Exercises for Health – Part 1
After all these years, one of the most pernicious symptoms of ‘dis-ease’ is constipation.
Efficient and regular bowel action is essential to health.
Unless the end-products of digestion are expelled automatically and efficiently, it follows that a retention of toxic waste must result.
Whenever toxic matter is delayed, it is inevitably re-absorbed into the bloodstream.
To achieve normal bowel action, many factors have to be taken into account.
• Our food must be correctly proportioned.
• We must eat as little as will satisfy our wants.
• The quality of the food is most important.
• A digestive system which is habitually over-loaded or which has to handle foods which are predominantly acid-forming, must be subject to constipation sooner or later.
• Nervous tension, lack of rest, emotional disturbances, all cause enervation and lead to constipation.
• Our abdominal muscles must have sufficient tone.
• The intestines themselves must have tone - If we allow them to become flabby it will be impossible for the faeces to be carried along efficiently.
If you are suffering from this most disagreeable of conditions and are not having success with your efforts to alleviate the symptoms we suggest that you try the following set of exercises as part of your ‘Natural Lifestyle Regeneration Program.’n • This is a special exercise which, if combined with the ‘Squatting technique,’ is designed to encourage, establish and maintain normal efficient bowel action.
• It should be performed each morning a few minutes after waking.
Exercise # 1.
1. Lie on your right side with your knees drawn up a little towards the waist.
2. Move the abdomen up and down vigorously one hundred times.
3. Breathe in and out rhythmically with every third movement of the abdomen.
4. Then turn on to the back and raise the knees by bringing the feet towards the buttocks.
5. Repeat the abdominal movements and breathing 100 times.
6. Finally, turn on to the left side and repeat the abdominal movements and breathing another 100 times.
These exercises should be followed immediately by the Squatting technique.
Exercise # 2. - Squatting Technique:
1. Having completed the 300 abdominal movements you should now squat on the floor by sitting on your heels against a wall.
2. Keep the knees as close as possible to the chest.
3. The feet must be flat on the floor. Do not allow the heels to rise above the floor. (If this position is uncomfortable or you are having difficulty attaining the ‘squat’ – place a ‘lift’ of approximately 2 inches (5 cm) beneath your heels. (A book, piece of wood etc. will suffice.)
4. Sit in this squatting position for from five to ten minutes - It may be advisable to read a book or a newspaper while squatting.
5. At the conclusion of the squatting session you should go immediately to the toilet.
6. Sit with the trunk bent forward until there is a natural desire for defecation - Do NOT force the bowels to evacuate.
7. Wait for five minutes.
If not successful, you should repeat Exercises and the Squatting technique and return to the toilet once more.
It is absolutely essential that normal bowel action be achieved without straining the abdominal muscles.
Persevere until evacuation occurs without straining or special effort
This routine should be patiently followed every morning until normal muscle tone has been developed.
When this has been established the bowels should function normally a few minutes after rising every morning.
Medical philosophy generally agrees that… ‘There is no rule about how frequently you need to go to the toilet.’
However, the natural philosophy of health indicates that a bowel movement per meal is in accordance with the natural cycles of the digestive system.
However, in order for this statement to have any validity, a diet based on the principles of natural living must be adhered to.
If you are unsure of the principles of Natural Living and Natural Healing we suggest that you contact a Nature Cure practitioner.
Health is natural.

7 Benefits of Eating Raw Foods
"Raw Foods" is a popular phrase these days that is often misunderstood, yet represents a powerful, grass roots health movement. Some people shun the idea, not knowing what it means. Others embrace the idea, not knowing what it means. And that's no wonder, since there are many different interpretations of what it means to be on a raw food diet. Personally, I advocate a plant-based raw food diet. In other words, I suggest eating green leafy vegetables, sea vegetables, other vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted seeds, and fruit.
