Tap the creativity and differing perspectives of all employees. An effective leader has learned that good ideas can come from anywhere and anyone. It may be the employee with years of experience who combines innovation with “tried and true” to get the job done. Or the “bright idea” might come from the newbie employee who offers a fresh solution to a nagging problem.

Many of us are well aware of situations or circumstances that cause us stress. In the moment we can recognize the signs of emotional response to the stress we are suddenly experiencing. Are we as good at recognizing stress over the long term? What about stress that slowly creeps in? This kind of stress starts off small but accumulates over time and before you know it, we are blowing our tops. We have all experienced this stress at some time or another in our lives. It isn't as easily recognized or noticeable in our lives until it builds up and becomes too much.

This is the chance like no other for people to give themselves the time and energy that each deserves. There are now life coaches that not only assist people with self but also with business, projects, and home life. Being self aware is the key to having life run smoother. This includes business and anything else a person needs to run or get done. Self-awareness means that a person is in touch with the person inside as well as out. It means that a person knows how he or she will react in a situation, knows how to make a decision, and knows the ways that motivate self.

In my experience in the supervisory and management world I have found that getting the job done in a consistent day to day way, comes down to the view of the managing person no matter what the actual title the person holds. I have separated these views by using the words manage and lead. There is always talk about how to motivate employees to get the job done in a consistent manner. Often I have seen that people in management take care of tasks.
Success is talked about throughout society and people seem to be working towards being successful with almost every job that is done. It is interesting that people even decide at an early age at times which profession will be looked at as a successful one. A prestigious job so to speak is one that seems to say successful by just the title. People study and train for the job they believe will make money and also fulfill the definition of success. But this doesn't always make a person successful. There are examples where poor jobs were done by people with impressive titles.

One cannot stress enough on how important strong and effective leadership skills are in an organization. Any corporate office is as strong, or as weak, as the leader at the helm of the team. Ever wondered why a particular sports team is on the winning side most times. It is due to a strong team dynamics, which motivate each individual to be a high performer. Team dynamics is one of the critical leadership competencies to build and lead a high performing team. Especially in a small company, where an employee has to multi-task to achieve objectives, team bonding is necessary.

It is already a given fact that amid hustles and bustles, stress at work can be irritating and consuming. As business-oriented people, we have managed to juggle schedules between family and business aside from equally important commitments in life. At the end of each day, we find ourselves weary, bone-tired and even emotionally and mentally drained. When the economy is slow, company managers and leaders have to be very cautious with every expense. As a result, we will often put off hiring new employees until more certainty in the marketplace develops. The answer to that question is… “Well… It depends…” Don’t Confuse “Morale” with “Productivity”

Employee training is one of a business owner’s or manager’s top priorities and can pay some of the highest dividends in terms of productivity and profitability as well as leading to greater customer satisfaction. Often when discipline is mentioned it seems that the first thing that is thought of is punishment. A child does something that an adult feels is wrong and this needs to be punished so that the child has something bad to relate to whatever the child did. In this way it is believed that the child will not do the wrong again. This is assuming the child understood that this punishment is because of the wrongdoing. If I remember correctly though, the word discipline comes from the word disciple which means teaching.
In today's time, where companies have become highly commercialized and demands result in terms of productivity and profit, overlooking the importance of leadership training has become a common thing.

The empowerment of people in the team is very essential to team building. During one of my recent Teambuilding Training Programs, I had the opportunity to ask the attending executives to identify the qualities of a "rich team". Background: Personality temperaments theory was originally devised in medieval times for understanding human nature. People were looking for simple ways to understand themselves and others. It was believed that everyone had various characteristics, which made up their basic temperament. The initial four basic temperaments were Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholy, and Phlegmatic. More recently personality traits have become popular in the business community through the DiSC Profile®.

Every corporate organization has a mission, vision and a set of goals to achieve. Each employee in the organization is important for contributing towards this common goal. While every team member is responsible for his or her duties and responsibilities at an individual level, it is important for the whole team to work as a united force to drive the organization towards success.
Team Building and Leadership is interconnected. For one to happen, the other has to be effective. Only an effective leader has the skills to drive a team to achieve shared goals. A team consists of a group of people who have come together for some common objective. They are committed to a greater goal at a broader level, which is much more than their personal objective. For an effective team building to take place, it is important to improve and maximize this feeling of togethe ess and accomplishment.
Conflicts within a team are unavoidable. In any organization, people come with different ideas, attitude, values, vision, goals, etc. and when these clash, they give rise to conflicts. Addressing such problems is time consuming, and can often lead to other issues. Conflicts hamper the general mood in an organization, affect the productivity of the whole team, and spread negativity around. Solving mutual conflicts is not an easy task, as these are not tangible problems that can be solved by talks or issuing memos.
You can't go up to your boss, your co-works, or even your blind dates and ask them to take a personality test. Yet personality does affect how we interact with others. I would like to share a wonderful two-question test for understanding why we instantly bond with some people; while at the same time, some people seem born to irritate us. When we don't understand what happened in the conflict, we always look for WHAT or WHO caused the conflict. While trying to figure things out, it's helpful that we trace and discuss things over. However, if people are quick to put a blame on people frantically, this is a problem. Blaming is a circus. It's his fault-It's her fault. Not me-It's you. The drama goes on - an arena of who's better... a circus of who sounds smarter, better and proving each other wrong.
I am not good enough to get that job. I can never be a good leader, why should I apply for that job. No matter whether you are interviewing for a new job or taking up some leadership role in your organization, everyone at some point in life nurture a self-doubt in his career. The reasons for all might be different. Some may have lost a job and with that, their confidence, while some may be returning to work in a certain profile after a long break.
Any significant accomplishment usually requires the involvement of many people. What if one could simply understand the unique genius of individuals, and further, be able to assemble teams where genius and talents were complementary to others on the team to produce outstanding results? âAll children are born geniuses; 9,999 are swiftly and inadvertently degeniusized by grownups." The old adage still holds true - people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Sheryl was good mortgage processor - mind you good, not great. Her performance evaluations showed just this. She got the job done with minimum error rates and in a timely manner. She was good.
Truly complicated problems necessitate team solutions. If your team does not function well, its’ problem solving capability will be limited. To tackle intricately detailed problems a team must successfully answer these questions. I recommend answering the questions in sequence and posting the team responses on some visual media. I recommend spending approximately 5 minutes on each question. This keeps your meeting moving quickly and helps keep all team members involved.

When I first graduated from college, I was hired full time at a children’s home. I had been working there part time as a relief childcare worker. Unfortunately my boss, Larry, had a different vision of my role. He insisted I represent management’s position to the childcare workers.

Smiling is a great stress buster and it can also change the environment around you. I have noticed the power of a smile when visiting workplaces for consulting or training projects. When the team is in their “serious mode”, it is obvious through their facial expressions (or lack of expression) and interactions with one another. Someone smiling in the room not only breaks the tension, but creates a ripple effect of smiles; it lightens the mood! Practice this at work; change your environment through your presence. How often have you found yourself in conflict with a teammate because you see something one way and he/she sees them another? Perspective is a powerful phenomenon. The blind man touching the ears believed the elephant to be flexible and almost flat. Touching the elephant's trunk lead one to certain knowledge that an elephant was like a snake.

When a group is created, the members must build trust among themselves. A facilitator can move this process along through a variety of team building exercises. The intention of the "games" is to get the new group members to loosen up, get to know each other and begin to create trusting relationships. Fun is key to the success of these exercises. The “road” that leads to the first cannot get you to the second. It takes a different route.

They will do their best to convey their information to their audience and probably be glad to have gotten through with their act.
