Did you set any goals for this year? Are you well on your way to reaching them? One of the most common stumbling blocks I see as a coach is the culprit of clutter! So much time is spent on getting more; more stuff, more money, more time, more happiness. Yet seldom do we look at what we need to get rid of in our lives to make space for the new to come in. We literally pack on the pounds in every area of our lives! We weigh down our consciousness’ with heavy thoughts and impossible “to do” lists. We weigh down our desks with papers that need filing. We burden our bank accounts with spending that we don’t enjoy and don’t need. And we weigh down our lives with relationships and commitments that have lost their glimmer and no longer serve us.
So my challenge to you is to clear up your clutter! Here are a few easy tips to help you along:
1. Cut your “to do” list in half. Yes. Seriously. Look at the list and be brutally honest about what needs to be done, and what you’d like to get done. Focusing on the essentials will free your mind and amplify your results.
2. Clear off your desk. So many people complain that they want more business, yet fail to adequately deal with what they already have. Clear off your desk, and make room for new opportunities to come in.
3. Empty your “junk” drawer. Junk, by definition, is not something we want to keep! If there is stuff in there that you really and truly want, put it away where you can find it quickly and easily.
4. Clean out your car. Our cars symbolize how we get around in the world. A clean car runs better and is more enjoyable to drive. You’ll arrive where you’re going in a more relaxed and happier state.
If you’re not sure where to begin, hire a coach or enlist a “clean freak friend” (we all have them!) to help you out. Handling those things that you’ve been putting off will give you more energy and elevate your mood! So take on this week’s challenge and enjoy feeling just a little bit lighter!
Until next time, Have fun! Clean up!

Death into New Life: When my mom, and best friend (Rachel) passed away in 2005, I was left dead with her. In the depth of pain, I never felt or saw anything good in her passing.
