When someone has the urge to find out about what is taking place in the world, there is a strong chance that they will have a certain news source that they go to. This could be a source of information that they have followed for most of their life.
Since the beginning of their life, they may have had one source that they have also gone to. There is the chance that the people around them during this time also paid attention to this source.
A Habit
Therefore, there is going to be no reason for them to think about what they will do when they need to be informed. The desire will arise and they could soon come into contact with the information they need.
Naturally, this is going to save them a lot of time, as they won’t need to think about what do to. At the same time, there is also the chance that the source of information one pays attention to wasn’t around when they were younger.
The Internet
What this can come down to is that they look toward an online source when they want to find out about what is going on in the world. And this source might not have been around for very long.
This could mean that one will only pay attention to this online source and no longer pay attention to anything else. In their eyes, this could be seen as the only one that can be trusted.
Another Approach
Alte
atively, one could have a number of online and offline sources that they are drawn to. As a result, they could spend time reading the paper and looking through an online news site.
In general, the easiest thing for one to do will probably be to go online and to be informed that way. Through having some kind of device, they won’t need to buy a paper or to watch TV, for instance.
Letting Go
When one has paid attention to a news source for a certain period of time and they trust this source, they can be happy to sit back and to accept everything they are told. There is then going to be no need for them to question anything, and this will save them a lot of energy.
One could find that they have enough going on in their life without needing to do someone else’s job. If they were to do this, it would take their focus away from other areas of their life.
Support
What could also play a part here, is that one could have a number of friends who also look towards the same source as them. In fact, this could be a source of information that most people seem to look towards.
This can then be taken as a sign that they have the right approach, and there might not be anyone around them to tell them otherwise. Based on this outlook, whether something is true or not will be seen as something that all depends on how many people believe it.
A Deeper Level
Even so, this doesn’t mean that one will see that a lot of people follow the same as source as them and then come to the conclusion that this shows they are being told the truth. This is likely to be something that will take place without them even thinking about it.
At times, what they are told by this source of information is going to be the truth, but at other times, it might not be. However, if one only pays attention to this source of information, how will they know?
Control
It is then not going to be hard for the people behind this source to control what one believes about the world. The only thing they will need to do is to talk about something and it will be seen as the truth.
If one was to hear this, they could say that this wouldn’t take place as they only exist to inform people. On one hand, there is the chance that this is true and, on the other, it might not be.
Fallible
Yet, regardless of whether a news source exists to deceive people, it doesn’t mean that they can always be trusted. At the end of the day, the people who present the news are not perfect, and this means that they will make mistakes from time to time.
It is then going to be in one’s best interest to question what they are being told, as opposed to going along with it. This will take more effort, but it will allow one to have a more accurate idea of what is actually going on around them.
All Sources
If one only pays attention to the alte
ative media, they may believe that this is different. Thus, unlike the mainstream media, this source of information is the only one can that be trusted.
This is then going to make one an easy target, as even this source is not always going to present the truth. But unless one realises this, they will have stopped themselves from being controlled by one source only to be controlled by another.
Conclusion
What this emphasises is how important it is for people to think for themselves, and not to get caught up in whether it is coming from the mainstream media or the alte
ative media. It also doesn’t matter how many people pay attention to something, as this doesn’t define whether it is true or not.
