Dear Ones, Spirit is urging me to share with you today about one of my favorite movies, 'Defending Your Life."
Now the funny thing about this DVD is that is skipped and froze at exactly the same spot on the DVD each and every time that I watched it. I got used to the 'freeze & skip' and became complacent about it.
Now, this is a great movie! It is about a gentleman who finds himself going through a life review where his only REAL issue in the afterlife was that (when he was living) he acted out of fear and hit the same wall, again and again and again and again.
I find it ironic that the one DVD of mine that skipped, was Defending Your Life. The lesson that the Universe wanted him to learn in the most recent lifetime was courage and breaking away from patterns created out of fear. The very patterns and blocks that stood in the way of his success!
I have long since gotten rid of the broke
DVD, which I am sure that Spirit sent to me to teach a gentle, but firm lesson! I offer gratitude as the lesson was not painful, but rather comical. I can still look back at this lesson and laugh and smile at it! (The Universe DOES have a sense of humor :-D)
What is your broke
DVD, where are you skipping and freezing in your life, success, and relationships?
Take the time today to do a life review, while you have a chance to correct the road blocks that you set into place through fear, doubt, uncertainty, giving too much of yourself away through unnecessary compromise, or being inflexible when you needed to bend a little bit.
If it is a relationship issues where the outcome is basically the same (different players), what is the pattern that you are falling into? It is easy to fall into patterns, even if they are uncomfortable ones, as they are familiar to us.
It is time, Dear Ones, today, NOW, to recognize and move away from the familiar and detrimental patterns that you have permitted yourselves to fall into (like a rut) time and time and time again. You may need a ladder to climb out of it! You will find new healing terrain, and a renewed sense of self and purpose.
I kept that DVD for several years and through 2 moves before I had the epiphany that, 'Hey, I can get this on Netflix!' I don't need this anymore. 2 moves is substantial, and I laugh as I write this as it took me a minute to figure out why I was hanging onto it.
New patterns will feel off, odd, and awkward at first. This is exactly how they are supposed to feel. Remember when you were learning to ride a bike? The first few times were shaky, and the more that you rode, the easier and more confident you felt. Thus it is with working with new and HEALTHIER ways of being.
If you find yourself falling into the same negative patterns at work where others get raises and promotions before you, or relationship issues, where you get so far and the SAME pattern emerges and you find yourself (yet again) heartbroken....STOP...Assess.
Please, Dear Ones, give yourself the time to review where your life DVD is skipping, what are you missing? What is it that you are not seeing or seeing too much of? What would you LIKE to see in your life?
Meditate and envision that new/healthy reality each time your thinking shifts back into the old, negative patterns.
It is time to move forward in a strong, healthy, authentically NEW way of being.
Start today, right now as you read this. Make a vow with yourself to change one small facet of your thinking.
For example: I deserve to be loved, I am loved, I love myself.
To replace the self deprecating thoughts regarding love and happiness.
It take 21 days to break a habit mentally and 90 to break a physical habit.
Dear Ones, I love and believe in you and your ability to move into new and healthier patterning in all the areas of your life. You deserve to be loved without condition, and celebrated for the beautiful, evolving person that you are! I am blessed to have you as part of my daily routine.
