Do you have teeth that are broken or fractured, or teeth that are decayed or otherwise causing problems physically or aesthetically? If you do, then you have probably been wondering what types of restorative dentistry might be able to help you. A number of procedures are available today including porcelain crowns. Take the time to learn more about what these crowns can offer, and then speak with your dentist to see if they are right for you.
How Do Crowns Work?
The crowns, which are sometimes called caps, will go over the top portion of the tooth that has the problem. The tooth might be cracked or broken, it might be discolored, or it might have another issue entirely. The restorative dentistry specialist will prepare that tooth and then take a mold of it. They will fit you with a temporary crown until the lab has made your permanent crown. Once the permanent crown is ready, they will bond it to your tooth.
Do the Crowns Look Natural?
One of the reasons porcelain crowns are so popular is because they have a very natural look to them. Our Dearbo
dentists know that you want to have natural looking crowns for a truly great smile. To make sure you have the best looking crown possible, we consider a number of different factors including the bite, shape, and length of your natural teeth. We also make sure the color is right so it blends right in with the other teeth that you have.
