If providing well for your family is one of your top principles or values, then you’ll want to know what benchmark perks are available today in the job market.

In a recent CNN Money online article regarding Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, it was stated that perks on the job are far from gone.

Some of the best companies offer the best benefits which include everything from generous health care to free grocery delivery.

When work bennies become important enough, all the best workers will flock to the companies which offer them. Slower companies will have to adjust their cheap ways if they want to attract the best employees, that would be you, in today’s highly competitive market.

As you begin looking for work, don’t discount the offered benefits. They can add up to real extra money in your pocket aside from your regular paycheck.

According to Fortune Magazine, this is what it takes to be the best company with the best benefits in their top 100 list:

  • Health care - 16 companies in the top 100 pay all of their employees healthcare premiums.
  • Child care - 32 companies provide an onsite childcare center.
  • To make it into Fortunes top 100 Best Companies To Work For employees must feel encouraged to balance their work with their personal, or family life.
  • The best companies offer their employees the opportunity to work at least 20% of the time from home.
  • Twenty-two companies offer fully paid sabbaticals.
  • Some of the more unusual perks from the top 100 include every employee receiving a $250 gas card.
  • Or how about a $15,000 bonus if you refer someone the company hires?
  • One company goes so far as to offer free grocery delivery, valet parking and a dollar-for-dollar match for your charitable contributions up to $12,000n • One of the drug companies offers all prescription drugs made by that company free to their employees.

Can you guess which was the number one company to work for in 2007? Silicon Valley’s own Google.

To best maximize your spiritual principle and value of providing well for your family, make an effort to find a company you can do business with which looks after you and your family with excellent benefits.

Are you having a hard time finding your passion? Many of my career coaching clients wrestle with this. It was hard for me too. Although the circumstances are not what I would wish for anyone, everyone has tough times at some time in their lives so this might work for you too. My mother who is 96 came down with bronchitis at the end of September. Two days after the doctor had diagnosed her she got worse so I called an ambulance to take her to the hospital.
