Boy, did I learn a valuable lesson. Your life can be exactly what you've always wanted it to be. I learned this lesson the hard way. In spite of spending years pouring over self help books and tapes, not so very long ago I was absolutely miserable. In a very short time I managed to turn my entire life around.
In just 6 months I went from feeling like my life was a prison sentence to be carried out to living a life that I am absolutely in love with. I wake up each day excited about the day to come and I want the same for you. Here are 7 things that you must know if you want to have it all in your life.
1. You must be absolutely clear about what you want. I want you to have such a clear picture of everything that you want in your life that you can see it every single time you close your eyes. Be crystal clear. Different people do this in different ways so experiment with what works for you.
Test drive that new car you've been eyeing. Visualize money pouring in from that highly successful business you are looking to create. Put up a dream board that has pictures of what you want where you will see it each and every day. Create a scrapbook or make a list of everything you want to achieve with in your life time.
2. You must know why you want it. There is a big difference between wanting something because you think you should want it, and wanting something so bad that you will put your heart and soul into achieving it. How do you feel about what you've decided you want. Does it make you want to jump out of bed in the morning and get started? If so, then you have a strong why. If not, rethink what you are saying you want.
3. Focus on the good. The more you focus on what you don't want in your life the more miserable you make yourself. Keep your eye on the prize. When ever you find yourself thinking about everything that is wrong in your life stop and think of one thing that is good. Keep your mind on that one good thing and you'll find seeing the good in your life will become second nature.
Do you want to quit smoking or loose 20 pounds? These goals are negative in nature. Anytime you want to eliminate something in your life focus on what you will replace it with. Instead of setting a goal to get out of debt, set a goal to double your income. Set positive goals and you will achieve positive results.
4. Have a sound strategy for getting there. Before you start working on the goals that you have set for yourself. You must know how to get there. I tell my clients that for every goal they set they should come up with at least ten possible ways to achieve that goal. Most people go with the first method that comes to mind. The first method isn't necessarily the best method, it's just the one your most familiar with. If that method worked for you wouldn't you be doing it already?
5. You must be having fun. If it's not fun don't do it. You more than likely won't anyway so why set yourself up to fail. If you find yourself dreading the actions you need to be taking to reach your goal find another way. Life is about the jou
ey not the end destination. Set yourself up to enjoy the process.
6. It's inevitable. You're moving along making progress on your goal and something gets in your way. Decide what you're going to do when obstacles or setbacks occur. What needs to happen for you to be able to move over, around, or under the obstacle in your path.
7. It's all about belief. Henry Ford said "Whether you think you can or you can't, your right". You must believe at your very core that you can have it all. You must believe that the life of your dreams is yours for the taking. If what you believe and what you want are in conflict you will have difficulty achieving results. Learn what techniques are out there that will help you have the belief that you will succeed. Some of the techniques that I use with my clients include visualization, meditation, PSYCH-K®, and affirmations. Experiment and find out what works for you. Once you do, you'll be able to change any belief that is getting in your way.
Put this to the test right away. Start living a life that you love today. Make each day better than the last, and one day you'll wake up and pinch yourself because your life seems to good to be true. Your life is meant to be a joyous adventure, enjoy each and every moment of it.
