Build Your Network Marketing Business Through Relationships

If you’re just getting started in network marketing, you’ve probably already been told to “make your list.” It’s suggested that your list include the names of at least 100 people you know (prospects) that you would like to approach with your business opportunity or product. This is called your “warm” market.
In most cases, what you’ll soon find is that your once-warm market suddenly turns a cold shoulder as you hound them with an opportunity or product they never expressed an interest in.
Of course, there will always be those in the network marketing business who will be successful with this model, at least in the beginning. What happens is they’ve somehow – mostly through dumb luck – recruited one or two people who go on to become superstars. But what about the other 95%? Since many of them really only signed up to help you out because you were their friend or family member, they’ve dropped out, disappeared, and never return your calls. At the very least, this can be disheartening for you AND for your team, not to mention the long-term impact on your income stream.
A Positive Alte

Rather than overwhelming someone with every single detail about you, your company, and your products, what if your approach was totally focused on them? What if you took all of that energy and enthusiasm and really listened to what they want? What are their goals and dreams? Why are they interested in a home based business? How do they believe having their own business will change their life?
Will asking such questions will help you get to know this person better? You bet it will. When they realize that you really do care about what’s important to them (and this has to be genuine, not faked, interest), you will begin to establish a relationship. When you’ve established a relationship, you’ll be in a much better position to share how your opportunity may truly help them reach those goals and dreams.
What you also have to realize is that your business in particular, and network marketing in general, is not for everyone. So if you discover through your interaction with someone that it isn’t a positive step for them or for you, you need to be able to let it go. There are so many people searching for just what you have, and you will find them.
Building your network marketing business through building relationships may mean that your business doesn’t grow as quickly as you’d like. In the long term, however, it means a solid business with a strong foundation and a team that’s happy and cohesive because they’ve chosen you and your opportunity.n

Carlos Ramon - Observations From the Motorcycle Procession.
I received a text from a fellow motorcycle rider friend of mine, Joe, on Tuesday December 7th, 2010. Sadly, the message read a kid named Carlos with a GSXR 600 just died from running a stop sign at 17th and Hackberry in McAllen, Texas. Kid? Oh no! It is always awful when one of your fellow riders goes down and gets hurt, a tragedy when they die. When I read the words ‘kid’, my heart bled even more. The poor relatives and friends that have to survive through the insurmountable pain of losing a son, brother, nephew, or friend, well, I can’t even put into words.r
