Realistic expectations; being sensible, allowing yourself to have everything in your life that you hanker for and approaching food with a passion and understanding for its post and splendor all play an integral role in regard to your outlook toward your choices of cuisine.

Food is a necessity of life, it fuels your body and keeps you satisfied so that you can complete your day; and it gratifies your tummy and fulfills your hunger. Throughout your years you have undoubtedly heard of the energy draining word known as “diet.” What typical diets do is they exile certain foods and beverages from your life, banning them from ever passing your lips again. Unfortunately, their banishment eventually catches up with you and you find yourself in a predicament where you now overindulge in the diet forbidden item. Expelling items from your life isn’t realistic, it is just an attempt to control the situation and it does not work. Never has and never will.

When you find yourself in a predicament and are challenged by the feelings of want and desire for a certain item, the worst thing you can do is tell yourself it is “off limits” or that you “can’t have it.” Creating a no touch, no taste position leads you to one road and that one road is filled with negative messages, no-good directions and generates feelings of failure and doom.

There is a more realistic approach, a more sensible route to follow when it comes to handling food and beverages that seem to initiate an all or nothing approach. Why not try them out for size.

~Alter your attitude toward the food item that tends to create feelings of stress and concern. Why not attempt to turn the power table and you hold the key for a change? ~Allow your challenging foods to enter your life on your terms. You control the situation. ~Permit each and every pleasurable morsel into your world on a regular basis and then there will be less of an inkling toward the need for a certain item. ~Do not deprive yourself of anything. ~Regard nothing as “off limits” because as soon as that happens you want it even more.

We are real women living real lives and eradicating food and beverage items from our world is completely unrealistic, impractical and highly unlikely to be a productive long-term outcome.
