Einstein said, “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” Quantum physics maintains that nothing is solid; everything is energy in motion, giving the appearance of solidity. It’s the combined power of our intention, feeling, and imagination that shapes and reshapes our bodies and our lives. I love that reality is so play doughy and malleable; it reassures me that anything is possible, including healing cancer.
I’ve been on a cancer journey for over 3 years and I’m a great believe
in the healing power of intention. I was lying in my husband Tom’s arms recently and we were meditating together, as we do every morning. I felt treasured, held, healed, and whole. I imagined carrying this same feeling to my future selves, visualizing myself morphing through my 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, seeing myself healthy and happy in my 80’s, imagining high-fiving Tom and saying, “We made it to our 80’s! And you’re still cute,” I tell him. “And you still have the body of a 20-year old,” he tells me. (We can imagine anything we want :o)
Believing that this is possible makes it more possible. Therefore, to reinforce my belief, I’ve been gathering some profoundly inspirational examples of the magical, malleable, shape-shifting capability of our amazing bodies. I’d like to share 3 of these examples with you:
1. In Anita Moorjani’s memoir, Dying To Be Me, she describes being in the hospital, unconscious, her organs shutting down, dying from the cancer that had spread throughout her body. While unconscious she had a remarkable near-death experience in which she learned many things about the meaning of life and was told she could go back to her body and live a purposeful life. Even though her body was ravaged, she was assured that she would regain total health. She decided to return to her body. In just a few weeks her condition rapidly improved until she was completely cancer-free. She writes, “That made me realize that nothing is solid (or real). We can change anything.”
2. Here’s another powerful example of our mind-blowing ability to instantly shift the makeup of our bodies. In her book, Your Body is Your Subconscious Mind, renowned neuroscientist, Dr. Candace Pert (you may remember her from the movie What the Bleep) writes about her research on multiple personality disorders, which shows that one personality may have a disease, such as diabetes, while another doesn’t. One may be far-sighted while another is near-sighted. Some even have different colored eyes! It’s the same body, but the emotions and beliefs of each personality change the molecular makeup of their body within seconds! She writes that instead of being solid, “Our bodies are more like flickering flames. They change with our emotional states.”
3. Best selling author Gregg Braden presented an astonishing video documenting a baseball-sized tumor in a woman’s bladder disappearing in minutes. This was done in China by three practitioners who generated the feeling within themselves that the woman was already healed. The woman believed as well. During this focused and deeply felt intention, a sonogram shows the tumor disappearing in less than 3 minutes. The key is to feel and believe it as if it is already so. Just as Jesus promised, “All things whatsoever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall receive them.” [Mark 11:24]
Every morning now I do my visualization meditation where I morph forwards in time, seeing myself vibrating in perfect health, love, and happiness; feeling and believing it as if it is already so.
It is never too late to heal our bodies and our lives. Is there an area of your life that is ready for some shape-shifting? Through the power of belief, imagination, and intention, anything is possible!
