Can Ego and Love exist together? What is the difference between Soul and Ego?
No, ego and love cannot exist together.
Loving someone in the presence of the ego will mean love that is forever changing, it becomes subjective, based on a selfish give and take, and there’s a constant fault-finding taking place which could result in a burst of the worst in you or even others, at times.
Wherever the ego is present, it becomes impossible for true love to flow, as the ego will surely end up hurting the person you love.
Only when you see others as faultless, pure love will arise. And this cannot happen in the presence of ego because wherever there is ego, the presence of intellect is bound to be there. And it is the in-bound nature of intellect to see the faults in others. Until there is attachment, people will appear good. But attachment breeds expectations. So when the expectations are not fulfilled, the same people appear to be at fault. And when you see faults in someone, you cannot love them.
To experience truly selfish love, we ought to be free from ego
We are a pure Soul. The nature of the Self (the Soul) is love. The love of the Soul is selfless, unconditional, and forgiving and it is free from attachment and expectations. It is steady; therefore regardless of whether someone showers flowers on us or insults us, we experience only love for them. Therefore, with this love, there is oneness with everyone.
Soul V/s Ego
While the Soul is who we are, ego is the wrong belief of ‘who am I’.
How did the ego come about?
How long does it take for a shadow to arise in the light of the Sun? When anything comes in front of a mirror, how long does it take for a reflection to arise? How is that happening? That activity is natural.
In the same way, on coming together of the two elements, namely matter and Soul, the wrong belief of ‘I am John (please insert your name here) and I am doing’ arises. This wrong belief is called ego, which continues to manifest and strengthen in every life after life. So because the ego has arisen, the worldly life continues, causing us suffering, misery and pain in the vicious cycle of birth and death.
It is only in human birth that we can break free from this cycle, provided we happen to meet the enlightened being who can help us attai
Self-Realization. Only He can fracture our wrong beliefs and bestow upon us the knowledge of the Self.
Following Self-realisation, a conviction is established within that really, “I am pure Soul, and not the body and name.’
Experience of eternal happiness within and harmony with all the living beings outside begins with the application of the scientific concepts of Akram Vignan after Self-realisation. Consequently, the inner weaknesses of anger, greed, pride, and deceit gradually decrease and one's experience of the bliss of the Soul increases.
Self-realization brings love to all living beings. There arises a feeling of oneness with everyone because the true Self (Soul) is the same in every one!
