Motivating For Success

One of the most common challenges you will face in becoming successful is creating and maintaining motivation. The challenge isn't about wanting to be successful but about overcoming the fears and minor road blocks that get in your way. Every day in both little and big ways you face a constant barrage of challenges. Fears of failure, solutions not working the way they are supposed to, alte
ative objectives of collaborators and your own clarity on the correct course of action. All of these issues can add up to a frustrating and overwhelming weight that holds you back and slows you down.

But the biggest block you will face to creating and maintaining your motivation is the belief that you have to do everything alone. Having a system and support structure in place will be the most powerful tool you can have in moving forward and being successful. Whether you are just managing your way through the daily experiences of work and life or are taking on big projects and long term goals you will need support. When it comes to a support system it's important to break down your needs. Do you need support with getting tasks done or maintaining focus? If your needs are task oriented the solution can be as simple as finding others who can perform these specialized tasks. Some examples might include house cleaning, business marketing, bookkeeping, training, cooking or any of the many hundreds of simple activities that need to be accomplished in your life. In some cases you may find friends, colleagues, spouses or other helpers who can assist. In other cases you may need to hire professionals who specialize in that particular service.

If your needs are about maintaining focus or creating clarity on reaching success there are other systems available to you. The important elements to consider when looking for a system is understand what it does. A good support system will carry you through from beginning to end. The system will be designed to not only create your success in the short term but shift your abilities or patterns in the long term so you don't have to repeat the same issues.

A system designed to facilitate your success needs to also be simple to follow and easy to replicate. The concepts must be easily understand and be relevant to the issues being addressed. While this system can be somewhat generic it must still address the problems being faced or provide a framework for addressing them.

Lastly, and almost most importantly, you have to actually be interested in using the system for your own success. Without this personal interest and willingness to participate the system is meaningless. The best systems you will find have broad applications and universal appeal.

Your personal and professional success is dependent on your motivation and ability to maintain that momentum. If you are truly interested in creating more of what you want you will seek out the opportunities for support that are provided for you. Failing because you refused help can feel even worse than failing just because something didn't work right.
