Embracing the struggle doesn’t mean to enjoy struggling. It means to learn from the struggle. So often we don’t learn from what we are going through nor do we take the time to enjoy what we have because we are too busy hoping for what we don’t have. Therefore at every moment of our life we are ignoring the present and always longing for a better future not realizing that we are draining the power from the present moment.
I always picture the journey to success as climbing a mountain. When you think about it you realize that all the lessons are in the climb. It’s in the climb where your best friends are made. It’s in the climb where your strength is built and your character is formed. It’s in the climb where you have to appreciate every step you take. No matter how small the piece of surface is, you appreciate that you are on solid ground.
So as you are longing for a better future, whatever it may be, don’t forget to enjoy the climb. Learn the lessons life is trying to teach you. Allow each obstacle to build strength and character because it’s in the moments of adversity where that will be revealed. Learn how to be hungry for more, but also content with what you have. It’s at that point in your life that you will find complete balance and pure happiness.
