We so often go through life without recognising the significance of the personal relationships in our lives. Very often it is only with hindsight that we are able to see what they really meant to us. More surprisingly is the concept that some of the perceived negative things people do or say to us have any value or meaning, but the truth is that very often these things hold the real lessons we need to learn and on the other hand, people can be in our lives for the simple reason to bring happiness and joy So here is a unique way to understand the significance of your personal relationships: When someone is in your life for a REASON: This is usually to meet a need you have expressed, whether it be conscious or subconsciously. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support physically, emotionally or spiritually. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any apparent reason this person might say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they walk away. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done and now it is time to move on.Some people come into your life for a SEASON: This is because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They might bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done before. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season. Some people are LIFETIME relationships: Lifetime relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other life relationships and areas of your life. Try looking at your personal relationships past and present and see if you can recognize whether they are here for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

After all, Juliet would have plunged a premature dagger into the heart of her romance with Romeo if she hid in her room rather than go out on her balcony. The end of Sleepless in Seattle shifts from "awww" to "aw, no" if one of the two main characters skips the trip to the Empire State Building. As these examples from fiction show, making yourself
