For good reasons or for reasons you cannot even explain, you are not in a good place right now. You might be spinning in circles in totally sensory overload; feeling completely overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done. Fantastic! You might be really afraid of what is about to happen or what is being asked of you. Marvelous! Do you hear yourself ranting about something ridiculous, or everything, or nothing at all? As you listen to yourself, are you wondering who this insane person is and why are they so mad about such silly little things? Congratulations! Let me tell you why this is all great stuff!
Your Negative Feelings Are Actually A Great Sign
Now I am not saying that it is great for you to feel this way. I know it does not feel great. We both know that you did not jump up out of bed today eagerly hoping to be totally overwhelmed, incredibly fearful, or in a frothing angry rage. No one does. I am saying that your negative feelings are just a sign – a great one. Your negative feelings are great because it means that you must be challenging yourself. You must be attempting to show up in at least one of the areas of your life and stretch into the vision you have of how amazing you can be. You really are amazing by the way. It means you are attempting to live the greatness that is Y.O.U. I often say if your goals do not terrify you and tempt you to run away, they are not big enough. So congratulations!
This Is A Natural Response
You are not crazy. Okay, okay you are not THAT crazy. Everyone who makes a decision to grow and stretch into the person they really are at their most powerful purposeful self will have moments of overwhelm, fear, and anger. What you are feeling is not a sign of weakness or that something is wrong with you. What you are feeling is just a symptom of growth. I know it may not feel that way right now; however, your ability to simply recognize and name what you are feeling is also a sign of great strength. Anytime you attempt to move beyond your comfort zone, there is a part of you that shows up to distract you and convince you to go back to that place of safety and familiarity. Part of you wants you to give up and turn around. Congratulations! You’re expressing your humanity and truth.
Everything Is Okay
No seriously. Take a look at exactly where you are in this present moment. Regardless of what you may be worried about happening, or how upset you are about what has already happened, you are okay in this present moment. You might not be fantastic and that is fine for this moment. Realize that no matter how terrible ‘It’ was to experience, it was not the end of your story. You are here reading this so you have survived that moment. Yes, there could be real hurt and pain that will take time to heal. Have you noticed how you are already starting to heal?
Maybe you are overwhelmed, fearful, and angry about something really horrible you expect to happen very soon. Okay. And ‘It’ is not happening in this moment. In this exact moment, you are here and everything right here is okay. Right here, right now, you are okay. As you were reading this, another moment has passed and you are still okay. And another moment, and another moment…
You Don’t Have To Stay That Way
What you are feeling is a direct reflection of how you’ve been thinking. You have the ability to step into your soul power and change how you feel. You might notice that you are already feeling a bit better just reading these words. When you are ready, you have the power to shift away from your overwhelm, fear, and anger into your most powerful purposeful place. When you recognize the pattern you have of sliding back into this space of fear, anger and overwhelm, you can begin to do things differently to deal with those feeling in a more constructive way. Decide right now to allow yourself to be human. Then decide to learn how to live more consistently in your soul power and move through these feelings with purpose.

Human Diversity in Organizations, a Hidden World of Opportunity
As a seasoned Diversity and Inclusion practitioner for a Fortune 100 company, who has lived & traveled in several countries and continually engages in the marketplace with Diversity related issues, I see good inclusionary practices by many… on the surface. The end results however, indicate that all too often noble objectives fall short of leveraging the inherent contributions of most leaving a quiet brooding behind, or sub par productivity gains. Government and Business entities both espouse Diversity and Inclusion policies to foster goodwill and equal representation.
