Hello,
Let me begin by Introducing myself,
My name is Jeff Halligan
I am passionate about my family and friends and enjoy spending time with them as well as codeing websites, exploring the darker side of my artistic nature ( I write dark poetry, build halloween props, enjoy gothic music and culture, and am an avid fan of vampires[ Non-Twilight versions] in general.
and my favorite Chuck Norris Joke : "Chuck Norris is so tough that when his Daughter lost her virginity...... He went and got it back!!"
ok, one more..... "there is no such thing as Tornadoes, Chuck Norris just doesn't like trailer parks!!"
No more Chuck Norris jokes I promise......
I have never been one to fit inside of the neat carbon copy mold that we are all told we need to fit into in order to survive in business. In fact, I have found that i was so uncomfortable with trying to fit into that mold, that It actually impeded my success on several occasions.
So now that you know some things about me and who I am,
Lets get on to How to be Happier with your Business and whatever you do.
#1 Be yourselfr
Lets get you out of that carbon copy frame of mind first off,
Unless the "Mold" is who you really are and who you have allways been, we are going to start chipping away at that illusionary personality until we get to a real live person !!
Think Back to before you decided to listen to everyone else.....
do you remember what kind of music you listened to?
How about what things you used to do for fun?
Now look at your life now.
How many of those things that defined who you were back then still sound fun ?
How many do you still do ?
for each one that you dont do anymore, ask yourself why you stopped ?
was it because it might give someone the wrong impression ?
or offend someone ?
Or maybe a romantic Interest at the time didn't approve.
Unless it is something that is either Illegal, or self destructive, what is keeping you from doing it again ?
Often, People find that they have been so caught up in being unoffensive to EVERYONE or being the person that they think everyone wants them to be, that they actually forget the things that make them, well, them!
I discovered this to be true of myself, and not entirely on my own,
I came across a wonderful person( Jamie Mintun) who through her own version of this,
helped me and many others figure this out.
the biggest and most challenging part of this is,
write yourself a list of things that you like, are passionate about, and really help make you well, you. And don't forget to include some adjectives and verbs to describe yourself.
Oh, do yourself a favor, take some time and really think about this. It is not going to your boss or your Customers /Clients
so there is no worry. this is for yourself. This will be your Blue print for your own Personality based Brand develoment.
some things to include might be:
favorite foods
favorite Junk foodr
Favorite Band
favorite movie
your good and bad habits
something you enjoy that you dont think fits your professional image
something you hate but do because of your professional image ; wearing a tie is popular for this one, so is getting up early!( see I am giving you answers even, but you need to answer the rest on your own!!
