When the seasons begin to change, it is a perfect time to pause and reflect on what’s working and what’s not working in your life. It’s often hard to admit what’s not going well because it means we have to change something to make it better and change can be uncomfortable. Too often we accept things in our life that aren’t working for us simply because we have gotten used to it and it has become our norm. We begin to just exist instead of truly living life to its fullest. Let this season of autumn be a time for you to hit your refresh button and get clear and focused on adding more of what is working and less of what isn’t working in your life. Are you staying in a job that you hate because you feel comfortable and are scared to look for something new? Do you continue to hang out with people that drain your energy because the effort to meet new people seems overwhelming? Are you feeding your body foods that you know are not good for you but you do it anyway? Letting something go or changing things up can be difficult because it means we have to step into the unknown and let go of something we have been holding onto that we are familiar with. Ask yourself these three questions and listen for the answer from within:
  1. "Is there anything that needs to change in my life for me to be happier?
  2. "What is no longer serving my highest good?”
  3. “What have I outgrown that I keep holding on to?"
Once you hear the answer, trust it. Trusting can be difficult but try hard to give yourself permission to trust the answer that is revealed to you. If you realize things are going well and you feel good, then give yourself some gratitude. Be grateful about your life and what you have created for yourself. It is a good thing to feel good about the life you have created for yourself and gratitude is a great way to recognize it. If the answer brings forth the fact that you aren’t happy in an area of your life then trust it and decide to take a step forward to add more of what you want in your life. Sometimes it might require baby steps . . . adding in more of what works for you in small amounts so that you eventually crowd out what’s not working for you. Other times we might need to take a giant leap. No matter how small or how big the step or leap is, it can make you feel uncomfortable. But if we trust and give ourselves permission to let go, we create more room for what feels good, what works, and we begin to feel better and live life more fully. Be patient and kind to yourself and let this season of change be a time for you to check in and renew an area of your life if it needs a little refreshing so you are feeling vibrant, happy and healthy.
