Dear Dr. Romance:

I am a reader and a fan of It Ends with You: Grow Up and Out of Dysfunction. It's been a big help to me. Thank you! I am looking for a therapist in my city to help me sort through my life's direction. I have been living a life that someone else in my family wanted for me, and it's resulting in a lack of self-respect, thus bringing on feelings of exhaustion, frustration and some sadness. I've been unemployed for a little over a year, so I would need someone who accepts my insurance plan, which does have a mental health provision. What are your suggestions for locating a therapist? How can I "interview" candidates to determine whether the professional is a fit? Any advice, suggestions and/or referrals would be most appreciated.

Dear Reader: I'm so glad that you found the book helpful. It's great that you've decided to make your life what you want it to be, instead of what someone else wants for you. I do happen to have suggestions for finding a therapist. They are all outlined in "Guidelines for finding and using therapy wisely" You'll also find "Your Primary Relationship" "Four Steps to Success" and "Your Job on Earth" useful for getting in charge of your life and career. Good luck with your future.
