Hemorrhoid are caused when blood vessels around your rectum and anus, which become stretched, swollen or inflamed. Simply think about how varicose veins are developed. Your blood vessels swell and expand due to added pressure.

If you have hemorrhoids, they will only affect your rectum and anus areas. They are most often caused when you have constipation. Constipation simply refers to a food processing issue that causes a blockage in your bowel . Or it can be due to some other digestive diseases causing a bowel obstruction. In all these cases, you will need to go through some medical testings.

Besides constipation, there are other things that can cause you to have hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoid symptoms may also develop when you become pregnant, if you are female. The extra change in weight puts added pressure on your bowel. Even if you are male, weight gain can cause you to develop hemorrhoids. Usually hemorrhoids can cause you to have pain, itchiness and general discomfort, especially during bowel movements. Sometimes they can also cause you to bleed a bit if the vessels burst because of stress and swelling. You should also be aware that mild cases usually disappear on their own after a few days, but they can recur at another time. Although medications can help, you should speak to your doctor about your condition and perhaps the possibility of making some changes to your diet and lifestyle to reduce the chance of recurrence.

By understanding more about your body, it is possible to better control your health. As you get to know more about your hemorrhoid symptoms, you can take appropriate action. Asking for support and help is less embarassing. Your condition can be easily treated.
