It is a fact of life that virtually nothing can be accomplished without a plan. The pyramids certainly would not be referred to as the Great Pyramids if someone had not had a plan. How about the Panama Canal? No plan, no canal. It's that simple. So it is with anything in life and therefore even something as simple as joining a networking marketing, or MLM (multi-level marketing), company, you too should have a plan. Below are four key questions you should ask yourself before you join a Network Marketing Company. Answer these questions and you will be well on your way to having the foundation for your plan.
At the heart of networking marketing exists, you got it, a network. A network consists of people. So ask yourself, "Am I willing to do what it takes and talk to people?". This is a crucial part of being successful in business. You have to be willing and able to talk about the merits of your product or service, but more importantly you will be selling yourself! People join people, not companies, so you'll want to be the type of person that others want to work with.
Another question you'll want to ask yourself is "Why do I want to start a network marketing business?" The answer may be simple. Maybe you need flexibility in your life. Maybe you are stuck in a rut and just know that you have the capability of earning a lot more money if you had a chance to be your own boss. Knowing why you want to be involved in the first place will definitely give you some insight into understanding how your new found business should be operated. For example, if flexibility is important you should look at when and where you can work and start by creating that schedule. This will allow you to reap the benefits of your decision right from the start.
It is very important to find out about the company you want to work with. You need to find out if you are the right person for the job and if this is something you want to be involved with in the next three, five, ten, or more years. Ask yourself "Am I committed to working on a business for the long haul or am I simply looking for a get rich quick scenario?" Be honest with yourself. Remember, networking marketing is getting involved with other people who may rely on you. Do you want to build a solid foundation and be a person that other can count on? This is something to seriously consider as you make your decision. You also need to know that it takes time and diligence to build your business. You will not be an ove
ight success and you will not get rich quick! If you're focused and taking consistent massive action, you can make a substantial income, but it will be done slowly and methodically.
Finally, ask yourself "What are my income goals?" Do you want to earn an extra three to five hundred bucks a month? Or are you looking for a substantial five figure residual income? Do you want to work the business part-time or full-time in order to reach your goals? Whatever the goals are that you have, set them and be realistic. Understand the compensation plans of the various networking marketing/MLM companies you're researching and learn from existing business owners what it takes to reach your income goals so you can determine if this is something that is for you.
Overall, being honest with yourself is the true foundation of how honest you will be with your fellow team members and customers alike. Remember, you are building a business but more importantly you are building your reputation and that's worth more than anything.
