How you feel about a certain food item that you choose to include in your lifestyle and the role that it plays in regard to your thoughts and feelings for this particular food item goes much deeper than just the item and label itself.
Stamping a particular food in your life with a tag titled “bad choice” has a tendency to promote feelings of failure and tends to invoke a sense of weakness when the certain “bad choice” is consumed. Let’s face it, there has always been and there always will be certain foods that do a body good and then others that are not very becoming of fine health and wellbeing. With that being said, enjoying all of your choices in moderation is what we are striving for and there is absolutely no reason why taking pleasure in a certain chosen item in your life should dictate negative feelings.
As you attempt to create new habits and adjust old attitudes with healthy, realistic outlooks and approaches it would be extremely beneficial to adjust your outlook when negative banter seems to take the wheel. When push comes to shove and we state the obvious, it isn’t the food that is “bad” and detrimental to your health and wellness goals, it is you who consumes too much, too often that is the problem. When you decide things aren’t going your way that it was the food’s fault, hence the title “bad choice”, in rolls all the condemning emotions to fuel the fire. Let’s take a look at ways to monitor and adjust your views on certain foods.
- Know that it is just fine to enjoy all items that you take pleasure in.
- Set yourself up for success by helping yourself to a serving size of your chosen passion.
- Eliminate any challenging items from your cupboards and shelves if you lack restraint.
- Choose exactly what you want and take pleasure in your choice.
- Be in control of the situation and regard nothing as “off limits.”
- Do not deprive yourself of anything.
It takes a strong woman, a powerful woman and a woman in control of herself to create the life that she dreams about. You can do this, you can be successful; give yourself permission to win!
