Choose healthy foods for the skin.
I want to add to that quote: "If you're pretty on the inside, it will also show on the outside!". That is a fact. Your skin is your body’s largest organ and needs nutrition like all your other organs. Good nutrition slows down the aging process, including the aging of the skin. Nutrients and foods that benefit your skin also benefit your whole body. A skin cell lives about a month. So each and every day, your body is busy making new cells to replace those that have died off, and how healthy those new cells are is directly determined by how well you've been eating and what type of skin care products you use. Make sure you only use chemical free, organic top skin care products as the chemicals you put on your skin ends up inside you. Find below a list with some of the best foods for the skin..Black grapes and other healthy foods for the skin.
- Black Grapes - contains resveratrol, a very strong antioxidant. Red wine is a good source of reserveratrol but as alcohol is bad for your skin and health it's better to eat grapes.
- Tomato - Lycopene is a pigment that gives vegetable and fruits, such as tomatoes, pink grapefruit and watermelon, their red coloring. Lycopene also exhibit strong anti-oxidant capabilities that serve to lessen effects of free radicals. Tomatoes and tomato juice are the best sources for lycopene but also watermelon, guava, apricots and pink grapefruit provide lycopene.
- Carrots - is loaded with vitami A, which helps balance the pH of your skin's surface, making it just acidic enough to fend off harmful bacteria. Use both raw and cooked.
