"Do what you fear and fear disappears." David Schwartz

You are capable of achieving whatever you set your mind to. According to the Law of Attraction that is a universal truth. Whatever you focus on, you attract. Once you make up your mind to move in a certain direction, the universe is already responding.

When you choose to make a significant lifestyle change, there are going to be challenges. Obstacles will show up. At some point you are likely to hit a wall. You will have to make a choice whether to continue moving forward, facing what is uncomfortable, or to retreat.

How much do you want to make this change? How would your life be different? This is where the true commitment is being tested. Are ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen? Choose to face your fears.

Accept the fact that you will be going out of your comfort zone when you choose to make a lifestyle change. It will be uncomfortable and draining. Making change demands that you are mentally present and focused. Avoid returning to old, familiar thoughts and actions. Understand that you will, at some point, hit that brick wall. You have the choice to get to the other side of the wall.

What needs to happen to get to the other side of that wall? The biggest obstacle is your fear. You have the ability to change how you perceive the situation. Step out of the box and look at all of the options. Your focus might be getting in the way of your progress. If your focus is that you are stuck and on the wrong side of the wall, then you will not be able to see the way to get to the other side. You are focusing on the problem instead of the solution. When you focus on the solution, you will begin to see the possibilities for progress.

Being truly committed to change means that you will need to look at all of the angles. It may be necessary to retreat a little and regroup. Give yourself permission to review your strategy. Avoid criticizing yourself for not seeing a solution immediately. When ready begin to move forward again to get to the other side of the wall. Have an open mind and an open heart. Consulting with others expands your point of view. Getting to the other side might be going above, around or through the wall.

Once you make the choice to continue making change, the solution will begin to present itself. You will realize getting to the other side of the wall is possible. When faced with adversity, you have an equal or greater potential for success when you choose to take action.

Activity: Think about the lifestyle change you are working on. What has been the biggest obstacle to your progress? Identifying the problem is easy. Now think about the challenges and solutions for getting to the other side of the wall. List all of the thoughts that come to mind and highlight whatever might be helpful for moving forward.
