Are you fighting a never ending battle trying to lose weight? Gaining weight seems to be inevitable after people reach a certain age. Does it always have to be that way? Unless you are one of those people who happen to have a metabolism that remains high, your metabolism will become lower as you age and become less active.

With a lower metabolism, to keep from gaining weight, you will need to eat less food, or find motivation to do more exercise. To live a healthy life, it is important to eat good foods that have the necessary vitamins and nutrients. The best way to control your weight is to eat smaller portions of the right foods and do more exercise. One easy way to live healthier is to eliminate certain foods, or at least cut down on using them.

The following are some foods to avoid.

1. Salt - Too much salt can be bad for you, and since most foods have salt already, do not add any extra salt.

2. Fried Foods - Try to eliminate fried foods by replacing them with baked foods. Just doing that will lower your intake of calories.

3. Whole Milk - Another easy way to lower calories and fat is by changing to low fat or skim milk products. If you must drink coffee, try to eliminate cream

4. Less Butter - The big debate is whether margarine or butter is worse for you, but the simple solution is to just eat less butter.

5. Processed Foods - Anytime you can eat fresh foods it will be better for you than processed foods. To keep longer in the stores, processed foods have added ingredients that are not good for the body.

6. Fast Foods - Most fast foods are fried, and you are encouraged to eat more than you need. Combo meals give you fried potatoes and a drink extra. If you must eat fast food, find ones that have alte
atives to fried, and eliminate the potatoes, and drink water. That is the wise choice.

7. Unhealthy Desserts - The easy choice is to eliminate all desserts, but if you must eat dessert, then find a healthy choice, such as yogurt.

8. Soda and Sugary Drinks - Sugar might taste good, but it only adds empty calories. If possible stop drinking anything with sugar in it. Clean water will always be the best solution for a weight loss drink.

9. Snack Foods - The best way to lose weight is to eat small amounts, more often. Snacking between meals is part of an overall diet plan, but you need to find the right snacks. Sugar foods are empty calories, so make healthier choices, such as seeds and nuts, only do not eat too many at one time.

Losing weight does not have to be painful. Learn to make good choices by replacing bad foods with better, healthier foods.
