Reiki practitioners regarding distant reiki attunements, my personal view and one shared by many others, is that if distant healing works then so do distant attunements.

When you learn Usui Reiki level 2 you are taught the distant healing symbol and how to send healing through time and space. Distance between people becomes no object and you can send healing to anyone, anywhere in the world, you can send healing to individuals, groups, countries, etc. You also learn how to send Reiki to heal past events and how to send healing in advance to a person or for an event. This is what we learn at level 2 and it is accepted, so why not apply the same principles to attunements? If you can send healing then surely you can send an attunement distantly too.
What is an energy attunement?
We are all made up of energy, the universal life force flows through us, we can't see it, but we know that it is there. An energy attunement is an initiation to a high vibrational frequency of energy. It is passed from someone who has already been attuned to that energy frequency. When you accept an energy attunement, you open to a higher vibrational frequency that brings healing and alignment with the highest aspects of yourself.
Remember - Attunements DO NOT come from the person who is giving them. This person is just a channel, they come from the universal source. It makes no difference whether the person sending the attunement is in the same room as you or in another country. What is important is your intention to receive the energy into your energy field.

The key I believe is in INTENTION
Any form of energy work has to start with intention. A distant attunement it is no different, both the teacher and the student must set their intention. When we firmly believe that something is going to happen, in this case that the energies are going to be passed onto another person and they will be attuned or aligned with those energies then that's what happens. Of course the student also has to firmly believe that they are being aligned to the energies, any scepticism may cause an energy block.

It is also important to remember that once attuned to new energies you have to actively use them and work with them. You may feel a change in your energy field during and after an attunement, many people experience healing depending on the particular attunement received. But like anything else it's what you do with it that counts! Once you are attuned it's up to you to embrace and bring these new energies into your life.
