If during a variety of interactions the responses from others seem to be more negative than the messages you intended to convey, or if you sometimes feel others just don’t like you for some reason, perhaps it's time to consider the source. Is it possible your messages and actions are not being accurately received because of your delivery? Is there perhaps something in your emotional background adding a more debasing lean to your perceptions of how others see you, and if so, might you be reacting toward them in line with these false perceptions?

Have you ever watched people bowl? Many of them go through a little ritual before they actually get to the point of hurling their bowling ball in the direction of the pins. They carefully lace up their bowling shoes, and then the hunt for the perfect bowling ball begins. They may put on a bowling glove as well as an elbow brace. As they step to the line they glare at the bowling pins and get into their approach posture. Then they step forward and release the bowling ball down
This is probably a topic that has been beaten down so much that I’m almost embarrassed to write about it. But I can’t help it. You can tell a lot about a person from the way they shake hands with you. Whether they intend to let you know or not. How can that be? How do you know if the person doesn't have a weak hand or some other medical condition preventing them from doing any other type of handshake other than as though you are shaking hands with a piece of tissue paper?
Here is an essential principle of Mental Toughness We all experience frustration when our needs, wants and demands are not met, or when we are faced with obstacles that impede our progress. Frustration is a fact of life; therefore our ability to tolerate frustration is crucial to the successful achievement of our long-term goals.
This is a well-proven fact that your success is dependent on your attitude. People having similar social and educational background attain contrasting level of achievements. So much so that siblings who get almost same type of social exposures and similar genetics achieve different level of success. You may dismiss these observations with stale phrases like ‘lady luck doesn’t smile on everyone.’ However, the fact is that ‘Luck ‘is nothing but right attitude. Irrespective of t
Life indeed throws a curve ball at us every now and then, doesn’t it? You can never predict what's going to happen next, unless your level of awareness matches that of the 'Sages of the Ages' exclusive club members. But for an everyday Joe or Mary or Svetlana (I like that name, and I had to use it), things could get pretty stressful, if events happen contrary to what was planned, which they will along the path. Now, there are different strategies that are in vogue to overcom
It's Monday morning. You just had a fun and relaxing weekend - and now it's time to get back to the grind. It's understandable that most people dread Mondays - after all, the number of people working unfulfilling jobs is staggering! So, it makes sense that most of them have a hard time dragging themselves out of bed when that alarm goes off. But it's not all bad. In fact, the only way you will get out of working the job you dislike is to face reality and accept that this is
Listening to the weather forecast one frigid day, I realized how much we are influenced by the catastrophic thinking of the media. The weatherman reported, "The weather has brought more misery to the St. Louis area." Certainly, the weather was causing problems that day. An ice storm caused car doors and locks to be frozen so that people had a great deal of trouble getting into their cars. However, I thought, unless someone was in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone and t
We all pick up emotional burdens of varying weights and sizes while growing through life. Many eventually fall by the wayside, some we learn to live with, while others are more like a thorn in one’s heart, or worse, causing enough pain and anguish to impact the quality of life. It is always worthwhile to attempt minimizing or eliminating such emotional impediments to living a happier life, though for many people the need to do so is vital to being able to comfortably move forward in life at all.
When we are afraid of failing at something, we tend to think or obsess about it, which is normal, particularly just in advance of whatever it is we may be attempting to do. Unfortunately, this latent fear many times causes us to imagine various scenarios of failure, and not without repercussions.
A self-fulfilling prophecy is a statement or prediction that influences actions and thoughts to the extent that it becomes true. There are many examples in literature, movies, and real life of self-fulfilling prophecies that are negative in nature. These cautionary tales show how powerful of an effect belief can have in determining how our lives unfold. The good news is that not all self-fulfilling prophecies have to be negative. In fact, they can actually be very positive an
If I were to rank all the factors that go into creating a likable personality, I would have to place a friendly smile at the top of the list. A warm, authentic smile communicates feelings that words alone canât possibly accomplish. A great smile radiates warmth, puts people at ease and makes a good first impression. The impact Of Your Smile As you meet people, you will see a wide range of smiles. These smiles will vary from the âhabit smileâ where they are smiling sub-c
Considering the recent unfortunate trends that had happened in India and Manipur in particular, it is a must for every citizen who wants to get the fruit of network marketing to know the trends and development of Network Marketing in India as well as other countries of the world. Many MLM Network companies have looted crores of rupees from the innocent publics of Manipur. Visarev, Forex Achievements, Speakout Asia, Global Finance, Jagran, etc are the top looters who defamed the nice principle of Network Marketing companies.
The key business strategy is simple and it changes everything. You need to make time every single day to plan and implement ideas and strategies for developing your thinking to grow your businesses. More specifically, you need to make time every single day to take an honest look at where you are being blocked in your thinking or mindset. Are you self-sabotaging and finding excuses not to do follow up and call your clients? Or are you afraid to ask for the money when working w
A request was made that I incorporate some management and leadership tips into the tone of it, so here it is. We each interact with the world in different ways; we create our situations just as much as they create us. This “circle of life” can be summed up with the following six statements: 1. Different persons respond differently to the same situation.
During the holiday season, it’s important to have “an attitude of gratitude.” This is the perfect time of year to remember how blessed we are, how truly amazing life is, and how wonderful the people around us are. Now - more than ever - is the time to show our appreciation towards the things in our lives that makes us happy. Adopting this habit - showing how thankful and grateful we are - will put us in a state of mind to better enjoy the holidays and life altogether.r
It all started innocently enough as I was looking for casters. I had this idea for a piece of exercise equipment and decided to build a prototype but I needed casters - those swivel wheels that go under office chairs, carts, etc. I had to ask three sales clerks where to find them in the big box hardware store before the third clerk actually looked in the computer to figure out where they stocked them. Reluctantly, I purchased four casters from them. It turns out that it wasn't just the service that was lousy.
Traffic jams are time-consuming and therefore a source of low productivity in normal life and in business. As long as population increases and the number of cars increases on the few roads available, traffic jams are inevitable. The entrepreneur must therefore, be able to use the time spent in traffic jams to his advantage. It’s about not allowing the systems to limit you. As an entrepreneur, one of your greatest assets is time and there must be an effort not to waste the one
"Some things simply are. There are no explanations, no logic, simply a reality that is many times beyond control. Sometimes, we must find our own inner strength, our own place from which to draw the courage and fortitude necessary to allow us to live and move beyond that which is painful. Other times, we simply need to find another vantage point from which to see hidden beauty, potential opportunities or perhaps a chance to reach outside of ourselves and help someone less fortunate, thus feeding your heart and distracting bad energy."
If you've been watching TV recently, you will have seen the new commercials for GM. GM is now touting their quality - something the average consumer is certainly not used to seeing GM do. It first surprised me a little that GM decided it was time to start marketing quality over price. This is not something I'm used to from GM. In fact, not too long ago, there were commercials on television selling GM cars at one dollar over invoice. Quality wasn't an issue then. It was all about price. But now, it's all about quality. But is it?
As people with the power of choice it is interesting how we use it. In nature no creature is allowed to go less then all out. If a Cheetah goes half speed during a chase it starves to death. If a group of bees go half speed in their manufacturing they starve to death. If a shark goes half speed chasing down its prey it starves to death. Notice a pattern. But we as human beings with choice continuously make the choice to go half speed. Some of us throughout the course of our lives never even attempt to go all out for anything.
My great grandfather was an officer in the American army that sailed to the Philippines in 1898 to liberate the native people from the Spanish. An imperialistic venture for sure. In his writings, his observations, I was impressed with his absolute belief in his country’s venture, his faith in a quest much bigger than he. His generation’s beliefs, goals, and ideals had a strength of character that is woefully lacking today. Whenever I take pen in hand, I do it with the intent
The most difficult people in our lives end up being our greatest teachers. The hurdles they place before us and the challenges they present to us are only lessons that we must learn for our greater good. Think of the oyster…without the irritating grain of sand there would be no pearl. ~ Randi G. Fine We all experience times of joy and times of suffering as we move through our lives. Life is a breeze during the happy times; we get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. But w
We all have seen the images of football players in the locker room psyching themselves up, the Olympic athletes waiting beyond the starting line staring into space visualizing what it is they are about to do, the musicians who stand tall and breathe deeply before walking out on stage, or the public speakers that pace in the back hallway sipping water and saying key phrases out loud. No matter what activity a top performer is preparing to do, there is one thing that is certai
We could talk passion all day, it is a catch word, and there have been thousands of articles written about it; but it still seems to be something covered in mystery. A life of passion is a life of Achievement.
In today’s world, we are experiencing more uncertain and troubling times than ever before. Every time you turn on the TV or get on the computer, it seems there is always more news that just weighs you down. On top of that, you have your own personal issues to deal with. This “negative storm” can cause someone to feel stuck, lost and full of anxiety. It is the fear of the unknown that builds up in our mind and takes over like a dark cloud. This dark cloud follows us and rains on us, making us negative in our personal and professional lives.
Was your last meeting one big snooze fest? Whether you’re an association executive, on a program committee, in corporate meeting planning or staff development training the challenge to maintain people’s attention is huge. With four generations in the workplace today meetings can be a headache to get everyone on the same page let alone excited about being there.
Our lives today are fast paced, and we all experience a degree of stress at some point. Each of us must learn how to cope with the stressors of everyday life, and have a means to reduce our stress levels. It is essential to practice giving gratitude on a daily basis. People who are grateful tend to be happier, healthier and more fulfilled. Being grateful can help people cope with stress. Starting today, instead of complaining, give words of gratitude to those you love. Each
If you have never spent time around an older person then that is something that you should probably schedule some time to do. Listen to their stories and their regrets, listen to their loves and their hates, and last but not least listen to their mistakes. I spent some time talking to elderly people and one of the things that they all seemed to stress was to take advantage of your youth. To make the most out of your years because before you know it, those years are behind you and all your left to look at is the end.
Personal presentation skills include correct, method of portraying oneself in public or a social surrounding. It is basically the ability to enhance our communication skills in an appropriate manner. Whether in a completely official set up or while dealing with situations in our daily life, proper personal presentation is absolutely essential in determining the response that we would receive from others. âA great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.ââ Walter Bagehot All my life, Iâve been terrible at taking direction, not for lack of intelligence, but lack of understanding why somebody would be interested in doing something simply because âthatâs the way that things are doneâ. Right out of the womb, I had to figure things out the hard way, figure them out on my own, or I couldnât figure them out at all. If there was a âwrong wayâ of doi
Sow? What the heck does that mean? The definition of sow means to scatter seed over (land, earth, etc.) for the purpose of growth. The Roman philosopher, politician, lawyer, orator, and political theorist, Marcus T. Cicero, said, “As you have sown so shall you reap.” And in the New Testament we find, “…whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) This phrase has been used to describe good farming practices, but also your own personal productivity. Probably a more modern version of this saying is “what goes around comes around.” It all means the same thing.
I believe passionately that we are all born with our own natural gifts and talents, and that these gifts and talents not only shape who we are, but help us create a much happier human experience. The lens in which we see the world is viewed differently when we follow our bliss. When our heart is open, people, places and things begin to show up in miraculous ways to support our calling. For many, as life unfolds, we lose touch of who we are, and learn to adhere to what society dictates is best for us. The question to ask is, “What is the price to pay for not pursuing our happiness?”
Hey there y'all. Have you ever wondered why so many people never follow their dreams? Have you ever looked around you when you are on the bus, waiting in line at the bank or grocery store or even just around in the street? When you were a kid... You had dreams... you wanted to be a Fire fighter... an actor... a pilot... a billionaire… Spiderman!!! There were no limits to what you wanted to become. Who remembers that jar of cookies on top of the refrigerator... the jar that you could not reach? And do you remember doing everything you could to reach that jar?
If you are trying to get financial freedom, explode your business or if you are just looking for success in life, read this article. In this article I will explain one of the laws of success. There are several laws in universe and we have to learn to work with these laws, because law is working all the time. Just like the law of gravity. It works for everyone and all the time, it does not matter who you are or where you are. Learn to observe these laws and start mentally and
Despite the advice that comes to us from every direction these days to keep a positive attitude, actually doing that all the time or even most of the time is far more easily said than done. Let's face it: life is stressful, and no matter how determined you are in the morning to make the very best of everything, by evening you often feel battered and defeated. Or the optimistic plans you conceived last night melt like candle wax under glaring morning light. Whatever your world
When we look at people around us: people at work or at home, and sometimes at places where we go shop, we are looking at an amalgamation of attitudes and outlooks. Often we encounter good moods, pleasant demeanor and bright smiles. Sometimes, it’s the opposite: exasperation, annoyance and irritation. Ever wonder what makes our moods? What is it that causes us to act in a particular way or react? Let’s ponder it over together.
Creativity is an inbo characteristic of all human beings. Being creative is our birthright and manifesting our creativity is the ultimate expression of our divine nature. Debunking Creativity Myths Before we dig into creativity, there are some myths which need to be debunked first. I have heard many people misinterpret this concept and characterize themselves as not being creative, so I feel the need to clarify things.
Life is full of transitions; none of us remain exactly the same for any length of time. This refers not only to our physical appearance, but also our attitudes, way of thinking, and emotional responses to people and situations. And this is as it should be. Life is not about standing still but about moving forward; about evolving and metamorphosing into a better person. Via this constant striving for betterment we can reach our full potential, achieving all that we were meant
Before walking your truest path to inner peace and happiness you must first discover and be true to yourself. The efforts of seeking approval and connections with others through submission and imitation, though flattering, will neither connect you very deeply with them nor allow you to understand, trust and grow confident in yourself.r
Whatâs gonna happen next? Do you know? Yeah, me, either. But arenât we cute? We think we do! We all hold the belief that we know what is going to happen next. Chances are good that the next thing will be similar to the current thing, but thatâs just a change, itâs not knowledge. We have different ways of handling that uncertainty. We learned how to handle it when we were little ones, from our adults. Sometimes, we change our ways, often we donât. Some of us donât
There are those thoughts that go bump in the night â the Aha! and Eureka! moments of mental clarity. Such thoughts solve problems, begin new ways of doing things, and herald a better situation for the thinker. Such moments indicate a shift in perspective â a new and fresh approach to thinking about a circumstance, situation, relationship and so on. The âchargeâ resulting from an aha! moment is the literal sensation of a quantum leap to a higher frequency. Thinking is
The Gift Why wait until you are at death's door before realizing what a precious and wonderful gift life really is? Why not learn to appreciate life more now, while you still have the chance, rather than waiting until it is too late to be able to do anything about it? The ability to enjoy life is a product of the mind and a gift of the heart; think of ways to put life into perspective and your heart will reward you with greater inner enrichment and a more gratifying life.r
A story frequently told by guru’s to show people the kind of desire they need to have in order to achieve success is as follows: A boy walks up to an old successful philosopher and says, “I wish to have success like you.” So the old man tells him to meet him at the lake early the next morning and he will impart all of the wisdom that the boy needs to be successful.
No heart is so carved in stone it is forever inflex-ible, so lost in darkness it is incapable of seeing light, or so damaged it will never again flourish, but a heart cannot change or improve independent of the mind. One must be consciously open to new and different perspectives, ideas and approaches, and be willing to accept them as worthwhile.r
In the world today, we encounter a lot of negativity, pain, stress and natural disasters. Many days, we wake up with far too much to do, far too much to think about, far too many conce s, and far too many problems. In Virginia where I live, in the span of less than one week, we experienced a “terrible triad:” an earthquake, a tornado and Hurricane Irene; three major natural disasters capable of causing devastation, tragedies, and causalities. So many of us went through life’s
When it comes to living a life of purpose and destiny, it requires ALL of you. Unfortunately, there can be an inner saboteur that gets in the way of you really taking a risk to stand out and shine. What I found from working with thousands of people is that it is essential to get into right relationship with your ego and your soul. If you are not addressing the needs, conce s, and fears of the ego you will never live your Soul Purpose because the ego will attempt to trip you
Many of us long to live in a state of unshakeable tranquility. What Iâve come to realize is that tranquility is unshakeable ONLY when Iâm unattached to outcome, when Iâm willing to roll with whateverâs happening. âSerenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm.â Resisting is what causes my suffering and shatters my tranquility â resisting pain makes pain more painful (not to mention, what I resist persists!) This is an ongoing learning for me.
Don’t think about that elephant in the room. Whatever you do, do not think about the elephant. Just ignore it. Maybe it will go away. Of course, when you are told NOT to think about something, that is about the only thing you can think of. Even though there is no actually elephant in the same room with you, you were thinking about an elephant, weren’t you? Even if your thought was, “What in heaven’s name is this woman yammering about? There’s no elephant here,” you were s
What’s the difference between having a great life and having a lousy one? The difference between waking up and feeling like you’re on top of the world and some days wondering why you’re even waking up at all? The difference is simple. If you wake up with a feeling of accomplishment and feeling like most of the things in your life are going your way, you’ll feel like your life is great. But, if you wake up counting the mistakes you’ve made and resent yourself for making choice
CLASSIC PROSPERITY TIP #1: THE RIGHT TO BE RICH
Empathy enables a person to establish a connection with others and is necessary for mutual interaction and full comprehension of the experience. It is probably one of the most important aspects of being a leader in every situation. Without it, a person is virtually guaranteed to become out of touch with the environment, he or she is in. Without empathy, a leader cannot lead. Without empathy, a person cannot be in any type of mutually beneficial relationship. Without empathy, a person is basically asking to be completely alone in life.
STEP 1: A critical step to attracting money into your life is to make a decision to shift your perception about money in general and other people’s money. Start treating ALL sources of money with respect. If you don’t approve of how some people are generating their income, then look inwards to transform yourself first. STEP 2: Change your focus. Redirect most of your mental and emotional energies towards your financial goals. It is that simple.
AN AFFIRMATION is a statement someone believes as true or factual. Utilizing affirming statements becomes an empowering jou ey where one converts their creative thoughts into a different and more pleasing reality. Affirmations serve two primary purposes for the ambitious business owner or self-employed professional. First of all, affirmations are constant reminders to the conscious mind about the current goals. This helps the business person stay focused and on course with tasks towards their desired outcome. Second, affirmations serve as internal commands for the subconscious mind.
Recently I was eating in an airport restaurant. The waitress was absolutely great. She was all smiles and when she asked me how I was doing, it felt like she really cared. Her service and attitude in this busy place, filled with its transient clientele, was quite intriguing. I guessed her to be in her early 20’s. The customers, already harried from the challenges of post 9-11 security, were not exactly overflowing with charm. Cheerfulness is not easily found at airports the
After stumbling across the following article on Linked In, I totally had to reproduce it (with permission of course). Author Colleen Slaughter (www.coachforauthenticleaders.com) shares a simple solution for worry warts that create so much stress for themselves it often leads to being seriously sick. Here's what she writes:
So I had an interview today about my next project, which is tentatively called the 12 laws, and I was asked a question that I get asked every time I talk to people and I just realized it. “Why do you think most people never get what they want?” My answer, “because most people never decide on what they want, and if they do decide, they never expect to get it.”
Charles Kettering, former head of General Motors, once said, “My interest lies in the future, because I am going to spend the rest of my life there.” That’s where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives as well. We are living in times of tremendous change. We must look forward and imagine a successful future for ourselves. “But,” you say, “I don’t know where to begin. It doesn’t matter where you begin, as long as you begin. Someone once asked Mother Teresa why she
There are about as many different tips to changing yourself as there are people in the world, and every time someone is born they add another tip to the jar. So with that being said, here are some of my tips for how you can change the person you currently are to the person you want to be. 1. You are who you believe yourself to be. Put simply, if you believe you’re an honest person you will be compelled to be honest. This is more than lip service however, you must be honest with yourself when analyzing the way you feel about yourself.
Mental Toughness and The Meaning of Life Here at Mental Toughness HQ we like to go after the “big fish” and ask the difficult questions. So along with the usual questions about their health and circumstances I will often ask clients “what and where is the meaning in your life?” In short, what I am getting at here is: What’s your purpose in living and being? - What’s the point of you?
Anger is part of life, as real and important as happiness, sadness and joy. But when anger spins out of control, we suffer. Work, relationships and health are a few of the areas where too much anger can hurt us. I would like to share three measurements that can help you quickly determine if you need to work on your anger. Frequency – How often do you get angry each day? If the answer is “a lot,” you may have a problem. Domestic examples of frequent anger include constant fig
Rather frequently we're encouraged to clean out clutter at home and work. However, I'd like to present an alte ate viewpoint as I point out the positive aspects of accumulating various items. Collectibles contain messages for both the person owning them and visitors. They say a lot about a person's interests and background. A house or office filled with books sends a message of an erudite occupant. Photographs on the wall are an indication of monumental moments in the person
By enhancing your feeling of introspection as much as possible you will become much more contented with life and much more honest with yourself. There is not much to be gained by only being slightly honest or biased against your shortcomings. It is also necessary that you try to prevent seeing yourself only as a saintly being - like some of these celebrities do. By asking yourself the right questions and being honest with the answers is the best way of developing introspectio
Life is choices and there is no way around that. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep your entire day will be filled with choices that you have to make. Even if you decide not to make a choice you are still making a choice. But the question you should ask yourself is: Are these choices creating leverage for me to later go and get what I feel my life is worth; or are these choices creating reasons for why I don’t really even deserve what I already have.
At a recent event, someone I hadn’t met before came up to me and asked me for advice on how to network. I was flattered that the person asked me and puzzled at the same time. I asked him why he wanted my advice. He told me that he was observing me and noticed how easy it seemed for me to meet people and start a conversation with them. He also mentioned that I looked calm, relaxed and sincerely interested in the person I was speaking with. That last comment caught my attention and is something I hear a lot.<!--more-->
1. Dreams Just Happen When you dream, you just see things play out. If you type “dream big” into Google one of the first things to pop up is an article about advice from Steve Jobs. The article talks about how Steve Jobs told a Disney executive to “Dream Bigger”. If we quote his biography, found at http://www.biography.com/people/steve-jobs-9354805,“Jobs experimented with different pursuits before starting Apple Computers with Steve Wozniak in 1976.” The basic principle of p
âNever eat with people you donât like because your state of awareness will influence how your food is metabolized.â This is what Deepak Chopra said in a 1993 interview with Oprah Winfrey. He talked about a study that was done where rabbits were fed a diet that was extremely high in cholesterol. The researchers were amazed and puzzled to find that one group of rabbits never got high cholesterol levels. They discovered that the technician who was feeding that group of rab
So often people write articles about how to win over clients, how to achieve success, and how to build a business, yet one subject is often overlooked. That subject is dealing with a client you can’t please. What happens when you have a client that cannot be satisfied and how are you supposed to handle the situation? Many years ago one of our greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln was quoted as saying: “You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people som
My fist thumped into the soft mattress of my bed as I realized that, once again, I was wide-awake. What was the time? I didn’t know exactly, but because I had been waking at roughly 2am each morning for the last six weeks, I could guess it was around this hour. Frustrated, I tossed and turned and tried to force myself back to sleep. As usual, this approach didn’t work and I grew increasingly angry with my inability to sleep.
The year 2012 in almost ending, as the holiday season knocks on our door. It’s time to be around the family and enjoy some quality time together. But it’s also a great time to review the main events of the passing year and think about what’s coming up for 2013. Out with the Old and in with the New A new year means a new chance. It marks the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one in our lives. If the last year was not as good as expected, than the new one will break the bad luck. It’s out with the old and in with the new!
What does the word "Mom", "Mother" bring into your head? First thoughts? Mine is a bit American style vision - a woman, mid age, wearing a kitchen apron, with a cooking glove on one hand and holding a glass of lemonade in the other. Brown hair, no glasses, no makeup. This has a lot to do with my mother, but it also differs a lot. You see - my mother is a businesswoman. She helps my dad run a company. This tends to interfere with many household chores which need doing. I wonder - what would my kids see in me when they grow up? What expectations would they have of me and would I meet them?
Do you feel like you’re in rut? Are you bored with your life or don’t know what to do with it? On paper someone could have an amazing life but still be bored: you could have a successful job and loving friends and family, however without the two elements that I’m about to talk about today you may still feel like something is missing from your life. So what are these elements? Purpose and Progression I believe we have a craving to progress and improve; look at how far we h
People often wonder why all their positive thinking, affirmations, visualizations and such have yet to produce their dreams lives. Simple enough. You cannot expect the universe to deliver beyond your image of the universe. And you, positive thinker optimistic visualizer, see a universe full of hardship, misfortune, poverty and lack. The deal is off!rnThe fact is everybody who is trying to be more positive in their own lives has fundamentally negative notions about the world t
Faith in your mind is like adrenaline in your blood. Imagine that you are running for your life from a lion thatâs looking to feed you to its family. Chances are you are going to run faster and longer than you have ever run before thanks to a little hormone called adrenaline. Adrenaline releases itself in the blood stream to better prepare you for emergency situations by boosting your supply of oxygen and glucose to the brain and muscles, dilating your pupils, and raising y
Attitude is a hypothetical construct that represents an individual's like or dislike for an item. Attitudes are positive, negative or neutral views of an "attitude object": i.e. a person, behaviour or event. People can also be "ambivalent" towards a target, meaning that they simultaneously possess a positive and a negative bias towards the attitude in question. n Attitudes are composed from various forms of judgments. Attitudes develop on the ABC model (affect, behavioral cha
There are 350,000 opinions (books) on “leadership” on Amazon. Corporate America can’t seem to draw a consensus on what leadership is so it’s really no big surprise that Corporate America can’t figure out what soft-skills are and why they are important either. You know, for being such a dominating force in the world of business, we really don’t have a clue about the stuff that REALLY makes business run.
Life is based on decisions. Either you drink a glass of coffee or you write for five minutes longer. Either you put the money in savings or you go out for a nice dinner. Either you ask for the divorce or you keep trying for one more year. Decisions. rnOften they hurt, but that's a good sign. You can understand that better here . I've come to realize that more clearly with my American girlfriend because I've learned that in English, there is an expression: the calm before the
Transcript from May 19, 2011 Blog Talk-Radio Show, A Fine Time for Healing http://www.blogtalkradio.com/randi-fine We have, or will all experience shattering times or violations in our lives that wound us deeply. To quote Thomas Chandler Haliburton, “The memory of past favors is like a rainbow – bright, vivid, and beautiful; but it soon fades away. The memory of injuries is engraved on the heart, and remains forever.” Pain is unavoidable; no one escapes life without sufferin
With time, car's headlights accumulate dust, dirt and get dull, leading to a driving hazard, to say the least. With time removing all that dirt becomes harder and harder. Today about 17.5 million people are getting trained for waging wars. They are being trained to imbibe the âartâ of using murderous weapon, killing other humans and thus destroying precious wealth of the world. This then is their âartistic skillsâ. All specialties of their inner personality are used for this goal. Apart from this some 70 million people are immersed in designing/production of weapons and running industries to fulfill other requirements related to the ar
The time in between seasons, autumn and spring, can be devious. We often let our guard down because of either slowly warming or slowly cooling weather. In first case we are eager to put some clothes down after a long winter and in the second, we try to prolong the warm days as long as we can. Too bad - these acts often lead to cold and flu, which run rampant during that time. You may as well spend the last and first of the good days in bed with fever. Fortunately for you, there are ways to battle early flu symptoms.
Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, nothing seems to work. It might be because you are going through a bad patch and feel you are not making any progress. You are tired of trying and getting nowhere. When this happens, it is easy to become dispirited. These can be critical times and may spell the difference between continuing to work towards your goals and giving up on your dreams. You need to find ways to improve motivation to protect yourself from these threats to your s
Remember that old Negro spiritual: Oh, nobody knows the vicissitude I have seen, Nobody knows but Jesus. Nobody knows the vicissitude I have seen, Glory hallelujah! Oh. You don't remember it that way, huh? Well, you're right. The song actually goes 'Nobody knows the trouble I have seen....' But in my mind, all my life, the word 'vicissitude' has been equated with 'trouble'. Come to find out, though, the word actually refers to mutability, the quality or state of being chang
TODAY’S article will reveal some practical tips on how to maintain one’s morale and keep marching towards your financial prosperity in business. First, let’s explore here what we actually mean by “faith.” Faith is neither hoping for something to happen nor is it referring to the idea of trusting in something or someone outside of yourself. On the contrary, it is a knowing from within. A knowing you are something bigger than your physical body. The advantage of accepting this type of faith is that one is not alone.
So how do we develop this philosophy, well, the word of the day here is “why.” Instead of thinking in terms of why you can’t do something, think in terms of why do you want to. Why not go after that job, and why do I want to go after it. Ask yourself questions that yield meaningful answers. The worst response you can ever get to trying to get something is no. But then another step is required in forming this philosophy of no limits. That is simply understanding that life isn’t saying no to you forever, it’s just saying that at this moment, the answer is no.
Why is a positive attitude so important? Because it determines everything else in your life!

We and Me How do your relationships support you? They all do, one way or another. Some of our relationships support us with kindness and comfort. Some of our relationships support us with meaningful tasks and cash rewards. Some of our relationships support us with challenges and reminders to take care of ourselves. Oh, yeah. The trick is to recognize which ones are which, not always an easy task for some reason. It seems that we often superimpose the way we think a relationsh
What’s humor got to do with it? Don’t take your self so seriously. You’ll not get out of this world alive. One’s sense of humor involves the capacity to appreciate incongruity, absurdity, an unexpected future, a pleasant surprise, or a startle. Humor helps soften life’s blows. For instance note the humor people express at funerals. Participants in a seminar recently identified humor as an important coping factor. They believed it played a role in their spirituality and their
Suppose one is constantly saying: “Everything is all wrong in the world; people are wrong; things are wrong; conditions are wrong; every one is sick; every one is unhappy; nothing is worth while.” You, as a practitioner, must remove this complex; for these inner emotions create outer conditions in and through the body and are what cause a great deal of the sickness in the world. Treatment straightens out consciousness by clear thinking. When the inner consciousness agrees w
The human mind is a very creative force and throughout history, this ability to conceive new perspectives and concepts allowed us to come a long way in a relatively short period of time. Learning to devise better and more efficient ways of utilizing resources, along with a concept of future existence, gave us the ability to improve the quality and longevity of life by planning ahead; which gave us even more time to conceptualize and explore our environment.

One of the best ways to begin the process of being truer to yourself is to stop acting or “per-forming” with a primary impetus being to appease others. Granted, there are times and places when it is necessary to act within certain parameters, such as in a work environment.
To tolerate, or not to tolerate, that is the question. Well, yes it is a question. To tolerate means, in this sense, to endure and put up with someone/something (unhappily.) In effect, âI donât like (it, you, them, etc., ) but I wonât (canât) waste anymore of my time fussing with (it, you, them, etc., ) Toleration is a quantum improvement over attacking, fighting, resisting, against anything that displeases you, or is not aligned with your usual way of thinking (a.k.a
Bad events do happen, unpredictable events happen. For mental toughness we need to strive to keep negative events, together with our responses in proportion. We need to gain perspective, as some events are clearly worse than others. We are responsible for how bad we perceive events to be and it is within our control how we react to them. It is the attitudes and beliefs that we take to events (and not the events themselves), which determine whether we will be overwhelmed and become victims, or whether we will be resilient and recover.
Just when I thought there was no refreshing new advice on how to best manage your career â Amy Poehler stepped up to the plate. She covers a plethora of topics in her book âYes, Please!â but one that jumped out at me was a chapter titled: Treat you Career like a Bad Boyfriend. Amy does a great job of making a distinction between your career and your creativity (or passion). Creativity, she says, will always make you feel strong, warm and loved. Career, on the other hand
What is balance? What is balance in life? We often hear people talk about being out of balance in life or complaining about their life being lopsided. Usually, these complaints involve work and the fact that it can sometimes seem to consume your waking periods. One of the first things that I need to make clear to you is that work is part of your life. It pays the bills, and it gives one a sense of purpose. It also helps if you like what you do!
The Awesome Party Squad is not a band, or a gang, or a silly hardcore crew or something like thatâ¦it is a social order, if you will, that works for the common good by making everything around it more radical. Having existed since the dawn of time and space, Squad members have been responsible in some way for nearly every great thing that has ever happened anywhere, ever. -UrbanDictionary.com âDude, I just met up with this new website guy and he was a total bro. So continuing in the theme of the last few post I decided to put together another list for change and growth. I call this one: 3 Steps to Refining Your Life by Refining Your Mind. 1. Work on responding instead of reacting.r
I don’t want to seem to be pushing a name brand but I have been thinking a lot about Jello of late. You know, the sweet, fruity, wiggly stuff that used to be a fixture at everything from family meals to church dinners. I’ve been thinking about Jello because of the metaphors that surround it and what they have to say about us and our lives. For instance, consider the phrase “He’s set for life.” Has a good ring to it, doesn’t it? It conjures up the image of a person who, in t

Many people have switched from having a pet, to look after and have fun with, towards having a PC and looking after it, instead. This may sound like something from a science fiction book, or so dumb, that it's not worth saying, but seriously – we compare human health issues with a computer hardware issue, we compare our brain, a living one with a mechanical part of the computer, which is the hard drive.

There comes a time when people need to decide on what their priorities are. It sometimes come down to what is needed the most. The rest that do not meet the standards are left to be unaccomplished. When was the last time you took a serious objective look at your life situation? Are you really satisfied with the way things are going? Well, if you are an optimist or find yourself in a good mood, you may be tempted to say that things are all right in your life right now. And even if they are not all right now, they will get better soon. What are you relying your assumption upon? Are there noticeable facts that point to the idea of improvement? Have you done anything lately in order to make the situation better? Things are not always what they seem to be
I am sure that there will be days that you feel anything, but fabulous. It happens to me all that time, but the thing that I have to remember is that even if I don't feel like it doesn't mean that I am not still fabulous! It is so easy to get caught up in the ups and downs of life and forget. When God created me, you and everyone else He wanted, and still does, for us to be fabulous and so much more!
I know that you can go and do a Google search online, and you’ll see hundreds if not thousands of articles on how to stop negative thoughts. I truly believe that there’s nothing that you can do to stop negative thoughts. We need to be interrogated by our minds, so we know that we are making the best possible choices. We need the good cop. These are the strong motivated thoughts that keep us focused and aware. We need the bad cop, the aggressive, self-destructive thoughts, to
Being a stay at home mother has been quite a challenge as doing the back to school shopping. Let's face it, one income in this economy is a struggle. For our family this is some of the things I have done to attempt to save a bit during the economic crunch. First of all, having a good sense of humor is always handy as you shop. I have been a "thrifty" person pretty much all my childhood into adult life.
"The only constant thing is change" ~ Heraclitus I like change. It revitalizes and motivates me, it offers me a fresh outlook on life and it forces me to expand my comfort zone. Change stimulates the growth of the brain, because it creates new connections between the neurons. This happens every time you learn or do something new. To put it simple - change makes you smarter and the more changes you adopt, the smarter you become on the long run.
We have heard it all the time â âIf you change your attitude, you can do much betterâ. Even in school the teachers say â âIf you change your attitude, you will get good marksâ. At work, the boss say â âIf you just change your attitude, you will go so farâ. When the employers are looking to hire people, they are looking for the right attitude. Why is it, that Attitude is so important? What do we really mean by Attitude? And how do we change our Attitude to ge
The topic may not be new, but it still does not lose its relevance especially in the midst of global recession. You may have searched some topics related to this, and you might have read the findings from studies or surveys about how to make money at zero costs. Yet, the question is: do they work? It would be better then to get to the root of the subject matter. You might as well think about specific proposals and ideas of how to start a business without spending even a penny.
I am 34 years young. I prefer it to say in this manner rather than the other standard way. And Iâm writing this letter to myself - to my present self, and to my future self, and to my eternal self as well. This is the letter I will never forget as I want to document how I feel being thirty four. And if I do forget, Iâll dig it out in my files and reread it when I feel nostalgic for those adventurous young years⦠Young? Do I actually mean that thirty four is young? Not s
Do you ever have a cluster of similarly themed messages coming your way in a short period of time? Thatâs what Iâm experiencing right now. The current message that keeps recurring for me is this: it is my choice to enjoy or not enjoy life, no matter what is happening. Lately, pesky fears about my health have been buzzing around me like gnats. Iâve been on a cancer journey for the past 4 years and am currently in remission, but a part of me is waiting for the other shoe

It turns out that there are many ways you can prevent most, if not all of them. Professional oven users would like to share some of the tricks of trade with you, so that you can bear the cooking better.
As a child we were born to our parents. Some poverty stricken, some wealthy, some who were fearful, some who had no fear. As we get older and mold into our parents ( for some of us) as some follow in their footsteps and become carpenters, woodworkers, factory workers, office workers, and so on,or for the lucky few we adventure off and become one of our own, entrepreneurs. But, there comes a time in our life where we ask ourselves why am I here?
Life is for the most part a challenge, and as it brings us expected and unexpected ups and downs, we can take some control of our lives through our thoughts. Ultimately we are the constructors of our reality, often without doing so consciously. Moving to a more conscious thought practice can change our life outlook and ultimately provide positive direction in our lives. Neuroscience has shown that pathways can be strengthened and positive messages are powerful in regard to altering the complicated neural connective make up of our brain.
How many times do you say “Thank You”, during the course of a day? From an early age, we were taught to always say, “thank you” when someone shows us kindness, be it a gift, a ride, a loan, a meal, or through kind words. Even today as adults we say, “thank you” to our elders, family, friends, co-workers, and even to people we do not know. We say, “thank you” when we are told, “you did a good job”, “nice car”, “nice suit”, “nice tie”, “I like your hat”, “I enjoyed the cake you
You could say that in life we are motivated by two basic forces – love and fear. Love opens us to the passion and excitement that love has to offer, while fear causes us to withdraw from life and hide away, terrified of hurt and pain. John Lennon said something along these lines and noted that without the ability to love ourselves, we can’t truly love others. Fear is holding you back from tackling life and living it to the fullest. It can stop you in your tracks and keep you
Empowering yourself to conquer procrastinationr What exactly is procrastination? Why can’t I follow Nike’s sloga “Just do it!”? When we fail to do something that we yearned to do but did not, we ask ourselves the questio “Why can’t I just move my butt and DO it?” It just means the act of putting off actions or tasks to a later time. Procrastination, the opposite of decision is a common enemy that everyone should conquer in order to achieve the goals. Why people procrastinat
The mental attitude or the mindset you have can affect the outcome of just about everything you do. With even more certainty it can be said that the amount of effort you put into anything is in proportion to the mindset you bring to the task. As they say attitude is everything and it can either make things easier for you or put them out of your reach. Being successful is closely tied to what your attitude may be at any given point in time. These mindsets that have such a grea
Carrying around a negative attitude is like carrying around a gorilla on your back. Not only are you less attractive to others but your attitude also makes everything you do much more difficult. It feels like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders (actually it is just a gorilla) and you simply begin to dread life in general. Now if this sounds like fun to you there is no sense in you reading any further. However if you do not like gorillas or want to intro
You have invested thousands of dollars in programs and trainings. You are working your butt off on your business day in and day out. You follow the instructions to a T. You do everything by the book. Sometimes you make a few sales, get a few clients… sometimes you don’t. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. You can’t figure out why, and it is frustrating the hell out of you because society has trained us to operate on the binary system of “do something –> see outcome.”
Visiting someone can be a very healthy welcome wonder, for we may enjoy inspiring insights, facilitate new friends, enjoy edibles, convincing conversation, long laughs, delicious desserts, and overall, an enviable evening. It is, usually, a nice exciting evening! Of course, visiting relations(if one enjoys their relations), friends(not freaky ones), neighbors(if they are not nitwits), are events we all look forward to at almost any time, regardless of our age – for, whether w
Who sits on your shoulder? An angel or a devil? This is the story of how I put an angel on my shoulder. As a younger man I was posed with this important question. Today, I now know the importance of always having an angel on my shoulder. I want to pass the lesson on to you today. In my early years, while still being very impressionable, my father gave me some words of inspiration. They have stuck with me to this day. Throughout the day, he said, my sister and I were always si

THE LACK OF understanding the inner workings of your mind will cost you unnecessary frustration and disappointment. Your financial success or failure in your dealings does not depend on the amount of formal education received or hard work invested in your business. For example, if you tackle your money challenges by believing “I just need to find more ways to bring in additional income,” it won’t necessarily work. That approach is treating the symptom, not the cause. The cause is the script playing in your head.
Exercise. Some of us dread it, others can't wait to get to it. It's true that exercise can become additive and almost an obsession at times to some people (I myself have been bitten by the exercise workout bug).
If you are not feeling totally fulfilled, you are not alone. Nearly 80% of people interviewed for our long term study of fulfillment did not feel totally fulfilled, despite many being successful in their careers or private lives. Many of those who were fulfilled did not necessarily start that way. Fulfillment requires actions on your part that are not always obvious or baked into our habits. Many require training ourselves to learn new skills and develop fulfilling habits. He
Lessons I Learned In The Military My name is James McKenzie from Hardeeville South Carolina with wife Florine, and son Mike. At the age of 17 after high school graduation June 1963, I was on my way to New York City (the big apple) not knowing what to expect upon my arrival. To my surprise other than being home sick for a short period of time, things were very good living on my own working and learning to make money online . The big change in my life came for me in November 24

It was January in 1962, still summer in 32 Motor Street, Westdene Johannesburg.. Marie gets the news that she is pregnant again. This is the seventh baby on it way, after the loss of triplets before her last child. She feels very despondent and does not know what to do. Her husband is very confused about life at this stage of her life, he does not contribute to the household, and is drunk most of the time, a very arrogant and stingy man, and yet she loves him. He is after all the father of her children. He plays the accordion the way he walks, completely natural.
I’ve written several blogs about the power of positive, it is a subject I love and the theme of everything I do. A question that I have been getting asked repeatedly especially when the book came out initially was and still is, ”what do you mean by think free be free, you mean if I just think about stuff it will magically appear?” To which I normally smirk and say I don’t believe in magic because I think it is just another word for ignorant.
What does it mean to be passionate about something? Passion implies feelings and dedication. It means that you love to do something and you donât consider that spending your free time that way is overdoing it. In fact, youâre so focused at what youâre passionate about that you find a way to squeeze it in your schedule and you almost forget about the world around you while youâre at it. To have a passion means to surrender, to offer yourself fully in order to accomplis
Start by listing the judgments that you hold against the person you have in mind. And be honest, very honest. The more real you are with yourself, the better this will be. It’s best if you can write it out, on a piece of paper, because then you’ll have the physical evidence of all that your ego has been holding onto. Yes, it’s the ego that holds, not your spirit, because none of what’s being held onto is your ultimate truth; it’s the roadblock to your Truth. So list all the j
Sometimes we get lost in our day to day grind and we forget to stop and recognize what we take for granted. When is the last time you appreciated the mail man/woman delivering your mail Monday through Saturday? What about the fact that you have at least ten restaurants to choice from for dinner? And are you glad that you have running water in the bathroom? Usually we don’t until we lose those amenities, right? Absorb and reflect upon the wisdom presented in the following paragraphs. It will help you change your perspective and mental state for more abundance in your life.
When ABC News interviewed me for their upcoming show on the pros and cons of positive thinking and the Law of Attraction, one of their questions was, âWhy are there so many self-help books?â Apparently a published skeptic felt that if self-help books really worked, we wouldnât need so many of them.rnDoes that make sense to you? Consider â With all the cookbooks in the world, there will always be more published, guaranteed. With all the books on psychology, or sales, o
A positive mental attitude is one of the most important assets you can posses. Not only do positive thoughts help to dissolve your stress but they also have a positive impact on your physical health as well. The importance of this state of mind can not be overlooked in how it affects our performance both socially and professionally. In fact your attitude is directly related to the degree of success you may experience in just about any endeavor. With all that said how can we c
The following article looks at "demanding" and "preferring". Understanding the difference between these types of irrational and rational thinking is key to Mental Toughness. Demands are rigid thinking patterns and rules, where we insist that others, the world and ourselves must be a certain way, in order for us to be happy. Albert Ellis, who pioneered Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), called this rigid thinking "demandingness".
WHAT IS GRATITUDE? GRATITUDE is a quality of being "thankful" where one is ready to show deep appreciation and return genuine kindness.r
Many people head their articles or book chapters with a quote; this lends gravitas, authority and authenticity to whatever follows. On the whole I like a good quote, although seeing the same quotes and anecdotes repeatedly, (Edison and his light bulbs, Colonel Sanders and his chickens) starts to grate after a while. With that in mind, here is a quote that changed my life, from "The Book of Five Rings" by Miyamoto Musashi (translated by Thomas Cleary). Have a read and I'll explain why. "FIVE KINDS OF GUARD"
Are there real tricks to becoming fulfilled in life? You bet. My research and that of others suggests that there are key street-smart actions that those who are most fulfilled use every day in their professional and personal lives. I interviewed over 100 successful people---some who were fulfilled and others who were not---to understand why success does not always bring about fulfillment. There was amazing convergence around several things that fulfilled people do at work and

It's no wonder that bad things happen in threes (or fours or fives). It's no wonder that certain slumps go on and on. It's easy to allow negativity to swallow us up. When we focus on bad things, that's what we see. But it goes beyond that: When we focus on bad things, we get more of them. We stop being on the top of our game. We stop looking for the good, positive aspects of our lives and we stop trying our best to find new, innovative solutions to our problems. We feel downh
Do you need some additional money? If you are as most of the people these days, you considered selling probably your old jewels in now to obtain some additional types. There are several advertisements on the TV that offer to take your old jewels in now in exchange for some additional types. This is big, but and if you do not have a lot of old jewels in now? The solution is to accommodate a party in now! A party in now is a gathering of friends, the family, the neighbors and t
Problems! Everybody experiences them. You might call “life challenges” your classroom for living. If you notice---every movie, play, sitcom, drama, thriller and adventure story features problems for the protagonist to face and overcome. Life deals everyone antagonists to overcome. Every aspect of your life causes you to come into contact with people. Some nice, some not so nice! Some dull, some boring and some more exciting that you can tolerate. Some men show arrogance while
Although beauty is such a daunting subject to discuss, because it may be perceived in so many ways, one thing is certain: a nutritious, health conscience person is invariably gorgeous, confident and pleasurable a majority of the time. It’s because certain neurotransmitters that are released through activity affect this inner-outlook. Many people, especially men, don’t realize it but their health greatly impacts their overall confidence and feelings of well being. Women, I be
Log into any business networking site, like LinkedIn or Ryze, and almost daily will you see someone asking a question attempting to determine the difference between Leadership and Management. What are really interesting are the people who are asking: people in management or leadership positions.
It sounds so simple, doesn't it? Of course we're going to acknowledge our achievements, but all too often we don't. We wait until we've achieved a big goal, like buying a house, getting engaged, graduating college or starting a new job. What about all the little achievements? How often do we stop and congratulate ourselves for all those goals and achievements that got us to where we are now, all those "baby steps" that led to quite a distance being travelled? I absolutely hat
My question to you is, what do you believe about yourself? Do you believe you can do great things and that you have great things ahead in life, or do you believe that everything around you is hopeless? Unbelievably, the way you think and the way you talk to yourself, play a huge role in what happens to you for the rest of your life. Your thoughts are fundamental to greatness or failure, and can lead you to either the highest or the lowest points in your life. The secret is to keep your thoughts positive.
Are you Linked Up to here and Twittered out to there? Do you have your best mug shot on Face Book? In today’s high tech world of texting, tweeting and emails there are more communications but less personal contact. This translates into a greater risk of being misunderstood with the written word. Check your emails before you click send. What kind of tone comes across? Does it sound warm and friendly, polite and professional? Remember people do business with people they like. Would YOU want to do business with you?
You may often hear the phrase “you are what you eat” and clearly there is some truth in that; we are constantly reminded by the media and government to eat healthily. However, what we think is more important and in particular, that inner critical voice which we hear all day long. Our inner voice either supports us and makes us feel good or undermines our self-esteem and self-worth causing us to feel down. With that in mind I have included in this article a common thinking error called labelling, which can make anyone feel lousy. The simple truth is “You are what you think!”

A strange thing happened a few days ago, that I wanted to share with you. I was part of a small group standing in a field next to an industrial complex, and the subject being discussed - - -was building another accompanying complex... The group consisted of a two developers, two local politicians, a stock broker who was going to be a `money mover`, and a realtor. After the meeting, I was driving away with one of the participants, and we began discussing one of the group –
I'll tell you this, when you are on your road to success, every day is an exciting day. Every day is special because you love to get up in the morning and say: "Yes! I'm happy to be awake and work on my goals" (or something like that, lol) When you do what you love doing, it doesn't seem like work. Yes, you do work hard but its fun. And believe me, there's never enough time to do it all because time goes by so fast. Have you ever experience that? A time when you were doing so
We are all encouraged to have goals – to set objectives and have targets. When we think of goals, usually we only consider the big long-term goals, such as buying a home. However it is often our everyday goals and actions which we need to focus on in order to increase our happiness and make life more enjoyable. Our thoughts, emotions and behaviour can either support or undermine us in our pursuit of goals and objectives. Goal directed thinking and behaviour supports us in our aims, objectives and survival.
Can you see where you are going? Do you have a vision set firmly in your mind of how you want your life to be? Are you making the best of where you are now in order to get where you want to go? Do you love your job? Your relationships? Your home? Your physique? Your lifestyle? Are you truly grateful for all you do and have? Are you making the most of your talents, skills, and abilities? Are you happy with yourself? If not, you are the only one who can do anything about it. Yo
We love shopping, there's something about it that when we start we can't stop! But how do we know what to buy and if it's gonna fit to our style, wardrobe and where to find it out? Here we fixed some short questionarre to check up when buying new Hoody / Tshirt or Skinny Jeans! 1. Will you ...
Life is all about choices. We choose to be poor or to work hard to elevate ourselves to greater heights in life. The great change a man can have depend on how bad the man want to change. Wishing to change alone cannot bring about any change, but taking a determined effort to change for the better, will see us growing in life lessons. My coach used to say success is the state of mind. And success hinge on the positive attitude. If we think and imagine success and work hard at
Do you know what Billy Joel, Henry Ford and Lance Armstrong have in common? They never gave up. They failed their way to success with passion and persistence. One look at history reveals this is the single most common thread of all successful people - they faced their fear and did it anyway. Whenever we do this we become fearless. Kinda sorta… After living in Houston for 20 years as a motivational speaker and professional piano entertainer, I was of the opinion that life was pretty good, in spite of pesky hurricanes and high humidity that makes for bad hair days.
Once upon a time long ago, when men rode to work on horses, and women stayed at home, there lived a very wise man. He lived a simple life, working long hard hours at his trade, mending the chariot wheels and fixing the shoes the horses wore. The sign on his little shop said: BLACKSMITH
You look in this World and you see two different types of people. You see successful people and unsuccessful people. You see happy and unhappy people. What are the differences between the two? Why is one successful and the other one not. Why does one person always look like they have a dark cloud hovering over them and the other sunshine of happiness hovering over and through them?rn rnI am here to tell you that it all starts with your mindset. Your mind will determine the di
Before you think teamwork is the answer and spend large sums of money on “team-building” exercises, maybe you should consider whether your place of business needs teams at all. Perhaps more would get done by leaving your people alone to do what they already excel at. Forcing people to join teams simply for the sake of “inclusion” is a bad idea. The 20-60-20 rule applies to all organizations, companies, committees and teams. The top twenty percent of the members will be go-getters – those who want to change the world before five o’clock.
As a keynote speaker on peak performance one of the points I emphasize is accountability.
Weâve all experienced a lack of motivation at some point and sometimes it seems impossible to get it back. Well, Iâm here to tell you it is not hopeless and show you some ways to break out of this slump; here are some tips or small steps on the road to positive change. Making too many decisions at the same time will exhaust you, and it does not matter if they are big decisions or small ones; itâs overwhelming to take that much responsibility on your shoulders, especiall
I seriously doubt that anyone reading this article hasn't found his or her business dropping off dramatically during this soft economy. The phone may have stopped ringing, your e-mail box has nothing but advertisements, and it appears as if your business has come to an end. But, don’t despair. Just because things have slowed down, doesn't mean it's going to stay that way. People are still conducting business and they still need and want your products or services. Whatever We

Everyone alive or who has ever lived has/had their own individual and unique values. Without our values, we likely would not survive just as our ancestors couldnât have done without their mythologies (if they hadnât been able to form some sort of explanation for the systems in their environment, they wouldnât have thrived as well as they did). “How you doin’ Jack (or Jill)?” I asked a recreation-center friend last week. “Same ole, same ole,” he said. “Come on man,” I said. “We’ve got ski season in full swing. That’s got to put a spring in your step.” “Probably so,” he said. “But I need something new to fire me up.” He begged the question: why do some people find great joy in living while others find endless labor in their lives? I think many beleaguered people pick up “leftover thinking” much like they eat “le
Charisma is usually seen as something that's innate. After all, most people would think that you just can't fake charisma. In reality, there are some very real tips that can help you to fake it until you make it. Below are five hacks that will give you instant charisma in any situation. Use Names If you really want to be memorable, put in the effort to remember others. Knowing names makes others feel like they have a connection to you. While you can't exactly go around with i
One of my favorite quotes on gratitude is by Zig Ziglar. He states that “Of all the “attitudes” we can acquire, surely the attitude of gratitude is the most important and by far the most life-changing.” When I read that quote it just reminds me that we always need to be grateful for everything in our life. I mean everything. Can you imagine being grateful you were fired? Do you think you’d be happy if your significant other broke up with you? Can you picture yourself getting shot and saying, “Thank You!”?
First Impressions Arenât Everything Have you ever heard this phrase? âYou never get a second chance to make a first impressionâ If you lived through the 80s, You may remember the Head and Shoulders ads that drilled this into our heads. (No pun intended) It is SO true. BUT Itâs also only one half of the deal. Making a LASTING IMPRESSION is the other half! Sure, you can sneeze in your hand, Scratch your butt, Pick your nose, And then shake someoneâs hand. You will alm
Unfortunately I experienced the Law Of Attraction in a very negative (unknowingly) way for many years. From young I was told how women should behave and their purpose in life. My family honestly believed the men were the bread winners and the women the housekeepers. Being continually bombarded with statements like "women don't do that" and "that's a man's job", had a dramatical affect on the way I was looking at the world. There seemed to be a stigma put on women who did extr
Many people think that our situations are responsible for our pain. But have you ever known any two people who were faced with the exact same circumstances but responded completely differently?  Letâs look at people who have won the lottery. Some people who have won lots of bucks from the lottery rapidly lose it all, spending or investing it recklessly, and ultimately end up exactly where they were before winning the lottery. Others react more responsibly, seeking out f
âYou cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change.â - Les Brown I was listening to a song on the radio the other day by John Mayer called, âWaiting on the World to Change.â Well, good luck with that. Sitting back and waiting in resignation for The Good Change Fairy to come and sprinkle pixie dust on your business and life to make it all better ainât happening. Hereâs the deal: The world doesnât just change by its
The other night I watched the Smallville series finale and I must admit it was pretty good. Certainly took it in a direction that was surprising. The thing that really got my attention though was at the heart of the show. Clark Kent, AKA Superman, is always questioning himself, doubting who he really is, uncertain as to where he fits in “This World”. Allowing fear to control his every move because of the failures from the past; the people that he has lost either through death or just relationships gone bad. This fear has caused him to be afraid to step up and claim his destiny…..
In today’s economy and competitive workforce there is no room for mediocre skills. Gen X & Gen Y are competing for the same jobs as baby boomers. Gen X & Gen Y bring all kinds of digital know- how to the job table. Baby boomers bring years of experience. The younger generations have no clue how to communicate with people (it’s text, Twitter or nothing). Baby boomers are behind the curve when it comes to technology thingies (whatsa widget doo hickey?) So who gets the job? Sadly, many times it’s the youth.
What is addiction? Addiction is only the result of abuse. Abuse is the imbalance of how you live. Too much of something, is imbalance. We are all addicts of some sort, some sociably acceptable and others sociably unacceptable. Part of the problem lies within the derogatory attitude people have towards the sociably unacceptable addicts. They are labelled and are pushed aside, or shoved into rehab centres that do not even have the right approach to help them. The actual success rates of rehabs are very low.

Over my career I have read and heard thousands of quotes from great leaders, but there is one I replay in my mind more than any other. Jim Rohn, one of the greatest personal development teachers of our time said, âSuccess comes from making a series of good decisions over time, while failure comes from making a series of bad decisions over time.â I believe this is one of the most accurate statements of human achievement ever articulated. Decisions to Ponder Every day we ea
How many times have you heard someone say something like this? “He really knows how to push my buttons.” “She made me so angry!” “They hurt my feelings.” “There’s nothing I can do about it.” All of these comments have something in common. They are all designed to absolve the speaker of responsibility for his or her own feelings, actions, or inactions. In essence, the person is saying, “I’m a powerless victim of circumstances.” We sometimes forget that we have the ability t

The Global Leadership Forecast 2008/09 researched 12,208 business executives and 1493 Human Resource professionals across 76 countries. Seventy-five percent of executives surveyed identified improving their leadership talent as their #1 priority for organizational success. But the vast majority of those same respondents have no idea of exactly what leadership is. It is astounding that so many people, when asked to define leadership, can have so many varying answers. In fact, there are 350,000 books on Amazon with "Leadership" in the title. That's 350,000 opinions on what leadership is.
Believe it or not, even personal development coaches can sometimes feel themselves struggling with inertia, seemingly unable to figure out much less take the next step, feeling stuck. Recently, in the throes of a particularly impotent (figuratively speaking) period where I felt both my personal and professional life were going nowhere fast, I had an unusually vivid dream. I was with a group of people taking a computer class, and the class had taken a trip to a palatial estate
The sign in the front window of my local UPS Store reads. "#2 Store in Canada." I laugh every time I see it. It's too rare that you see a sign reading "#2" in anything. I get it though. Wayne and the staff at my UPS Store do a great job and give great service. They're always busy. Apparently they're busy enough to be #2 in Canada in volume. And if next year they're #3, I'm sure that's what the sign will read. But what about this #1 Salesman stuff or Salesman of the Year? Does it matter?
Most people stumble through their teens, stagger through their twenties and meander into their thirties. By forty, they suffer a mid-life crisis before bumping into the Big “5” “0”. From 50, they face the last third of their lives with a sense of a downhill slide. Most never lived any “great” moments or vanquished any dragons let alone navigated a great sailing ship called the Black Pearl like Captain Jack Sparrow. None took off through space like the Next Generation on the
I googled “how can I improve my life” and got 216,000,000 results in one third of a second. Millions of different people worldwide are contributing advice. The problem is not finding advice but finding some that I can use. There must be help for people in my circumstances in there somewhere. If I can sift through 10,000 Google results per day I can get to them all in 80 years or so. Piece of cake.
We aspire for our dreams our vision and ambition, we strive to achieve them. Everyone wants to see their dreams to become a reality, I do, you do, we all do. In fact, most of us are in the pursuit of everything that improves our chances of success and it's good if you're like that. Imagine the last time you had the taste of success, you remember that don't you? Recall and relive the moment, the feelings, the emotions, and the excitement you had at that moment, yes how pleasan
Just recently I flew from Sydney to Melbourne for an early morning meeting followed by a series of additional meetings, all in the same office. It was one of those ' down and back in one day trips ', so fortunately I only needed to carry my brief case so I could go direct to the express check in, saving myself up to half an hour in a queue. Upon arriving in Melbourne at just after 7.15 a.m. I headed straight for the taxi rank to pick up a cab. As I walked out into the morning
It is often that we make decisions which are not going to be popular with our friends and family. Usually one will think that his family and friends would accept any of his decisions and support him into them without arguing or throwing any blame on him.rnBut that is only what we expect and not what we find in the end. It becomes clear that our expectations are not always the way things are going to happen and we fall in disappointment of people who are closest to us.rnThe wa
As I have my own child who is attending school now at the small age of four, I tend to drift back to childhood days of my own and seem to have had to develope a sense of trust and faith into the public schools and reassure myself that things will be just fine. It may be a natural thing as a parent to worry about their child as you send them off with a full backpack,a pair of clothes incase of an accident, and a big kiss to say "I love you". Then as a parent, we come home with a few tears and back to everyday work load.r
Many people underestimate knowledge and some will even pretend that they know everything. Some people will go to limits where they do not seek to learn anymore and instead they will stay where they stop learning and go far into their belief that they know about everything.rnBut before you jumping into conclusions of your own knowledge, you should know that all it is that you know about is so little compared to a library, and while you might have read a lot and studied a lot,
Don’t you hear people say, “I wish there was more time in the day!” We all live a very fast-paced lifestyle. It seems like everything is happening at a hundred miles an hour. We’re being pulled in a hundred directions – all at the same time. We have our family, business, career, church, hobbies, friends, and everything else. Too often, we let our personal health take a low priority. Trying to balance all our daily activities depletes our energy level. Not taking care of bodies only makes the problem worse. No wonder we’re tired all the time!
To have a different experience of the life you have you must have a different experience of who you are... Think about this for just a minute: how many people including yourself, do you know in your life that is in a place where they are not happy? They're not happy with their relationships. They're not happy with their careers. They're not happy with their health. They are not happy with their wealth or lack of it. Any of the above circumstances. Many of these people, maybe
The word "ego" is used here to refer to the collection of thoughts and beliefs that people identify with and regard as who they are. It’s the basis of the idea of a self separate from everything else. So the word is used here as it is in spiritual wisdom traditions. It is neutral - a natural survival mechanism. The ego is not "wrong", but has a downside which can hinder success if we are not aware of that downside. The ego has many subtle and not so subtle payoffs such as pri
Wanting to have a successful business is something we each hope to achieve and most of us do all the things we believe will get us there. Let me just start off by saying, I never know "how" I am going to do things... it just sort of happens for me. I am the type of person for all of those who know me, who will try and try again and again. If I have something in my mind, or feel as if I have to do it, the "it" usually gets acomplished all by faith. I never knew what the "Law Of Attraction" was until I was introduced to The Secret. I did know that alot of the things in my life were all an intention, a deep desire or maybe I am just strong willed.
Doesn’t it seem like every time you turn on the TV or get on the computer, there is always more negative news that just weighs you down. As humans, we sometimes focus on the negative and stay under that negative cloud that we created.

Our mental attitude determine how we view our life, and how we react or act to the events that happen during our life time. Our beliefs determine our mental attitude. Sandy came to see me to be hypnotized to quit smoking. As we talked, she indicated that she'd tried everything else, and this was a last resort for her. If this didn't work, she was going to give up. By telling herself that she'd "tried everything" and "nothing worked," this justified her continuing to smoke. Therefore, that was what her su

Time --- Personally, I am a very firm believe that “time itself” does not exist...I am convinced that it is only a very necessary invention of mankind! Having said that, most of us never even consider the fact that every second we waste is gone forever...shot, dead, never more to be lived in again. We are all guilty at one time or another, of complaining that we do not have the time to do something. However, when we really give it some true and deep thought, we soon realize t

Before getting into the heart of the point I'm going to try and make in this article, I want you to think of your idols. Evaluate who the people you admire most are and the areas of your life they have already affected. What is an idol? Have you ever come across a perfect person? I bet you've answered no to the question. The thing is no one is an ideal human being because if humans were, there would be no such thing as wars, stress, sadness, or mistakes. The funny thing is even though, while we may never accomplish perfection we can become nearer to it through our limitations. The majority of people would not portray themselves as absolutely perfect. I bet even the most conceited people in the world are not,

I am very enthused to address the topic of REJECTION! Because of the dangers involved it is necessary for a fugitive recovery agent to know the proper strategies and tactics to complete their task in a safe manner. So how do you begin to hunt for a fugitive? The situations change and many times the proper method to track a person will have to change on a case by case
A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. It is very difficult to have a positive attitude in todayâs time where a personâs life is full of tensions and worries. And often the more you try to be positive, the more you see the negative energy around yourself. But you shall keep trying as it is utmost important for personality development to have a positive attitude and faith in yourself. So here are some ways
As a society, we’re obsessed with being productive, running a determined race to “get it all done.” Our love affair with productivity goes something like this: we’re driven to know it all, work more and try harder, so we can make more money, so we can buy more stuff, so we can then be happy. We even have a name for this obsession, so we can feel good about ourselves for being trapped in it; it’s called the American Dream. Unconsciously, we have built our lives around the energy of “wanting,” in such a way that we’ll never be satisfied.
The law of attraction states that like attracts like. All things, people and circumstances in your life were â to a degree - attracted to you by your way of thinking. No matter if we are talking about bad things or good things. It works for both. Like people are attracted to like people and you can see this around you. Have you ever seen wealthy people who are hanging around someone who constantly complain and live in poverty? Please understand correctly â it does not mea
To develop a commitment to excellence does not mean you have to strive to be perfect. It does mean striving to be the best you can be at whatever you do and, if others have set a higher benchmark, striving to reach or better that benchmark. This can be the hallmark of your life; this can be what will help you stand out from the crowd. This will mark you as a person of character and substance and will build you a reputation that will make finding success a lot easier. In fact,
Attitude is everything. It's something parents and coaches say. But is it true? While it might not be quite everything (because a positive follow-up is pretty important, too), a positive attitude is a huge key to your success and happiness in this life. That's because positive experiences beget positive experiences. The more positive actions, feelings, and moods you can generate in yourself, the better you'll feel and the more positive the attitude will be that you display to
Hello, let me welcome you to the world of attitudes. It is a world of mirrors, where the way you define yourself positively reflects on you. It mirrors itself in your thoughts and actions. It forms your posture and affects your world view. Your attitude is the fragrance you leave behind everywhere you go. People take a whiff of it and determine the kind of person you are. You may not have given your attitude a serious thought, but it is your authentic brand. People stop to smell your attitudinal fragrance whenever you announce your presence.
If you knew how much time you have left to live, would you choose to live your life differently? I started to think about this question when my son came home one day and told me about his friend’s mom who just passed away at 48 years old. She suffered a brain tumor that was discovered just a few months earlier. This made me think about another question: Why do most of us put off our happiness or those things we truly desire, for the future? When you’re on your death bed, will you look back and wish you spent more time working harder? You’ll probably be thinking…

Self Empowerment to Overcome The Cause of Jealousy - Selfishness Now, you know the dangers of selfishness and it is the cause of jealousy, while jealousy nurtures selfishness. Let's begin by a story of a snake. Once the tail and the head of a snake quarreled and fought over who should be the leader. The tail said to the head: "You are always taking the lead, so unfair to me, you ought to give me lead sometimes." The head instantly replied, "That is impossible because it is
Your mind is like a giant magnet. But unlike a typical magnet that attracts metal objects, your mind attracts thoughts. Theyâre like thought bombs, and once you have attracted them, they explode in your mind and you create either a wonderful life or a life full of worry, upset, and depression. rnThoughts are made up of a particular energy. For example, if you are feeling great, you attract positive thoughts: youâve just hit your target for the month and everything is fabu
4, 5, 6-The success ladder Perplexed? You must be wondering what this is all about. 4, 5, 6?rnSomeone once told me, lectured me actually. He said remember these numbers and you will do great.rnThe trick is to imagine yourself to be number 5. He said "Let 6 be an inspiration to you and let 4 be the source of your happiness." Some days are filled with one challenge after another. Today was one of those days. What made it so challenging? Here are a few of the highlights. I woke up late with a four mile run ahead of me. I’m training for another half-marathon and if I don’t get the requisite miles in I’m going to be sorry. Today’s run seemed like the longest four miles ever. I suffered a sore back, aching shins, and the constant thought that this should be easier. Knowing that the big race is fast a

I once got a letter from a high school student in Australia. He wanted to know my definition of success. Itâs a good question, and I thought Iâd share my answer with you. Most people will tell you that they want to be a success. But itâs a rare individual who can tell you what that means. Studies show fewer than ten percent of North Americans consider themselves to be successful. Less than ten percent! Only three percent say they feel truly successful. Itâs interestin
Imagine how much more of your brilliance you could share if you released it when it was good enough. Count the hours and the days and the months and maybe even the years that you may have held on to your wisdom because you believed it was not good enough. My background includes many years working with academics and engineers in which research papers, ships and airplanes, and software products required tons and tons of review cycles and multiple levels of testing were released
Your attitude has a significant affect upon the outcome of any of your actions. In fact having a bad attitude is almost a guarantee to make just about any aspect of your life more difficult than it may already be. In life attitude is everything since it will not only dictate the mood you are in it but also affects those around you. It is also true that any attempts you make to become successful at just about anything are greatly influenced by your frame of mind. Your mindset
“We've got to do it together and it takes a lot of strong arms pulling together.” Be true to your goals. Confusion: The major cause of stupidity. Control: The ability & willingness to start, change, or stop something at will, or determine its outcome. Good management isolates all blockages, and eradicates them to increase production/achievement. Most of our hard times are brought on by failures in responsibility. Happiness is a condition. The cause of that condition is
Five Key Principles of Mental Toughness and Resilience
In this fast-moving world, you need to consider not only yourself, but others as well. What you do does have an influence on other people, just as other people's negative or positive attitude affects the environment around them. What is magnificent these days is that most people are encouraged to do their utmost for self- development, not just money-wise, but academically, emotionally, and spiritually. We have obligations to ourselves to endeavour to be successful and content
Open your eyes and look around, there is a lesson to be learned from everyone around you. Whether your interactions are positive or negative, if you pay attention, you will see that people are your mirrors and teachers. But what does this really mean and how can you apply it to your everyday life?nnIf you want to make permanent change, you need to take the time to learn from others. Start by thinking of every person, from your father to the lady at the checkout counter, as a
A man sat at metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that thousands of people were through the station, most of them on their way to work. Three mistakes went by and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried up to meet his schedule A minute
Everything that glitters is not gold; you can't tell a book by it's cover; your attitude determines your altitude, these are all wise words of knowledge and wisdom to live by. It's easier said than done. All of the above, ring the bells of truth in me today, but I remember times in my life, when I foolishly rebelled against knowledge, wisdom and understanding, under the mistaken belief that I knew better. I had a better plan, or so I thought, at that time; but life was kind
Having a positive attitude is always important, because, in the words of Lisa Nichols, what we âthinkâ about, we âbringâ about. Thatâs one of my favorite attitude quotes, maybe because it is one of the easiest to remember, but, also because it is true. If you want proof that it works, you can start by having a positive attitude in the work place. Are you happy at your job? Do you smile most of the time? Do you always smile at your co-workers and customers? If not, t
"Sometimes we use words carelessly and actually affirm what we don't want, rather than what we do want..." Dennison & Dennison Through language and feeling we communicate and create our experience. Words and phrases like have to, should, can't, must, ought to, always and never communicate stress, doubt, frustration, anger and other limiting emotions. If your results are short of what you desire, listen to your language and stop "shoulding" on yourself. I invite you to do
If we take life too seriously, we: 1. Donât laugh enough!! A life without fall off the couch, tummy tickling belly laughter isnât a healthy one. According to research, laughter boosts your immune system, reduces stress hormones, helps prevent heart disease and eases muscle tension. 2. Donât take enough chances. Great things can only come when we are free enough to follow our dreams and go for it! 3. Donât allow for the child within to shine. The child within needs to
Earthquakes and tsunami’s in Japan, unfathomable loss of lives, radiation leaks that have already reached New York, 3 wars in the Middle East, under and un-employment, cost of living sky-rocketing, anger, fear and distrust at an all time high – do you think there are villains running rampant throughout our lives? You bet there are! So, what’s a well-meaning person, trying to keep his or her life together, to do? Bust some blocks! First, What is a Block? A block is any though
There are several very popular TV shows these days that track the progress of people having ‘Makeovers’. A ‘makeover’ is an alteration of the way someone looks, usually involving changes in hair, make-up, and clothing. There’s even a program called “Extreme Makeover” that dramatically changes everything about how a person looks. The idea is, of course, that if a person changes enough about themselves, their life will change, too. And then they’ll be happy. It’s an idea that f
Conscious marketing helps folks to see the importance in giving. It is a philosophy of marketing that produces results but is not sensationalized, hyped up or spammy. It is a way to attract customers in a natural, organic manner. Develop a mindset of creating value. Does that really work? Napoleon Hill, who was one of the first self-development gurus of the early twentieth century, made this a fundamental teaching on giving. "Lesson Nine-The Habit of Doing More Than Paid for"
The human mind is a very creative force and throughout history we have used this propensity to perceive new ideas, concepts and perspectives, as a means for survival by enhancing the quality and longevity of life. This ability to make creative decisions in life is truly a great gift that has brought humanity a long way in a relatively short period of time.
Leading can be a heavy burden. It's much like you can expect it. And a lot worse sometimes. It really doesn't matter if you lead a team of geeks trying to construct a submarine model, a football team, or a cleaning team. Your duties remain the same. I have read a lot of leadership articles and none of them shows this from a simple enough perspective. They compare characters like Stalin and Hitler and Trump and Che, but they are so far from us, that we think about "leadership" as something distant and unachievable. Let me tell you my story.

Why is it that most of us are our own worst critic? It seems we each have an automated self-nagging habit. âYou should work harder, earn more, lose weight⦠youâre not good enough, youâll never get thereâ¦.â No wonder we doubt ourselves! Negative mind chatter can really compromise oneâs self-esteem and quality of life. How can you ever feel good or perform at your best if your internal dialogue is tearing you down? What would you do differently today if you knew you were going to die tomorrow? Would you make sure your family and friends knew you loved them? Would you forgive and forget a past transgression that time has made insignificant? Would you call an old friend you haven't seen or talked to for far too long? Would you spend some quality time with your children or parents and share, without judgment, the true essence of your hearts? Would you laugh more and revel in the joy of feeling happy? Would you allow yourself to see life without the qualifiers of stress and worry?
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones weâve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. -Barack Obama Wowâ¦what a great quote from our president! Every life has a story; and every story can change a life. This week I helped a client write her signature story, something I think is important for every leader, businessperson or organization to do. Your “signature story” reveals WHY you do what you do. And as Simon Sinek succinctly puts it: “People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.” People connect far more to the essence or reason behind your work – your mission, vision or raison d’être — than to your exper

Color three-dimensional imaging technology means that using two images, which were taken by different perspectives, print in one picture through two different colors. If you watch this picture with the naked eyes, you just can see blurry ghosting images. Only wearing corresponding red-blue 3D glasses can you see the three-dimensional effect. Red images can just go through a red lens and blue images can just go through a blue lens, because of filtering out red and blue colors.

If I spend time thinking about the various issues specific to addicted clients I come up with a few central themes. Many people need to find a sense of purpose, some need to find a sober place to live, and others need to find a way to earn income or repair family relationships. However, what is needed to follow-through on any of these tasks is a sense of self-esteem, or what I like to call ‘Emotional Competence’ or EC. I think of of EC in this way: are you up to the task at h
Hitting Some Out of the Park: The Excitement of Personal Home Runs rn rnI'm not a big baseball fan. I enjoyed playing when I was younger, but Iâve just not gotten caught up in watching nine innings of the game. Perhaps itâs because the home runs are so few and far between. Watching someone bunt, walk or get a base hit slowly but surely adds runs to the scoreboard, but they lack the luster of a home run with the bases loaded. Seeing that ball sail out of the park while the

A belief is a filter. It's a tuning mechanism in consciousness. And when you observe or interact with life through a particular belief filter, only certain information gets through to you -- the information that's aligned with the belief you're looking through. Who can forget watching Looney Toons or Tom and Jerry on Saturday mornings? Cartoons have changed drastically over the years but have their lasting effects on children. Typically, children begin watching cartoons on television at an early age of six months, and by the age of two or three children become enthusiastic viewers. This has become a problem because too many children around the world are becoming addictive to television and the shows that have been watching have beco
nnn nnn In ancient times, lessons were taught via stories told around the campfires at the end of the day. The Mindset Train There are times when our thoughts and actions do not necessarily fall in line with what would be to our greatest advantage in life. Instead of being proactive toward living a better, more fulfilling life, many of us go through times when we inadvertently limit our actions, growth and successes. There are likely many reasons why any of us might carry unproductive mindsets and, knowingly or not, sabotage our own ends, including simply a lack of motivation or uncertainty of direction.r
I heard a very interesting statement not too long ago that really made me think and it has stuck with me for sometime now… this person made a statement saying “you can measure a person’s height, you can measure how high a person can jump, you can even measure how fast they run, but you CAN NOT measure a person’s heart. What that person meant and what I got from that statement is that you never know what’s in a person’s heart and just how hard someone will work for something.
The vector images are not made up of dots as the JPEG or BMP images. This makes it easier to scale the images larger or smaller size without compromising on the quality. The edges keep smooth and clean when blown up. They can be ideal for using in logos which takes up different sizes. Vector graphics are used in animation to scale images better. The images are used differentlyâ when the printing industry brings up stationery or small visiting cards, huge banners and vehicle
What if you knew the asset you have been wishing and waiting for lies in you right now? What if you knew that acknowledging and using this asset in adversity will shift you to advantage? You may then ask, âWhat is my asset? How do I discover it?â Like a diamond in the rough, your asset may become buried beneath a few layers of self-doubt, worry, anxiety, and fear. Like a miner, you must break through these layers. This breakthrough often happens in times of adversity. Onc

Years ago, I heard Zig Ziglar say, âIt is your attitude ⦠more than your aptitude ⦠that will determine your altitude.â When he said it, a lot of people saw it as a bit of fluff from a mere "motivational speaker." I know for a fact that every one of us has. Some make more excuses than others, but at one point or another we all are guilty of making excuses of some kind. What becomes even funnier or amusing is when we make excuses for our excuses, or in other words, justifications for us justifying the reasons why we can not accomplish certain things. We have all heard many excuses of different kinds. Why we are fat, or why we are not making more money or why we are not where you want to
One of the key principles in leading a more fulfilling life is to pursue an abundant mindset. Most people live in a scarcity mindset, and they believe that there is not enough for everyone, and because they do not think they have a chance of obtaining their wants and/or desires, they just give up. We do, in fact, live in a world of abundance. All the things we desire are before us and all around us; it is our choice as to whether to see them and be open to receive them. By c
