It’s that time of year where the holidays are either a reason to indulge or the catalyst to finally commit to becoming your healthiest self. The end of the year and the shifting of seasons should be a prompt to look more deeply inside ourselves.

For most, the commitment lasts a week or two, maybe a month if your “really” committed. Then the conversation begins; “I’ll start after the holidays.” Then it’s, “I’ll start on January 1st.” Soon it’s, “After Valentine Day.” And on and on.

When I mentioned looking more deeply inside yourselves, I’m talking physically inside yourself.

One reason it’s difficult to stick with a healthy eating protocol, like what I write about in The Food Codes; Intuitive Eating for Every Body, is due to toxin accumulation in our bodies.

No matter how careful you are with clean eating and clean living, toxins build up slowly over time from a multitude of sources. There really is no way of escaping some type of damaging toxins these days.

What you see as surface toxins like skin blemishes, dull hair, circles under your eyes or even a drippy nose are problems manifesting from deep inside your organs and tissues.

If your digestive tract, liver, and kidneys are so toxic they are unable to eliminate effectively, you will continue to battle the “I’ll do it tomorrow,” syndrome. You really can’t muster the enthusiasm to start.

Enter a Simple Detox and Gut Flush

A simple solution to helping your body cleanse is as easy as looking in the fridge. Yes, food can help you detoxify. No high priced and complicated regimen of pills to swallow. One that is easy to begin, and follow, and doesn’t cost you a small fortune, just 2 simple foods that you already have in your kitchen.

The easier anything is to stick with, the better. A combination of lemon juice and olive oil is all that you need. Mixing or shaking these two simple foods together will emulsify or break down the oil into tiny particles.

When eaten, lemon juice helps the liver excrete toxins and the emulsified oil helps attract and absorb toxins to escort them out of the body.

Recipe:
Juice ½ lemon
1 Tablespoon Olive oil

Mix or shake in a small jar. This is key, to emulsify the oil.

Drink straight or put on foods like veggies or salad. Some of my clients have called this taking detox shots!

**You can add extra spices for a dressing if you like.

Take the mixture up to two times daily for five days.

Muscle Testing Amplifies Your Results

Use muscle testing to ask your body how long and if this is best for you at this time. Test for how long your body needs to do this easy detox.

I suggest adding in the 30 Second Gut Flush each morning and evening and you will find the benefits are enhanced. Read more about the 30 Second Gut Flush https://thefoodcodes.com/the-30-second-gut-flush-method/

If you are on the no S.O.S. eating protocol (eliminating salt, oil and sugar)

More every day, people are shifting to a plant-based eating protocol void of any added salts, processed sugars and oils, even olive oil. In that case, you can do a great detox by replacing the olive oil with a tablespoon of avocado and blend together.

Clear Your Body, Clear Your Mind

To stay in tip top shape, feel your best and live with more vibrancy, give yourself the gift of a good detox every few months. This is the best way to celebrate the holidays throughout the year.

We are adapted to survive mild exposures to radiation. After all, the sun is a kind of controlled nuclear bomb and it releases a lot of radiation. Of course, this radiation, and man-made radiation, can also cause cancer and a host of short- and long-term health problems.

"Raw Foods" is a popular phrase these days that is often misunderstood, yet represents a powerful, grass roots health movement. Some people shun the idea, not knowing what it means. Others embrace the idea, not knowing what it means. And that's no wonder, since there are many different interpretations of what it means to be on a raw food diet. Personally, I advocate a plant-based raw food diet. In other words, I suggest eating green leafy vegetables, sea vegetables, other vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted seeds, and fruit.
