The News is putting us in the tank.
Read all about it.
If you dare, read the newspapers, the inte
et news, and if you are really daring turn on the 24 hour news networks. See what they are all saying about the Economy, the gas prices, the mortgage situation, credit card debt, inflation, recession.
It is a feeding frenzy. Things have not been this good for the news for quite awhile. If you want to know what your mind looks like watch and read all of this. It is all negative, extremely negative and very fear-provoking. And, our minds can’t get enough of it. We have to know, we just have to know. Our mind is saying, what are we supposed to do put our head in the sand like an ostrich?
Actually, what is called for is pulling our head out of the sand. What is called for is seeing what is really going on. Negative sells, negative sells big. What if the headline in the newspaper, on the inte
et or on the 24 hours news channel said, Everything is going Great. How many people are going to go for that? How many people just have to buy a newspaper with that headline, click on that inte
et site, or tune into that channel? We wouldn’t be interested. Our mind would not be interested. Our mind is interested in negative.
The negative news says something and the world is pushed into fear of being wiped out. Most people see themselves as victims of whatever is going on around them, victims of the economy, the gas price and all the rest. The news is negative, so they go negative.
Here is how it all starts. One of the news organizations reports news. “Experts,” my how we are fearful of “experts,” some “expert” says something and the whole world acts as if what that person or group of people says is absolutely correct and we take action based on these “expert” opinions. Masses of people take action or maybe better put, go into inaction, apathy. And, of course the prophesy is fulfilled. Things that so called experts say, becomes true because we believe it and act on it.
Our mind is saying, the price of my house has gone down, my mortgage is being foreclosed on, the price of gas is $4.75, I can’t pay my debts, I have a bleeding ulcer over all of this and that is the reality of it. If we take a close look, we see what has happened. There has been a proverbial, run on the bank, panic has spread. And now we are in a panic ourselves.
If we look closely, we can see it is not about the money, it is not about the ulcer or whatever health problem, it is about fear and frustration. The cause of our suffering and misery is fear and frustration.
Well, we ask, what am I supposed to do? The mortgage company is taking my house, the tow truck is taking my car, I don’t have the money to even get to work now.

***Avoid = Avoiding
Think about an Attachment and we may experience a nice warm-fuzzy feeling. We are of course attached to our family, our homes, our relationships, money, our beautiful stuff, and so forth. Think about an Aversion and what happens – instantly we are facing some resistance. If you are paying attention you’ll instantly notice a clutch indicating that there is something needing our attention. Larry Crane and the staff refer to “the clutch” as a pocket of negativity, ringing like a doorbell to get our attention.

Anger Can Be Positive
Although uncontrolled anger can be quite costly, when channeled properly anger can also be very positive. Among other things, anger can motivate us to work harder to accomplish our goals. This could mean playing harder on the defensive end in a basketball game, studying longer for an exam, or putting in more time when learning to play an instrument. Anger can sometimes lead to newer, higher level goals, possibly fueled by the desire to prove others wrong.
