Don’t Ever Give Up On Your Dream!

I very clearly remember a moment in October of 2009 when I was on the verge of giving up on my dream. I was stuck in a place I had been stuck in many times before and I couldn’t see a way through it this time. I was holding on to the end of the rope and wondering if it would be easier to just let go. In the very next moment it became even more clear to me that giving up was not an option. There was a voice inside me that told me, ‘No way sistah! This is your purpose you’re fighting for; this is your dream, this why you were put on this Earth. So you need to suck it up, quit playing small and find a way to make this work.’ It was exactly the kick in the pants I needed to regroup, refocus and recommit to my dream. It was almost as if I had passed a test of sorts, because as soo I did all that, new solutions began to arrive, almost immediately. You see this journey of fulfilling your dream is exactly that, a journey. I’m sure you’ve heard it many different ways, “The joy is in the Journey”, It’s the Journey, not the Destination”. Whenever I would hear that I would think, ‘Blah, Blah, Blah . . . I want results and I want them now!” It was that way of thinking that caused me to be stuck. When you are in that energy, you are vibrating at a low frequency. That is the energy of impatience, frustration and irritation and that kind of energy will only attract you MORE of that kind of energy. No wonder I kept finding myself stuck in the same place! When I recommitted to my dream, I felt hopeful, excited, empowered. My confidence was elevated and my passion was reignited. Now THAT is a point of attraction that will support your every desire. It also helped me to see that all the guidance I needed was waiting for me just outside my door. All I had to do was let it in. Remember I told you that almost immediately a solution arrived to move me through my obstacle? The next step was right there for me to take action on, all I needed to do was change my vibrational output so I could match up to it and receive it. So where are you in all this? Are you about to give up? Are you close to the end of your rope, feeling frustrated and impatient? If you are it might serve you to take a good look at what you are pursuing to make sure you are on the right path, and if you are then it’s time to recommit! Here are a few suggestions that may help: Your Assignment It’s jou aling time! Create your sacred space and allow yourself 10 – 15 minutes of uninterrupted time for this jou aling exercise. Begin by clarifying the path you are on. Look around, is this where you want to be? Nothing will give you more resistance than if you are traveling in the wrong direction. So check in and make sure you are pursuing your dream, on the path to fulfilling your purpose. If not, take action to redirect. If you are certain this is what you are meant to do, and a good way to test that is to do what I did. Consider walking away from it. What does it feel like when you do that? How charged is your emotion when you see yourself turning your back on what you are doing, on a scale of 1 – 10? You probably don’t even need the scale, if this is your purpose you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the direction in which to continue. The only thing left to do now is recommit. This is a declaration to yourself, your Higher power and those you are meant to serve, that you mean business. This means adopting a no-excuses approach to taking every scary step to move forward, solve problems, take risk, play big and all the other requirements you will encounter on YOUR journey. So here’s what I encourage you to do in your journal. Write the following three letters:

1. One letter to your Self. What conversation do you need to have with yourself to make this recommitment solid? Be your own coach and champion that part of you that needs a boost of confidence. This is where you do what needs to be done. Dig deep and get REAL.
2. One letter to God. Declare your recommitment and ASK FOR GUIDANCE. What I know for a FACT is that you can’t do it alone. Why would you want to anyway? The magic behind the curtain has so many more resources than you could ever imagine. Partner up with Divine intelligence and your dreams will flow into fruition.
3. The final letter will be to those whom you will serve. Share with them your challenges (as they are facing similar ones right now) and let them know you are on your way. You are here to serve them and you are doing everything it takes to find your way to them. Make no mistake, if you have this passion, there is a group of people out there who are waiting for it in the form of the solution to their problem.

Now that you have recommitted to yourself, called in the troops for support and let your people know you are on your way, there is nothing left for you to do than to take action on the opportunities that come your way.
