“Bob”, a current detox client, was thrilled as he recounted the results his first week of eating raw fruits and vegetables. “I just left my medical doctor’s office. I have been on (diabetic medications) for 5 years, 4 heart medications for the last 2 months and a gout medication. Today my doctor reduced all my medications by half AND reported I lost 8 lbs in my first 6 days of the detox.”
“Susan”, a breast cancer survivor, emailed us today “ just wanted to let you know that I went and had a colonic with Janice at In Harmony yesterday and she said I was "amazing" inside and wanted to know what on earth I was eating. I have been bragging to all my friends that I have "the cleanest colon in town"! Janice said she was blown away at how clea
I am inside and just praised you and Phil the whole time as if it were your colon!!!! Seriously, she just said how impressed she is with you all and how much she could see the benefits of your program on my body, especially after chemo! So thank you a ton!”
Can you imagine reducing or eliminating such conditions as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, migraine headaches, digestion problems, pms, mood swings, skin disorders, even cancer AND increasing your energy all in just 28 days? My husband Phil and I have had the privilege of experiencing this in our own bodies 4 years ago, you can read our story at (http://www.williamsonherald.com/home?id=63584) and now watch healing happen daily in the lives of our clients. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said it best “let food be your medicine and medicine be your food”.
What kind of food is the best medicine? Living food! Straight from the plant to the table. In his book Thrive, Brendan Brazier, (http://www.amazon.com/Thrive-Nutrition-Optimal-Performance-Sports/dp/0738212547/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1242819457&sr=1-1)n a world-class vegan athlete, calls these “primary source” foods; unchanged from their original state. The American Cancer Research Center released a study in 1989 that revolutionized the way medicine views food (although many in the medical world have not grasped this truth as yet). They discovered that the liver, the primary detoxification organ, cannot do its job of daily detoxifying the body without phytochemicals and enzymes. Phytochemicals and enzymes are only found in living, raw plants. (Detox Revolution, Thomas J. Slaga) (http://www.amazon.com/Detox-Revolution-Powerful-Boosting-Diseases/dp/0071433139)nnThe profound changes our clients experience are due to increasing their intake of raw fruits and veggies to 75% of their daily food and eliminating dead, chemical laden food completely.
Give it a try! This is a 75% raw meal: n· Large salad consisting of 2 handfuls of organic greens (spinach, spring mix, romaine)n· Shredded carrots, purple cabbage and chopped cucumbers on your salad with a vinaigrette dressingn· 15 raw soaked almonds or 2 Tbs raw sunflower or pumpkin seeds
ORn· ½ cup cooked, organic beans such as black beans or garbanzo beansn· 3-minute salad (recipe below)
When you eat like this you don’t have to count calories! In his book, Eat To Live, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, MD reports you would have to fill your tummy with veggies one and a half times to eat 400 calories of raw veggies.
3-Minute Salad – takes less than 3 minutes to make & will keep up to 3 days in refrigeratorn· 1 12-oz package of precut organic veggies from the produce section of your supermarket (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, snow peas, etc.)n· 1 bottle of organic vinaigrette salad dressing (your favorite flavor – mine is an Italian garlic)
Add approximately ½ cup of the dressing to the veggies, stir well, cover and refrigerate. The veggies will become softened and flavored as they marinate in the dressing.nnn**Super 3-minute Saladn1. Use in-season veggies that are fresh from the farmer’s market. This is early in the season so you could possibly find Vidalia onions, broccoli, and snap peas, possibly some cucumbers.
2. Make Sula’s dressing instead of a purchased dressing
Sula’s Dressing (a sweet dressing)
Use for 3-minute Saladnn· 4 T flaxseed oiln· ¼ c lemon juice or Bragg’s apple cider vinegarn· 3 Tbs Raw honey or Raw Agave Nectarn· 1 Tbs minced garlic or ½ tsp garlic powdern· 1 Tbs minced onion or ½ tsp dry onion flakes
Mix well, pour over a mixture of your favorite chopped veggies and marinate for at least 1 hour. Serve over lettuce or cooked sprouted Quinoa as a cold grain salad instead of a pasta salad. Recipe is from Hallelujah! Simple Weekly Meal Plans by Marilyn Polk, www.hacres.com
