The Real Secret of "The Secret"

“The Secret” the hugely successful film about the Law of Attraction, has come in from some heavy criticism since its release in 2006.

The “Process of Manifestation” seems to draw the most, where it would seem a lot of people believe it is being less than honest in how it works. They say, according to the film, all you have to do, is sit around visualising and imagining this and that and it will appear in front of your eyes, without you having to do anything else! And that is misleading!

So people are not too happy that the bag of money hasn’t dropped on their head out of the sky, that the dream car hasn’t yet appeared outside their house, or they still haven’t lost the 20 odd pounds they’d “visualised” losing, just by thinking about it, while sitting watching TV with a packet of biscuits!

Apparently, the film is criticised, for not mentioning the fact that for this to happen, people have to take some sort of action. That to have what they wish for they do need to get off their backsides and do something. Instead it is said, it gives the impression that you only have to think about it and it is yours!

If that was truly what the film was saying, then I would agree that the criticism of it is justified and the message is misleading.

But I don’t believe that is the message of the film at all. I believe the message of “The Secret” is ALL about taking action! It is signposting! It is an invitation to people to take action to find out more about the Law of Attraction and how it can and does work in their lives. An invitation to take action to find more information and understanding. They choose to take that action or not!

Since I first watched “The Secret” two years ago, I have searched, researched, read, listened, watched and devoured as much information as I can on the Law of Attraction. I have seen changes in my life and other peoples by applying the principles and taking action. Along the way, I have discovered some great teachers and masters of the Law of Attraction, most of whom feature in the film. Joe Vitale, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Neale Donald Walsch, to name but a few.

I would probably have never known their work, had it not been for “The Secret.” Their books and programmes have helped me grow and develop and in turn help others do the same.

I have just completed Joe Vitale’s “Awakening Course” which is the most amazingly brilliant, awesome, life changing programme and it came to me, because I took action after watching the “The Secret.”

That is the real secret of “The Secret.” A call to action! An invitation to explore further! Accept or decline! Decide!
