How To Prepare For Spiritual Service

We are occasionally asked, “What can I do to prepare myself for spiritual service?” The key in this question is “spiritual service” for there are ample opportunities for people to serve in their communities, from service and religious organizations to charitable groups. This is a no-brainer for those who really want to give back, as the saying goes.
But to serve from a spiritual standpoint requires more – more preparation (that is not readily available at your local community college) and more commitment (which only you can provide). n Even though a written format has inherent limitations, I will do the best we can. I won’t even check up to see if you are applying – that’s your business; but this article is an outlet for spiritual energy that will stimulate the higher principles in those who read it and some of you will respond in your own way and time.
There is an urgency on the planet - for this cycle is coming to a head. Help is needed and a great leap can occur for those who pitch in. Those of you able to tie into the planetary impulse will likely feel a firm hand at your back pushing you forward. So go with it.
But how to do it, and what to do? Without intensive hands-on training, I can only give suggestions and provide some tools; but the basic way to prepare for service is to serve. Almost too simple, huh?
We use decrees as a fundamental method because all you need to be able to do is read and speak. Decrees use the power of the spoken word. They are formulas designed to invoke energies and principles and put them to work in positive ways. Each decree will work automatically, so you don’t even need a learner’s permit. The potency of decrees will increase substantially as you grow and access your Higher Self to a greater degree. So this is the place to start. A balance of service-oriented and personal growth decrees and affirmations is recommended. The Great Invocation is the foundation. Give it and live it and nothing else will be needed. It’s the living part that’s the tricky one. See below for accessing information on decrees.
Reading and study is useful for it generates a level of information that helps to understand what this is all about; but, as in everything else, there is good stuff to read and there is a lot of garbage too. There is a suggested reading list below. It is not intended to be complete, but it will provide a foundation.
Personal growth is essential. It is time to access consciously the higher aspects of the Self. By the way, there will not be a voice on the other end of the line speaking when this occurs. If so, hang up. It’s probably a trouble maker. Your Christ-self and Monad (aspects of your higher Self) will work through you in an integrated way: for this is you, not someone else. Dealing with karma is essential, for it is there to teach. About all you can do is to accept it and work with it - that’s life. But for those brave soul’s who wish, you can ask for your karma to be accelerated, so buckle up. By the way the further along you go; the greater is the forgiveness of karma. Why? Because you have earned it - by growing, by consciously accepting responsibility and by developing greater understanding. Ultimately, we must forgive ourselves of our past transgressions.
Other methods of personal growth are covered in the suggested readings and other publications, but at some time there likely will be a need for a teacher/s. As in school, we progress from grade to grade and teacher to teacher, so don’t be surprised if this occurs in your spiritual education. By the way, approach this as a course of study that requires application, work, persistence and a well-rounded curriculum. Oh, yes, there will be tests to pass, as well.
Growth is a series of steps and levels to be progressively achieved. The goal is to transcend the human and become the luminous Being you truly are.
That’s it. It is doing and applying. Your destiny is calling.
