Book Review: The Real Truth about Success: What the Top 1 Percent Do Differently, Why They Won’t Tell You, and How You Can Do it Anyway by Garrison Wynn.
This is a book that takes a real look at what makes people successful and the fact that what makes them successful is almost certainly not what you think (or at least you’ll change your mind by the time you get to the end of the book). Dissatisfied with the standard answers he got from nearly 5,000 professionals, Mr. Wynn set out to find out the truth—the real reason these people were successful. We all know people that do all the “right” things and yet success eludes them. Yet, here were people who did some of the right things, but not all, didn’t do them any differently than anyone else, and yet were successful. Why? By using persistence and wit, he convinced many of these highly successful people to agree to a more in depth interviews. The results of these interviews give him answers that were sometimes common sense, sometimes surprising, and sometimes the result of hard work.
He debunks three of the classic reasons people cite for their success: 1) The power of positive thinking propels you to success; 2) to have greater influence, what you have to offer must be bigger, better, more advanced, or greatly enhanced to surpass its competitors; 3) genius is the foundation of success. He then replaces them with several skills that everyone has, but most people don’t use (or don’t know how to use) including personal relationships, what other people want from you, and understanding how you are perceived by others (and using that to your advantage), and other secret advantages. He then goes on to tell you exactly how to implement these advantages in your life.
With great real-life stories and humor, Wynn outlines the ways you too can be successful, how to use your disadvantages to your advantage and make the most of what you have. You can use what you can learn from this book whether you are in business or just trying to get through life. The book is easy to read and full of great ideas. This book is a must for anyone’s personal development library.
Garrison Wynn is a former professional stand-up comedian and the founder of Wynn Solutions, a firm that provides business strategies and influence techniques to audiences around the world. In his teens, Wynn worked with Magnavox and Hank Aaron to promote the world’s first video gaming system, and by age 27, he became the youngest department head in a Fortune 500 company’s history. He lives in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Robin is the current host of his radio show, "Networking with the Blindguy" with up to 4.7 million listeners.

Dr Robin Rushlo has been through many trials and ups and downs in his life.
He has pins in both ankles, both knees, right hip, an artificial right shoulder, a full metal plate in his head. He is 100% blind with only light perception in the right eye. He been 100% blind since January 2000. Without hearing aids he is 78% deaf. He uses adaptive software to surf the net and run his businesses. He has adaptive software that runs his cell phone and walking GPS systems.
Dr Robin has the motto "If the Blindguy can DO IT, anyone can!"
