Prologuen
When was the last time you became really excitednabout a book? Has something you read ever touched younin a way you knew would change your life? We believenthis book will have that effect for you, that as you worknthrough it you will experience a deeply satisfying sensenthat what you are reading will help you take greate
charge of your life and empower you to manifest you
heart’s deepest desires.
What do you want for your life? How do you want you
life to look next year, in five or ten years? Perhaps younare living an extraordinary life now and only a few tweaksnhere and there would bring you complete satisfaction.
Perhaps you long to totally re-invent your life or maybeneven harbor dreams of greatness. Regardless of how greatnor small the changes you want for your life, this book is anstep-by-step guide to help you achieve them. Do younhave any doubts that you can take charge of your lifenand make the changes you want? Just how high do youndare to aim?
Think for a moment of the many people across historynwho overcame insurmountable odds to achieve angreatness most of us would think unattainable. Modernnexamples include; Martin Luther King, an obscurenpreacher who unshackled a nation from segregation;
Terry Fox who, after losing a leg to cancer, ran across
Canada to raise public awareness and support for thenfight against the disease; and Sir Richard Branson whonovercame dyslexia to become one of the most notablenentrepreneurs the world has known. Each had tonovercome incredible odds to reach their greatness. Howndid they do it? Perhaps they were naturally gifted or hadngreat teachers and mentors. Quite likely, though, theynsimply knew how to hold firm to a dream, channel thei
inner assets, and use their exte
al resources until theyn{ PAGE }nreached their destinies. So the question you may want tonask yourself is, “how can I do that?”
Some have suggested that we merely need to focusnlong enough and hard enough on what we want and thenuniverse will oblige our desires. A score of books havenaddressed this process under various titles, including thenLaw of Intention and Desire (e.g., Chopra, 1994) and thenLaw of Attraction (e.g., Byrne, 2006). If you are among angrowing number of people who have becomendisenchanted with this promise, take heart; both ancientnteachings and modern science suggest there is a missingnpiece to the formula.
We believe in the power of clarity and vision to helpnmanifest our hearts desires, but we also know thatnwithout this missing element our hopes and dreams mostnoften remain a fantasy. This critical element is effectivenaction. This book will teach you to use effective action tonha
ess the power of change to your advantage. So hownthen are some of us so capable of manifesting ourndreams? The short answer is clarity, vision, and effectivenaction. Deep Coaching can teach you how to use thesenthree pillars of excellence to construct a solid foundationnfor your dreams and then build the life you desire.
“Harness the power of change and anything isnpossible” ~ G.S. Renfrey
Deep Coaching is an innovative approach to personalnchange. It is a process that teaches you how to determinenwhere you are in your life; identify your strengths, ninterests, and talents; recognize what you deeply value;nand then bring these together to help you create a visionnof your future that will bring you true satisfaction. Deep
Coaching helps you draw a road map to your dreams bynidentifying the goals that will lead to your vision andnteaches you how to harness and direct your energy tonensure you arrive at your desired destination.
Imagine what your life would be like if your energy andntalents became directed toward what you really wantedn{ PAGE }ninstead of being dissipated in too many directions? Hownmuch could you achieve? How empowered would younfeel? Imagine what you would do with your life then.
Knowing where you really want to go in life, knowing anpath that will take you there, and learning to channelnyour energies toward that destination is the promise andnpower of Deep Coaching.
This book includes exercises to step you through eachnphase of dream manifestation and personalntransformation. More than this, it can help you developnpowerful inner resources that will improve you
relationship with yourself, boost your self-confidence,nand transform your life experiences to bring you greate
joy in your everyday experiences.
Imagine that you had a personal coach who hasnalready achieved everything you’ve ever hoped for andnthat your coach was available to you 24/7. Whatndifferences would that make in your life? Imagine younhad a motivational expert available on demand and thatnthis expert knew you as well as you did, knew how tonexcite you, motivate you, and renew your enthusiasm.
Imagine what you could accomplish! Imagine if you had anconstant companion who could see your greatness andnbelieved in you when you couldn’t. How would that feel?
Deep Coaching will train you to develop your resourcesnthrough the creation of an Inner Coach.
Your Inner Coach is within you right now, waiting tonaccompany and support you on your life jou
ey. Withnyour Inner Coach beside you, urging you on when thingsnget tough and celebrating with you when you havensuccess, you will have the support and encouragementnyou’ll need to reach your dreams.
“It's never too late to be what you might havenbeen” ~ George Elliott
So what do you want for your life? Stop for a momentnand contemplate what your life would be like if you couldnreach your goals sooner than you expected? Can youn{ PAGE }nimagine what dreams and vistas lay beyond? If you arenlike most of us, you have far greater potential fornhappiness and achievement than you’ve realized so far.
With this book as your guide, you will learn some of thenmost effective techniques and processes known fornha
essing the power of change to create the life youndeeply desire. Perhaps the greatest gift this book has tonoffer is its capacity to help you identify powerful inne
resources that will help you in every area of your life.
“It's time to start living the life you'venimagined” ~ Henry James
Deep Coaching will take you on a jou
ey that will givenyou clarity about where you are in your life today, whatnyou deeply value, and what your interests and talentsnare; enable you to create a vision of your desired futurenand road map to get you there; and teach you not onlynhow to reach your dreams, however great or small, but tondo so in manner and style that befits you. Every jou
eynstarts with a step. Just as one step follows another, thisnis not the kind of book where you can read the lastnchapter to learn the secret. Deep Coaching is a process, njust as a jou
ey is a process of discovery over time. Joinnus as we travel through the book. We hope you will makendiscoveries along the way that will enhance the quality ofnyour life and deepen your appreciation for hownexceptional you are, and for how great your true potentialnis.

Harnessing the Power of Change
Introductio

"Change is inevitable. Change is constant"n~ Benjamin Disraeli
The above quote captures one of the most pervasive yetnignored realities of life. Change is happening right now, nall around you, and yet you likely perceive your self andnyour world as relatively constant. In fact, most of usnshare a deep human need to view our lives as just that:nstable, consistent, and predictable. That fantasy doesnmake day-to-day living feel safer and more comfortable, nbut ignoring the enveloping reality of change can makenus unavailable to valuable experiences and opportunities.
We pay a huge price for not being conscious of change:na lost appreciation for just how precious each moment ofnour lives is. Each moment is a unique gift of time andnplace that can never be recaptured or repeated. By beingnunaware of the constancy of change, we can mistakenlynpresume that our moments, days, and weeks areninterchangeable commodities and in doing so fail tonrealize the deepest appreciation for our existence.
Another cost of ignoring the reality of change, one thatnis most relevant to this book, is the failure to recognizenand use the golden gift it offers us each day. Change isnhappening whether we like it or not; if we fail to recognize
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }nit, change will happen to us; if we acknowledge and takenadvantage of it, change will happen for us. That is thencore focus of this book: directing change to happen fornyou in ways that will enhance your lives, enable us tonrealize our highest potential, and to manifest our deepestndreams.n
This book presents a synthesis of established andncutting edge concepts and methods to harness the powe
of change in a process we call Deep Coaching. It reflectsnnearly forty years of collective clinical and coachingnexperience and we believe it to be the most effectivenprocess available for self-directed personalntransformation and performance enhancement. Beforenwe go further, there are a few points we wish to make tonhelp ensure you get the most out of this book and out ofnyour life.
Getting The Most From This Book
Even the most effective methods of manifesting changenare only as good as the time and effort put into them.
Deep Coaching is a highly efficient process and shouldnplace minimal demand on your precious time and energy.
The results you obtain and the time they take to manifestnwill depend on how grand the changes are, your desirenfor them, and how well you focus your time and energies.
You will gain a clear understanding just what it will takento realize your dreams as you work through this booknand begin to develop your transformational road maps.
Deep Coaching is an amazing self-management toolnthat will serve you well in just about every aspect of you
life. For the changes that you have in mind or will soo

Trip Tip: Change is inevitable. Whether itnhappens for you or to you is a choice, a matte
of conscious action.
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }nformulate, you could hire a professional coach ornconsultant to guide you through a similar process withnsimilar results. Deep Coaching will enable you to avoidnthe expense of hiring a professional coach, to reducenyour reliance on a coach if you use one now, and mostnimportantly enhance your capacity to take control of you
life and direct it from within.
Each of us can benefit from outside help when we takenon an important endeavor and we anticipate that you willnwant to use it at some point. With that in mind we havenincluded a section that will help you determine hownmuch exte
al support you may need and the best waysnto get the most out of it.
Finally, not all changes that we might want are equal.
Some can add innumerably to the overall quality of ournlives and happiness, while others can actually lessennthem. The changes that are most beneficial are almostnalways congruent with our truest interests and take usncloser to what we deeply value. The process ofnmanifesting this sort of change can maintain ournattention and enthusiasm even in the face of seriousnsetbacks.
Changes that lessen the quality of our lives are mostnoften those that require us to embrace what we have littleninterest in and so take us away from what we reallynwant. So why would anyone opt for the latter? Usuallynbecause of a lack of clarity for where one is in life, whatnone’s talents and interests are, and what one reallynwants and why. The process of manifesting this sort ofnchange presents a challenge to your focus andnmotivation. In chapter 3 you will find further discussionsnof this and tools to help ensure that the changes you setnfor yourself are the right ones for you.
Whenever we set our hearts in a desired direction it isnoften helpful to think of it as embarking on a specialnjou
ey. Throughout this book there are exercises in selfexplorationnand awareness that we’ve designed to help
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }nyou plan the jou
ey that is right for you and stay onnyour chosen path until you arrive at your desiredndestination. We strongly suggest you begin a Deep

al today to record your process. It can benused as a workbook for the exercises to come and forndocumenting your progress. Before we go further, nhowever, we’d like you to engage in a brief fantasy.
Take a moment to imagine the following scenario.
You are living in New York and one day, as you arentraveling on a crowded subway, you read anmagazine article on San Francisco. As you read, thenflickering of the train’s lights, the noise of the rails, nand the gritty scent of the city fade away and younare captivated by images of sunshine, cable cars, nand blue bay waters. You can almost hear gulls andnseals at the docks and smell the freshness of the airncoming in from the Pacific.
Your stop comes and you are roused from you
fantasy. As you leave the train for a busy day atnwork, the vision lingers and you feel a powerfulndesire to visit the city by the bay.
The desire builds through the morning and younrepeatedly pull out the magazine and fantasize anwalk through San Francisco’s Marina district, a boatnride on the bay, and a side trip to wine country. Younimagine the sights, sounds, and smells of it all andnyou create a powerful and compelling sense of whatnit would feel like to be there.
At lunch you come to a decision; you are going tontake a few long overdue weeks of vacation to realizenyour vision and visit San Francisco. For the rest ofnthe workday your thoughts are crowded withnpossibilities: How will I go: train, plane, ornautomobile?
That night, as you sit back and enjoy a nice glass of
Napa Valley old vine Zinfandel, the thought of takingna long road trip quickens your heartbeat withnexcitement and creates a warm sense of pleasure.
You’ve decided. You will drive across country to Sa

Francisco.
We are all on a jou
ey through life. Some of us moventhrough it and hope for the best while others move withnintension toward authentic and extraordinary lives. Innthe coming days and weeks of working through thisnbook, you will learn to take conscious control over thendirection of your jou
ey and to reach the destinationsnyou deeply desire. We look forward to sharing a portionnof your jou
ey with you through this book.
The Law Of Attractio

A lot of excited attention has been directed toward then“Law of Attraction” in recent years. The best selling book,
The Secret, is only the latest in a score of writings on thisntimeless principle. The fundamental concept is simple: ifnwe imagine what we want, act and feel as though wenalready have it, express enthusiasm and gratitude fornhaving it in our life, be open to receiving it, it willnmanifest for us.
This has a powerful appeal and there are good reasonsnto believe in its power; both science and metaphysics cannbe used to substantiate the claim that what we focus onnin our lives will grow and what we take our attentionnaway from will shrink. But is it really so simple that wenonly have to imagine what we want clearly and stronglynenough and somehow the universe will grant ourndesires? Probably not: it just does not seem to hold thatnwishes alone manifest into physical reality.
If you are one of the many who have becomendisillusioned with the promise of the Law of Attraction, ntake heart; there is a missing piece of the formula tonrealizing your dreams that other ageless teachings andnmode
science addresses. The missing piece is effectivenaction.
“Wise effort can be disce
ed as the differencenbetween someone who simply fantasizes and
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }nsomeone who is on the path toward thei
dreams” ~ Aadil Palkhivala
The Law of Attraction speaks to the importance ofnhaving a clear and desirable vision of what we want innour lives and to maintaining a steady focus on thatnvision. The metaphysical rationale comes down to this:nby creating a clear vision of what we desire, bynsustaining focus on that vision, and by holding annunwavering intention to bring the dream to life, we directnthe creative powers within the universe to manifest ourndesire into physical form. It can help us focus on thenpositive in our lives and give us a deep sense of beingnsupported and cared for.
Those two benefits alone are worth the effort as theynare emotionally basic to a healthy and happy perspectivenon life. There are other psychological benefits of engagingnthe Law of Attraction. Among them are:
1. having a sense of connection to the powerful forcesnof the universe;
2. assuming full responsibility for one’s life and fornone’s destiny;
3. encouraging a belief in a desired and positivenfuture.
Perhaps the greatest benefit stems from the fact thatnwe appear to be hard-wired to move toward what we arenfocused on. A simple example of this principle was madenclear to one of the co-authors during advanced drive
training.
The most important lesso
I learned about how tonavoid an accident was to ‘look where I wanted to go,nnot at what I wanted to avoid.’ While maneuveringnthrough a demanding pylon course at high speed itnbecame all too clear that the car seemed to gonwherever I focused my attention. Look at a pylon, Inwas certain to hit it. Look at the opening, I wasncertain to make it through. It was like magic, like a

Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }nunseen force was directing me through or into harm'snway.
But it wasn’t magic; it was biology and psychology. Wenare each designed this way by nature, a manifestation ofnthe creative power of the universe; wherever our focusngoes, the rest of us will follow. What we focus on, we willntend to “steer” toward through our everyday actionsnhowever small they may be.
You are what your deep, driving desire is. Asnyour desire, so is your will. As your will, so isnyour deed. As your deed, so is your destinyn~ Brihadaranyaka Upanishad IV.4.5
Your deeds, your actions are what ultimately lead tonthe manifestation of your dreams. Dreaming is annecessary beginning, but action is what makes the dreamna reality. Like someone sitting in New York fantasizingnabout being in San Francisco, all the thinking andndreaming in the world will not automatically result innbeing teleported there or an airplane ticket beingndelivered to your door. Action has to be taken by you tonmake it happen.
For example: Let’s say you are sitting in New Yorknfantasizing about being in San Francisco, how could thatndaydream become a reality? If you had the time andnfinances available, you could simply call up a travelnagent and book a package. Alte
ately you could plan anroad trip for your summer holiday or at least begin tonresearch places of interest in the Bay Area. As long asnyou place sufficient attention on visiting San Francisco, neven small acts, such as buying a map, will catalyzenfurther steps and result in the dream becomingnmanifested.
A jou
ey of a thousand miles begins with ansingle step ~ Chinese proverb.
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }
Through its creative power the universe has giftedneach of us with the ability to manifest our desires, tontake a thought or vision and turn it into a thing ofnsubstance. The only way your dreams can materialize innthe physical world is through action. The universe willnsupport you in this creative effort; and it may even seemnat times that things come together for you effortlessly, nbut your actions are invariably responsible.
“The mode in which the inevitable comes tonpass is through effort” - Oliver Wendell Holmes
Deepak Chopra speaks about a point of spiritualndevelopment where you have only to think and thenthought is manifested: “Ultimately you come to a statenwhere you do nothing and accomplish everything”.1 Thisncan be taken as part literal and part allegorical: whennyour deepest desires are aligned with your intentions andnyour passionate interests, then the pursuit of you
dreams can seem effortless and their manifestation intonthe realm of physical reality can seem miraculous. Thisnbook is intended to help you achieve this alignment sonthat realizing your dreams may seem effortless.
What Deep Coaching Is and Is Not
So what is Deep Coaching? Put simply, Deep Coachingnis a process that empowers the practitioner to accrue thenbenefits of professional coaching while learning the artnand science of self-directed living. It is intended to helpnyou solve the puzzle of how best to optimize the quality ofnyour life, realize your potential, and manifest you
dreams. It is derived in part from professional coaching.
Professional Coaching is a relatively new personalnservice that helps the clients set and reach personallyndetermined goals. The process usually involves clarifyingnwhat changes the client wants; determining the best
1 The Seven Spiritual Laws Of Success: A Practical Guide To ThenFulfillment Of Your Dreams. Deepak Chopra. Amber-Allen, 1994, P. 54
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }ngoals to aim for; creating a road map to them; and thennproviding the structure, feedback, and motivationalnsupport needed to keep the client focused and on track.
A coach is an expert in the technology of change andndoes not need a high degree of expertise in the area anclient is interested in pursuing to be effective.
Deep Coaching is learning to coach yourself and thennsome. In reference to taking a road-trip, it is like havingnyour coach ride shotgun for you, beside you for the entirenjou
ey where he or she will be your constantncompanion, navigator and motivator. We also intend tonshow you how Deep Coaching can provide severalnbenefits that professional coaching cannot and some thatnare usually only derived from counseling and therapy. Itnis not, however, a substitute for therapy when therapy isnreally needed.
Deep Coaching can be helpful to anyone and everyone, nbut it is not intended to correct significant emotionalnproblems such as anxiety and depression. Deep
Coaching can help you cultivate a better relationshipnwith yourself, a more positive perception of your life, andnhelp you live more effectively. As such it can be helpfulnas an adjunct to counseling and therapy but it shouldnnot be selected as a primary means to “clinical” orn“therapeutic” change.
We have included a self-assessment guide below tonhelp determine if you would also benefit from counseling, ntherapy, or mentoring. To explore whether it would benwise to seek counseling or therapy in addition to Deep
Coaching please consider these questions carefully.
1. Are you significantly depressed or do you suffe
from high levels of anxiety / emotional distress?
2. Are the changes you want primarily about reducingnanxiety, feelings of depression, or some othe
emotional / mental distress?
3. Have you recently thought about suicide?
4. Do you have an addiction problem?
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }
If you answered, “yes” to one or more of the abovenquestions then we advise you to consult with a qualifiednmental health practitioner regarding the nature of you
needs and recommended treatment options. To state ournposition again, Deep Coaching should not be you
primary means of help with the sorts of issues listednabove; however, it can be a brilliant addition to any othe
healing services you may engage.
Now to explore whether you would be wise to seeknconsultations or mentoring in addition to Deep Coachingnplease consider these questions carefully:
1. Are you interested in effecting positive changes innyour work environment or coworkers that are notnbased primarily on your actions?
2. Are you looking for guidance in a specialized areanof your life such as fitness training, business, orncareer development?
3. Do you feel you lack any specific knowledge needednto make the changes you want and believe youncannot find this through personal research?
If you answered yes to one or more of these, you mightnwant to consider consulting with one or more experts innthe field(s) involved. This may lead you to hiring anspecialist (e.g., fitness trainer, business consultant) andncould lead to a valuable mentoring relationship.
You will be able to create profound changes in you
career through Deep Coaching but these changes will benmediated through changes in yourself. Attempting tonchange co-workers or other elements of a worknenvironment is often a poor choice if you are not in anposition to use legitimate and appropriate authority to donso. Consulting with experts in your field isnrecommended.
Finally, if you have attempted to use soundnapproaches to personal change in the past yet somethingninexplicable has always prevented the progress you’dnhoped for, you may have an emotional or cognitive block
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }ngetting in the way of personal achievement. It may alsonbe that the goals you set for yourself were not the rightnones for you. You can explore these possibilities furthe
through this book but you may also want to consult withna coach or counselor about what may have gone wrongnfor you.
By considering your answers to these questions younshould now have a reasonable idea about your needs andnbe ready to move forward. Let’s now look at a core part ofnthe process you will soon be learning: the Integral
Perspective.
The Integral Approach
You are likely to be at least somewhat familiar withnwhat is known as the holistic perspective; a holisticnapproach to any subject matter takes into accountnmultiple facets of that subject. A holistic perspective onnyour physical health would look at the usual indicatorsnthat most physicians focus on (e.g., blood pressure, nblood lipid profile, the presence or absence of disease, nand so on) but would also look at other factors that havena significant impact on health, such as emotional wellnbeing, exercise and sleeping habits, nutrition, quality ofnyour physical environment et cetera.
A holistic view of your life in general would expand toninclude mental and spiritual factors, environment, worknand social lives, lifestyle, and any other aspect relevantnto you.
The power of the holistic perspective is that it providesnmore information about why a situation or conditionnexists and more options for making changes. Viewing ournlives and activities through a holistic lens can help usnappreciate the interplay between the many aspects of ournlives and help us to align them in a harmonious balance.
A key assumption of holism is that when the elements ofnour lives we are in balance, we are happier and more
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }neffective in everything we do.n
In the next chapter you will begin your transformativenprocess by using a holistic model to assess your lifensatisfaction. The Integral Life Index is a tool we designednto help give you a broad perspective on how you feelnabout your life today. This will be an initial snapshot ofnyourself. You will then be able to take similar snapshotsnof yourself at various points in the future to assess thenresults of your transformative work, very much like anbody builder might use photos taken every two monthsnto gage progress.
We don’t stop there, however. A central feature of thenapproach used in this book is that it will take you a stepnor two beyond the holistic and into the realm of thenIntegral.
The Integral model and tools you will learn are basednon the Integral Model espoused by writers such as Ke

Wilber [cf. 2000a2, 2000b3]. That model is the product ofna remarkable body of work that has accumulated ove
the past few decades. It is a bold attempt to create a waynto encompass as many perspectives as possible innunderstanding our selves and the world about us. ThenIntegral Model is at the cutting edge of the humannconsciousness movement and you will be learning how tonuse it to ensure that the changes you create for yourselfnin the coming months and years are really the best fornyou.
The complete Integral Model is unnecessarily complexnfor our purposes so we have simplified it for this book.

Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }
Think of the Integral model as a lens through which youncan examine your life and the changes you will benworking toward from three different perspectives.
Combined with the Integral Life Index, it will give you anrich viewpoint on yourself and the changes you want tonmanifest while remaining simple and easy to use.
Learning to explore and plan your life from an Integralnperspective will enable you to make the best choices fornyourself, those that will yield the greatest benefits.
The Integral lens we use is based on threenperspectives: that of the Self, Culture, and Nature.
Self - This is the perspective Personal consciousness;nthe world, inside and out, that you experience throughnyour own senses. When you are aware of your bodynthrough your sensations, when you are aware of what isngoing on within your mind through your consciousness, nwhen you are aware of the outside world through you
senses, you are experiencing reality from this first level.
As an example of this, let us suppose you decide tonbecome a vegetarian. The impact you think this decisionnwould have on you personally and how you feel aboutnthat would be from this first level perspective. Maybe younwould feel good because you would be living morencongruently with some personal ethical values you hold.
Perhaps you would simultaneously feel a loss becausenyou really love prime rib and know you will miss it. Itnmay be that you expect to feel better physically becausenyour body does not digest meats very well. It is annentirely internal and subjective perspective, thenperspective of the Self.
Culture – This is the perspective of your socialncommunity, how things might appear from a collectivenpoint of view, through the eyes of “us”. When you thinknabout how being a vegetarian will impact your immediatenand distant social world, you might imagine yourself atnodds with your friends at restaurants because they arenall big meat eaters. You may also imagine that you could
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }nbecome a positive role model for them and at minimumnyou would be doing your part to reduce the demand fornmeat which would in turn contribute to changes in thenmarket place. You might even imagine this helping tonreduce the negative impact that meat production isnhaving on the quality of life for many around the world.
It is an entirely exte
al point of view but it blendsncollective forms of the subjective and objective. This isnthe perspective of the Culture.
Nature - This perspective is that of the natural world, none step removed from the human experience. This is thenperspective often thought of as the rational, scientificnviewpoint of things wherein people and all of ournactivities are seen as a part of the whole but in andetached, objective way.
From this perspective you would consider the impactnof becoming a vegetarian on the physical environment asna whole. Perhaps you would see this as having a smallnbut positive impact on the biosphere. You might also looknat what impact your choice could have on thenmarketplace from the impartial lens of social science orneconomics. This third perspective is exte
al and entirelynobjective; it is the perspective of Nature.
In terms of our road trip metaphor, the Selfnperspective would be your own experience of the trip. ThenCulture perspective would be that of how your friendsnand loved one’s view the jou
ey and the impact you willnleave on the people you encounter along the way. ThenNature perspective might include a detached, bird’s eyenview of the two-legged creature as it treks across a vastnlandmass and the effect it has on the other inhabitantsnof the biosphere.
As mentioned, this combination of perspectives is ansimplification of the Integral Model. For those interestednin learning more about the full model refer to AppendixnA, which is a brief primer and includes references to
Harnessing The Power Of Change { PAGE }nassist deeper exploration. For the rest of this book, nhowever, you will be using the simplified model to explorenyour life and desired changes from these threenperspectives. In the next chapter, you will begin you
transformative process in earnest.n

I also coach and mentor other coaches one on one and in group coaching tele-seminars. Coach Michele Caron and I run a coach mentoring tele-seminar on a regular basis.

Balance is important for me so in addition to coaching, I also write, volunteer and pursue yoga and several hobbies. I just published my first book, Deep Coaching: A Guide to Self Directed Living, which is available in eBook or printed versions through the link.

I also write a regular career column in Job Postings magazine called Ask The Coach. I was recently interviewed by Tanner Stransky for his new book Find Your Inner Ugly Betty: 25 Career Lessons for Young Professionals Inspired by TV Shows, which is now available.
