As we go through our daily lives, we may not always see the blessings we have around us. We are too busy; we are deep in thought or just carrying on with our regular routines. However, we all have many blessings every day and if we aren’t careful, the day could pass and we could miss them.
Ezekiel 34:26 “I will bless my people and their homes around my holy hill. And in the proper seaso
I will send the showers they need. There will be showers of blessing.”
Blessings are sometimes easy to miss because they aren’t labeled with big red blinking lights, bold letters and put right in front of our face. Blessings are sometimes missed because they don’t always appear as something we would normally think of as a blessing. Blessings come in all forms, shapes and sizes. What appears to be an issue sometimes turns out to be a blessing. That is why it is so important to keep our eyes out for God’s blessings and use them as we should.
When we miss out on a blessing, we miss an opportunity to share God’s word. We miss an opportunity to help another person. We miss out on a chance to make a difference. Blessings are not always things for us but they are opportunities to help other people. Blessings are not always things we receive but things we can give.
When we receive blessings and we use them for our own reasons rather tha
God’s reasons, the outcome won’t be what God intended for it to be. For example, when we get that bonus and we use it for ourselves and not use it for what God wants us to do, we miss the full extremity of the blessing. We need to be sure we use our blessings as God intended so we are to go to Him in all we do to ensure His will is done.
In the Bible, we see men and women who received blessings. They were told by someone or by God they would be blessed so it was pretty clear about their blessings. Today, we aren’t so clear; however, we can know God will give us blessings. We have to be careful not to miss them and we have to be sure to use them wisely.
Many people wonder why some appear to be more blessed than others. It’s not really a matter of being more blessed. It’s a matter of being differently blessed. God blesses us all differently. Some of us may have more earthly things than others but it could be because of God’s purpose is for us. Some of us may have more problems than others but these are really blessings in disguise. We should praise God in all things and blessings will come from our praises and from our faith in God.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
When we are obedient to God and seek Him in all we do, we will find showers of blessings. When we use those blessings to help others, God will give us more. We need to be mindful of what we have and don’t have and realize having and not having are both blessings. No matter how we have been treated, we can respond with a blessing. God can help us respond with a blessing and show us how we can make a difference.
1 Peter 3:9 “Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it.”
