Food… A necessarily evil or a welcome friend?
Written by Lana Nelson
Food. On the one hand, one of our greatest pleasures. On the other hand, one of our greatest challenges.
We love to eat, and more than that, we have to eat. Food, air, and water are primary requirements to sustain life.
Yet, it’s the kind of foods we consume that can either help us or severely hinder us.
Scary News
Food news is major news these days. Pesticides and chemicals, processed foods, salt, sugar, bad fats, good fats, organic, not organic, GMO, BHA, BHT, and GRAS – yikes! What does it all mean? (GRAS stands for Generally Recognized as Safe, a term thrown out to cover the producer’s backside when a GRAS food is later reported to cause cancer!)
Just when we feel comfortable with the way our refrigerators are stocked some news flash blurts out, “Don’t eat that!”
Amid all this controversy and conflicting information, only you, armed with the knowledge of how food really works and your highest inner wisdom, can determine what should you ingest.
Let’s start with how food impacts you and your health.
DNA
Deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, is the molecule in each cell that contains and carries instructions to the cells used in the reproduction, growth, development, and functioning of all humans, animals, plants, and living things – called the genetic code. There is a popular saying that humans and bananas share 50 percent of their DNA.
Does that mean we are half related to a banana? No – even if you have a family member who is quite slippery. What sharing 50 percent of our DNA with a banana really means is that both humans and bananas have many of the same particular genes that code for certain functions, such as cell growth.
All DNA is a code consisting of four letters: A, C, G, and T, which stand for adenine, cytosine, guanine, and thymine. They are the building blocks that code for the amino acids all proteins are made of.
All living things share the same basic genes. What makes humans different from animals and plants is the order in which these basic genes are organized and when they are activated, called sequencing. That difference in order and activation is what creates each individual living thing, from a banana to a fruit fly to a human.
It is amazing that we share DNA with all living things, including all foods from living sources. This is likely the reason why whole, living foods are so important for our health and healing.
Even though they share the same basic DNA, each individual plant and animal food vibrates with the energy of its own individual frequency that I call its Food Code.
Your body is a vessel of vibrating energy requiring consumption of the best energy available from food, air, water, and sunlight if you desire the most energetic body possible. When consumed, this energy actually becomes your body. “You are what you eat” is true.
Choose Your Foods Wisely
With The Food Codes™ you do select foods that are best for your particular needs. However, keep in mind the word food means just that, whole, healthy, vibrant food, I’m not referring to chemical laden, processed foods.
You are best to eat foods that are brightly colored, including fruits and vegetables. Yet, you do want to make sure that each food you select is what your body agrees with. Thus, the reason for muscle testing.

For some people, dairy works great, but not for others. It’s the same with meats, poultry, fish and nuts.
Before filling your cart with foods that may not agree with you, take a few minutes to muscle test from each category.
Your body will thank you for this.
