MSM is the abbreviation for methyl-sulfonyl-methane, a naturally occuring sulfur compound and found in tissues and fluids of plants, of animals, and of people. We are composed of five basic elements, being oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon and sulfur. Of our sulphur component, 85% of this is from MSM and its related compounds.
Every single cell in our body needs sulfur. Sulfur forms blood proteins and amino acids, provides the chemical links for forming collagen, is important for healthy hair, skin, and nails, activates and helps us utilize vitamins, used to manufacture bile necessary for proper digestion, for maintaining the important PH acid-alkaline balance, assists in insulin production and carbohydrate metabolism.
MSM naturally occurs in fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, meat, seafood and milk. The processing of these food sources, greatly reduces or destroys the natural MSM content. Even moderate processing can eliminate MSM. MSM levels decline with age, and the resulting effects appear to be symptoms of fatigue, tissue and organ disorders, and disease susceptibility.
The health benefits regained from replacing the MSM back into people’s diets has been outstanding. These benefits include:
Relief from heartbu
and acidity
Relief from allergies caused by environmental, food or drug factors
Symptom relief of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
Being a preventative agent for colon cancer
Serious relief from emphysema symptoms
Effective eye anti-inflammatory
Rapid relief of stomach distress, constipation, gastrointestinal inflammation and diarrhea
Capacity to reducing or eliminating muscle cramps, spasms and soreness
A remarkable effectiveness in treating parasitic and fungal infections, both internal and exte
al
Possibility of eliminating exte
al scarring
Making the skin more elastic
Reducing the hardening and aging effects on the skin, hair and nails
Even reduced snoring after applying a liquid MSM solution to each nostril.
MSM has been used in amounts of up to 5,000 mg per day with no side effects; usual daily dosages are between 250 mg to 2,000 mg. MSM is non-toxic, non-allergenic and does not interfere or interact with any pharmaceutical medications.
Research is still being conducted with MSM and more internal and exte
al applications are being discovered and proven effective. Some of these are:
Internal: Chronic pain, Chromic fatigue syndrome, Candida, Urinary tract infections, Alzheimer’s disease, Pneumonia, Rheumatism, Migraine Headaches, Obesity, Diabetes, PMS, Live Dysfunction, Tuberculosis, Hay Fever, Hangovers, Urinary Tract Infections, Alzheimer’s Disease, Pneumonia, Rheumatism, Migraine Headaches, Obesity, Diabetes, PMS, Liver Dysfunction, Tuberculosis, Hay Fever, Hangover, Hormonal Imbalances, Effects of Radiation.
Exte
al: Acne, Bruises, Skin Problems, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Varicose Veins, Tendonitis, Bursitis, Joint Pain, Muscle Cramps and Pain, Burns, Fungus, Rashes, Sunburn, Conjunctivitis, Tired/Red/Inflamed eyes, Inflamed Gums.
Indigo Earth Notes:
We’ve take
MSM supplements in powder form in fruit smoothies. MSM does taste like you would expect a sulphur compound to taste but not nearly so strong. It looks like a fine salt (including the impurities) and comes in capsules as well. One of the features of MSM that we like is the fact that there is no known toxicity.

7 Benefits of Eating Raw Foods
"Raw Foods" is a popular phrase these days that is often misunderstood, yet represents a powerful, grass roots health movement. Some people shun the idea, not knowing what it means. Others embrace the idea, not knowing what it means. And that's no wonder, since there are many different interpretations of what it means to be on a raw food diet. Personally, I advocate a plant-based raw food diet. In other words, I suggest eating green leafy vegetables, sea vegetables, other vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted seeds, and fruit.
