Dear Dr. Romance :
After reading: "Older Women, Younger Men Relationships" I feel compelled to write to you to express my disagreement. Age difference is more than an "adolescent worry", unless the older partner is still an adolescent. To say that life experience and emotional growth equalize is to say that life experience and emotional growth stop at twenty.
We have watched so called grown men embarrass themselves with this ridiculous practice for far too long. Why should we now encourage women to do the same.
Dear Reader:
I appreciate your point of view. I understand that it can be galling to see a large difference in ages in a couple, and especially for those who have been dumped in favor of a younger partner. But, people have the right to their own choices, whether they're good choices or bad. My conce
is that the relationships be mutually desired, respectful and functional. For more on successful dating, read my article "Guidelines for Successful Dating" Love Styles: How to Celebrate Your Differences explains how couples can work with their differences to create healthy relationships.
