Have you ever felt like you want to throw your hands up in the air and walk away?
… or, stared at a long-ass to-do list but have NO idea what to DO?
… or, just wanted to shut it all down and take a perma-vacation… from everything?
Last week, I froze. My worst business nightmare came true.
I created an offer, put the word out, but felt disconnected from it and couldn’t get myself to promote it anymore.
I cooked up a list-building project, got the word out to a few partners and then lost steam.
I tried to write a blog post, gibberish came out.
I looked at my “to-do” list and had no idea what to do.
rnSomething deep inside of me whispered, “Let it all go, walk away, take a break. You are muscling through and it ain’t gonna work.”
My brain (logical/monkey/ego/type-A over-thinking mind) panicked. It couldn’t even process the idea. It defaults to busywork for “safety.”
Something big is brewing. Deep dow
I know I need to clear the deck and make space for it to emerge.
But my “brain” – whose job is to determine action based on past knowledge and experience – screamed, “does not compute!”
Struggle does not happen because of “what is” – it happens because of the intellect’s resistance to an aligned action guided by an inner knowing.
My coach challenged me to stop doing things that I *think* I *should* be doing because of what my monkey mind “knows.”
I was challenged to let it sit, and act only when thinking subsides and I can finally feel into it. (shit, Harvard didn’t teach me that!)
The hardest f—ing thing, ever.

The Hard Truth About Soft-Skills
There are 350,000 opinions (books) on “leadership” on Amazon. Corporate America can’t seem to draw a consensus on what leadership is so it’s really no big surprise that Corporate America can’t figure out what soft-skills are and why they are important either. You know, for being such a dominating force in the world of business, we really don’t have a clue about the stuff that REALLY makes business run.

***Older Workers Still Have Value
Perhaps it’s my age but I find the best part of American Idol are the qualifying rounds to see who gets to go to Hollywood. Out of the tens of thousands of hopefuls only a few hundred are chosen as “good enough” to advance to the next round. It amazes me how many of the ...

***Employee Training Ends At Competence
I got into a conversation recently (on a Human Resources Message Board) with a Management Consultant. His questions got me to thinking. He asked for a further clarification of my assertion that an employer's responsibility to improve its employees ends once they become competent at the job. The ...
