Caring for your liver is essential if you want to keep fit and healthy. To do this, many people opt for a liver cleanse. There are many products on the market which will help you do this but if you are looking for a home-made recipe then you may want to try the lemon juice detox.

You can simply add lemon juice to a glass of water which you sip during a meal. This will help you stomach digest your food and prevent undigested food entering the blood stream. This syndrome is sometimes called a leaky gut. The liver treats the undigested food as contaminates, even the tiniest food particles shouldn't be in your bloodstream. The liver filters them out, improving the digestion process relieves the liver of this filtering load.

If you suffer from gallstones, lemon juice can help too. Gallstones are calcified bile usually surrounding a parasite or bacteria, in an attempt to destroy the bacteria. Once you develop gallstones you can find great difficulty removing them and because gallstones are porous they can become a breading ground for further infection, compounding the problem.

Another way to take lemon juice is to add it to olive oil and Epsom salts which you take at specified times during the day and evening of treatment. When on this treatment you'll need to go on a non-fat diet for the day before the cleanse and the day off. Since the bile isn't being used to breakdown the fat it will build up. The built up bile add pressures to push the stones out of the gallbladder.

Because lemon juice contains vitami
C which is an antioxidant, it will help your liver remove certain contaminants from the blood stream and neutralize the effects of the free radicals.
