Contrary to popular belief and many sayings that have become popular over the years, it has now been scientifically proven that money can in fact buy you happiness!

However just as attracting and earning more money can make you happier, the way you spend it also has a lot to do with how it makes you feel too. Strategic spending is important if those dollars are going to continue to put a smile on your face!

As you know in the Dollars Want Me book we talk about money being useless if you are just saving it, you need to spend your cash in order to multiply it. It is important that as you spend your money, that you think positive thoughts, and think about what you desire. If you send out thoughts of peace and happiness while you spend, that is what you will receive in return.

Here are some ideas of what you can spend your money on in order for it to bring you happiness!

Buy experiences not things

The happiness of experiencing something will always last longer than material things. If you really want something that is material and expensive, you will find that the elation and happiness that comes with that item, is far shorter lived than if you buy a moment and create memories.

Spend on others

If you can treat a friend to something, even if it is just coffee or lunch, you will get a great feeling of happiness. Helping others is a great way to get us feeling good about ourselves and the world around us.

Buy Small

Don’t spend a fortune all at once! When you spend all your available cash on one thing, you don’t get the same satisfaction as you would when you spend on several less expensive things. Give yourself lots of bursts of happiness, rather than just one big one… It’s far more fun!

Donate to Charity

Choose a charity and set a certain amount of your cash aside each month to go towards it. You will get a great emotional reward when you start doing this.

So when you are spending your money, keep these points in mind and you will be a lot happier with your money, and you will also be inviting more to come to you!

Every dollar must have a purpose in life, whether it is to buy a pair of shoes that you need or spend on that holiday of a lifetime you have been promising yourself for years!
Remember - When you use your money for a purpose, you are inviting more money into your life. All you need to do is claim abundance with your affirmations to live a happy, healthy and contented life!

This month though I discovered a new way for my career coaching clients to find their passion. Although the circumstances are not what I would wish for anyone, everyone has tough times at some time in their lives so this might work for you too. My mother who is 96 came down with bronchitis at the end of September. Two days after the doctor had diagnosed her she got worse so I called an ambulance to take her to the hospital.

The traditional job search strategy of sending out résumés, attending large job fairs, often ends up going nowhere when there are more than 14 million unemployed individuals and only 2.5 million jobs to fill according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. You may think it’s impossible to find a job in today. Not so! Now is the very best time to move forward with force, while your competition is moving slowly.
