Simplicity - The Right Attitude Can Reduce Your Job Stress

Work sucks, but then again, maybe it’s your attitude.
And, maybe the people at work really do suck, but in the meantime there are some easy things you can do to ease the tension.
Keep in mind, you cannot change other people, but you can change your attitude.
Let me give you an incredible example.
In a recent Australian newspaper, The Herald Sun, it was reported in the article titled Message of Hope In a Mad World, that although Palestinians and Israelis have been mortal enemies for a very long time, there appeared a bright light and a ray of hope between the two. (Think of this story as it relates to you and troublesome people at work.)
Ahmed Khatib, a 12-year-old Palestinian boy was shot dead by Israeli troops who mistook his toy gun for a real one.
Understandably grief stricken, Ahmed’s family made a simple, yet exceptional gesture in the name of peace. They donated their son’s organs to "the enemy" - an Israeli hospital.
The parents hope was that their young son’s death was not meaningless.
Today Ahmed’s heart beats in the chest of an Israeli girl. His liver is keeping a Jewish girl alive, as well as an Israeli mother. Ahmed’s lungs now breathe inside a teenage Jewish girl and his kidney’s pump blood once again inside a Bedouin and a 3-year old Jewish girl.
Setting religious and cultural differences aside, Ahmed’s parents could not see any child suffer, regardless of who they were or where they came from.
The documentary, The Heart of Jenin, was based on this moving story and was produced by an Arab and a Jew. Their message is, "Violence against violence is worthless."
And so it is in your workplace. The simplicity of a new attitude can not only change global hatreds, but can change your stress level at work.
You’ve heard it before, global change begins at home.
Today try to forgive your enemies at work and instead look toward the good of your company. As you forgive your "enemies" a sweeping peacefulness will be yours.
