Get Promoted Now!

The legendary Jim Rohn said it the best when it comes to getting promoted , it's not what am I getting from this job it's what am I becoming. First we grow personally and then we advance materially. So many times my Online Life Coaching clients want to grow, after they get the promotion. Similar to saying you will train extra hard, after you win a Gold medal. We need to flip it around, like the saying, you dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

If you really want to get promoted you have to grow, period! I'm not the only source for personal growth and in fact no one source can do it all. That's another subject we can cover later. But the fact remains the reason you are where you are, is because the way you think got you there. I don't care how many "Ya but's" or " I got a raw deal" or whatever excuse you have. You need to think differently to get different results.

So let's get back to getting promoted , here is a great quote to chew on, from of course, Jim Rhone: "Results do not respond to need, they respond to effort labor and activity." I understand you NEED a promotion, but so what! If you really want to get to corner office in record speed I have a great gem for you.

Take responsibility! This goes back to the mirror principle from the book Good to Great, oh you have not read that one yet, you were going to do that after you got promoted , right? The moral of the story was , when things go wrong , look in the mirror. When things go right , look out window at your team. The magic word for any CEO, CFO or UFO is " I take full responsibility, I blew it and I will fix it." The top brass know it's not a one man show, they know someone or someone’s were the reason behind a failed project. But they are looking for someone who can take the heat. Step up and be that person and watch how fast you rise.
